Time for a break from the hustle bustle world. So let's get drunk, grab the beach ball and limbo stick and forget the worries! The lab is having another fund raiser for reconstruction and you know you wan to help out!
We have plenty of fun for Raevan and guardian alike: beach bar and buffet, plenty of sand castle fun, pie eating contests, limbo fun and the long awaited paintball wars! You know you want to sign-up so bring your bikini-clad behinds over to the bar to enter!

oo1 Please refrain from any posting styles or teeny tiny fonts. Keep it AT LEAST 11 font or 12 font preferably please. It's kind of inconsiderate to make other people squint in order to read your posts just because it might make them look cooler.
oo2 Please be considerate of other role players. Make sure no one has posted before you while you have been writing your own reply.
oo3 Don't crowd around one Raevan or one owner, etc. There is plenty of time for you to meet everyone and it's stressful for the one player to support everyone who wants their attention. So please spread out and talk with someone who isn't so busy.
oo4 Don't sign up for an event you won't be there for or active in! We advise you don't sign up for all of them at once, and instead make sure you won't have any plans getting in the way the week of each as they draw closer.
oo5 To keep the confusion levels down, it would help to type your location so people can differentiate between people who are playing a game, sitting at the beach bar or having casual fun at the sandcastle area. For example, if you're at the Beach Bar type (( Beach Bar Buffet )) at the top of your post.
oo6 Out-of-character notes should be done in OOC brackets of some kind, or posted in the main thread instead of here.
oo7 If you are not a Raevan guardian, you are required to have a post with your character's info in the Non-Owner Character Profile thread before you can RP.
oo8 If you play multiple characters, you can only sign up one for each game! Otherwise you're giving yourself more chances to win than everyone else, which isn't very fair.

  Oh hells yeah! What's more fun than a gaggle of mature responsible adults getting drunk and goosing each other all night? For those who'd rather sit in the shade over a frosty one than enjoy all the fun that a beach party has to offer, we have a fully-stocked beach bar ready and waiting for you!
We`rika won't be bartending this year unfortunately - he's still a little annoyed that Dr. Kyou insisted on that job, we think - but we welcome you to help yourself as the bar is stocked full of what you need to get any drink you'd like. Let's just hope our favorite science warlock doesn't start doodling summoning circles on the bottoms of the glasses that release anti-fun abominations onto this little get-together.
It also offers a barbecue buffet, along with soda pops and finger foods. A stack of CDs full of mostly bad 80's dance songs and California rock can be found here as well, next to a player hooked up to some high quality speakers that can blare music across the entire beach.
Sign-ups for the events will also be posted at the bar counter for you convenience. Please include a small donation for the Lab's reconstruction if you can!

  What beach party would be complete with out sand sculpting equipment?! Help yourself to the flimsy plastic vibrant-colored buckets, shovels and miscellaneous sand castle paraphernalia that we all remember and love. If you don't feel like participating in a certain game or don't need food or refreshments, this'll be a good place for the party poopers more laid-back people to hang out. Make a fortress fit for a mean crab tyrant, or bury that sleeping sunbather in the sand. We like to make you think the possibilities are as endless as the ocean and your own creativity.
Along with your standard sand construction equipment, there's a few other ways to enjoy this part of the beach. Several parasols and towels in various colors are available to people who just want to chill on the sand, soak up the sun and enjoy a cool drink from the nearby bar. And for the more playful types who don't want to mess around with a sandcastle, there's a large, brightly-colored beach ball to throw around, along with a large bucket that has a seemingly endless supply of water balloons. We hope you didn't forget your sunscreen!

This game is going to take place between Sunday, June 15th at 2pm CST and Friday, June 20th at 11:59 PM CST. Sign-ups will be closed on Friday, June 13th at 11:59 PM CST.
The rules here are simple: I say GO, you get stacks of pies, you start eating them. In order to determine how much you're able to eat, generate a random number between 1 and 100 in each post you're actively competing in, and keep a tally of your total at the bottom of your post. Don't try and cheat by inflating the numbers, because we'll catch you and you'll be disqualified! As you might have guessed, the person with the highest total at the end of the game will be declared Lord of the Pies and get a nifty prize!
If you're competing in this game, you will have six courses in total to eat, all in a different pie flavor. We suggest you pace yourself and space them out over the course of the game both for the sake of your health, and to keep things interesting!

This game is going to take place between Sunday, June 22nd at 2pm CST and Friday, June 27th at 11:59 PM CST. Sign-ups end on Friday, June 20th at 11:59 PM CST.
To keep things fair, only one character per player is allowed to be signed up. Please keep this in mind if you have a Raevan or roleplay with multiple characters. Also, please be considerate towards other players and do not sign up for this event if you won't be able to participate in it!
Our Paintball War is going to be divided into two teams, with the roster of each determined grade-school softball style by the team captains - that means whether you end up in Mouse's luscious Team Melon or Werika's edgy Team Cactus isn't up to you! So no complaining if you end up with someone you don't like or opposing someone you do, okay? If we end up with an uneven number, one of the team captains will step down to level the playing field.
Now, in order to use your handy paintball gun:
First make sure that the name of your target is typed in bold so it's clear who you're aiming for!
Then in the same post, roll a random number between 1 and 2. 1 is a hit, while 2 is a miss.
Each gun has only six paintballs in it to keep things fair for people with less time to post.
And lastly, the winning team is the one with the most hits by the time the game's over!
Oh, and Raevans are discouraged from using their powers. That's cheating!
To avoid confusion, please use your team's name or color somewhere in your location tag. Team Melon's color is salmon, while Team Cactus's is olivedrab.

As with the other games, please be considerate and sign up only one character if you own a Raevan or play with multiple characters!
Our Limbo Contest is going to be determined primarily by elimination, and secondarily by score. As with the eating contest, you roll a random number between 1 and 100 and keep the total score at the bottom of your post, and you also have up to six rounds to do it.
HOWEVER! In this game, if your roll generates a number above a certain amount, you'll bump against the limbo stick and be eliminated from the game!
Round 1's a freebie for everybody, just so you know.
Round 2 will eliminate players with a score above 90.
Round 3 will eliminate players with a score above 80.
Round 4 will eliminate players with a score above 70.
Round 5 will eliminate players with a score above 60.
Round 6 will eliminate players with a score above 50.
If there's more than one person left standing, the winner will be the one
with the lowest total score. Your score will not be counted if you
don't roll for all six rounds.
Finally, don't use any special powers to cheat - THIS MEANS YOU, EIRY.
You can wait your turn if you want to, but there's no stopping less active posters from being bumped to the back of the line. Just be sure to keep track of how many posts you have left, it will make things easier on everyone if you do!

This game is going to take place between Sunday, July 6th at 2pm CST and the end of the beach party. Sign-ups end on Friday, July 4th at 11:59 PM CST.
In this game we're going to sit in a circle and tell a story - a little bit at a time, from person to person! The first participant starts it out, and subsequent people in the list add to it in the order on the sign-up list. There won't be too much need to write in actions here, so just one-liners in quotation marks as your contribution to the story will be fine. You will have 60 minutes to add to the story, otherwise you'll be skipped and the next person on the list will go instead. When the end of the list is reached, we go right back to the top until the story ends or people get bored and stop posting.

For people who could tell what time it was based on the shadows cast by the objects on the beach, it was just starting to creep into high noon at the stretch of fine sand that had been staked out for the Lab's latest party-slash-fundraiser. As of that moment the place was almost completely devoid of people, but was something to be expected when one considered that this area was a little out of the way in order to escape from the usual vacationer density that beaches saw at this time as year. People were going to end up fashionably late, but it was going to be worth it! Or at least the arrangers hoped...
The warm air of the beach seemed full of the anticipation for a day of summer fun. It was entirely silent save for the breath of the ocean, a gentle salty breeze that wafted in now and again, and a pair of souped-out speakers crackling out Safety Dance loud enough for people out on the highway to hear wisps of it wafting away from the scene of the party.
A loosely-sandled foot that dangled from a chair at the beach bar swayed in erratic circles in time to the music. The rest of the body soon followed, as a familiar green-haired mechanic clad in a bikini top and board shorts chair-danced to the classic dance tune and lip-synched shamelessly to the words. One hand clutched a large bottle of sunblock while the other rhythmically worked it into the girl's exposed skin.
"What are you doing?" Ekundayo had immediately wandered off to explore when they finally arrived at the beach, but she had eventually drifted back to her guardian, a look of curiosity on her face. It was a miracle her voice could be heard above the blaring of the speakers.
"Putting on sunscreen," Mouse replied. "It's so I don't go home looking like an Oompa Loompa."
That response only made the eagle Raevan more confused than her guardian's explanations typically did. Deciding she didn't care too much about the details (Mouse did many things she didn't quite understand, after all - like 'walk' and 'eat'), she gave a small shrug and carried herself out of the shade of the bar to take another look around. More people were supposed to be arriving soon... right?

Location: Beach Parking Lot --> Beach Buffet The heat was already getting to her pretty badly, but the good thing was it was dry, not humid. She couldn't have wished for anything better considering just when in the year it was, and at the very least she had packed quite a few water bottles in her messenger bag. Tango, her dog, lay panting on the cool sand as it lead up the path towards the rest of the beach. He hadn't been to one before, so it was a good oppertunity, and just as well, she could figure out what all of this Lab business was about. A couple times she had seen ads and such, one time looking for volunteers, and then another fund-raiser that had long since passed. Anita was determined she would attend this one and inquire as much as possible as to what sort of volunteer work would be involved and, of course, actually helping out a bit with whatever funds it might need. Tugging on Tango's leash, he was brought to his feet, and Ani started her barefoot trek through the sand. Definitely not a fan of shoes. Once they were over a small slope, Ani squinted to survey where everything was and what was going on, sun rays making it very difficult. Uttering a frustrated sigh, she fished through her carrying bag and removed a dark pair of sunglasses. Too bad they didn't make doggy sunglasses. "Alright... that... okay, that looks like a buffet... and some other things, too.. hnn..." Her attention was stuck on the buffet for now: shade, ice cold drinks. Tango would appreciate it, too, she was sure. There seemed to be a small gathering around it already, though she wasn't sure if any of them were related to this 'Lab'. She was still too far off to tell for certain, and it very well may have been the heat playing tricks with her vision, but there appeared to be a very strange looking figure at the buffet with another figure that sported vibrant hair. She could see the waves moving blearily around them, and especially closer to the water, making things difficult to discern at their current locale. Ani turned to look down at Tango, who exchanged the glance, panting heavily and giving his tail a quick shake, but otherwise keeping still. "You wanna go down and get some ice cubes?" Two shakes of his tail this time, and a little change in his breathing; excitement. With one more nod from her, Tango began walking, and she followed suite. He seemed determined and knowledgeable of where such ice cubes might be--the buffet in question--but that didn't stop the dog from looking off and starting to meander, forcing her to give a slight tug here and there on his line to keep him on course. He wold appreciate it in the end. As the distance between them and the beach bar closed, Ani couldn't help but peak over at the two that had aroused some intrigue from her. With each step she noticed something new and different, about the green haired female, and especially her companion. The music was all but ignored as Ani couldn't help but pause, staring at the bottomless beautiful woman that floated there, a ribbon dancing as her waist and legs. What was this creature? It had wings, yet appeared mostly human. It had no waist or legs, and floated, defying gravity. Only when Tango pulled her along did she realize how long she must have been staring and she felt an embarrassing color rise to her cheeks. That was rude of her. But still... Chancing one last glance, she sat on one of the bar stools, taking care to tie Tango's leash to it, as well, before ordering a water with ice, and a cup of ice.

Niksia tended to keep an eye on various postings and articles, news adverts and the odd poster pasted around town. She'd grown used to finding out about Lab events and attending, enjoying the changes each time. The latest was apparently a beach event, held to help continue the restoration of the destroyed lab.
'I wonder how much it costs to rebuild something like that...'
She pondered that while dressing more appropriately for summer, knowing better than to go to the beach and sweating the rest of the day in a pair of black trousers. The scarf had to stay though, it was about to become public transport protection. Even the gloves managed to survive the wardrobe change, it was just easier to keep them on and it gave her an excuse to keep wearing black.
A tiger stripe bikini was a bit much as she travelled up to Gambino, so the scarf was wrapped around her upper half to try and preserve her modesty. Niksia's dark eyes narrowed once or twice, just to put off the slightly too intense stares. She had to live with overexposed legs though, the black skirt had to be short enough to counteract the building heat.
The strains of music led her to the beach, all set up already for the party. Flicking the hair off her neck, moisture sticking the two together already, she looked around at the people already starting to gather as she stood on the sand.
'Huh... Nice.'

Despite living near the beach, Alex rarely ever found the time to go out and enjoy the convenience; upon hearing that the Lab would be holding another festival beachside, she had been more than ecstatic. Donning her hawaiian print wrap and blue bikini top (Lorenzo had managed to destroy her one piece in a fit of kneading), she had made her way to the beach and was walking the sandy expanse with her sandals in her hand. She wanted to get a good look at the calm tide before it was swarmed with people.
Lorenzo for his part was content to perch on his owner's shoulders, chewing on his claws as his keen wine colored eyes surveyed the area. It was rather boring really, all sand and water and no sweets. There was no appeal to the small Gwee, not yet; to display his displeasure and quickly developing lack of anything to do, he squirmed around and started to chew on Alex's hair.
"Cool it," she chuckled at the Gwee, plucking the squawking dragonette off her shoulders and tucking him into the crook of her bare arm. Putting on her sunglasses, she turned towards the focal point of the gathering, wondering if she'd see any familiar faces and how many new ones she'd encounter.

When the girl at the bar who possessed legs noticed the new arrival, reached out a lotion-greased hand towards the speakers, turning down the volume enough so level human speech could be more audible. "Haven't seen you around before," she remarked with a casual tone and a smile. It didn't seem that she was heard though, as the other girl's attention was directed elsewhere - so instead she glanced warily at the dog the new arrival had brought along.
The eagle girl couldn't help but take notice of the sudden feeling of awe and curiosity that had become present here. Her downy hair flew up in seeming resistance as she spun around to look at the new person, the expression on her face subconsciously mimicking what Anita was feeling.
"Ah - sorry, our bartender isn't here yet..." Mouse apologized. "Gimme a sec." She jumped down off of her seat, becoming a good few inches shorter in the process, and walked around to let herself into the server's area of the beach bar. After a moment a couple of glasses were produced, filled according to order and presented to Anita. "So... I see you noticed Ekundayo. She's what we call a 'Raevan', if you didn't already know."

Rai loved the beach. It was something about the smell of the air and the sound of the waves that really made him happy. So when he saw the ads displaying a fundraiser for a ‘Lab’ at the beach, it was awfully hard not to investigate. Why fight the curiosity? So with that thought, Rai journeyed down the beach to where a small group was starting to gather. Hmm. He must be a little early, or something.
And that was when he noticed the lady with a dragon. Ever intrigued and none-too-shy, Rai wandered over to the woman in the blue bikini, shaking the sand out of his sandals as he went. He smiled and approached a little more before finally deciding to greet the stranger.
“Uhm, hi there,” he said with a little wave. “I couldn’t help but notice your dragon and…” Rai trailed off with a shrug. She must get that a lot, carrying around a pet like that. “Are you here for the fundraiser, too?”
