He was so sick and tired of seeing mares all the time. He didn't like others in general, but he disliked mares the most. They were so fickle and stubborn and all around annoying and it seemed to him all he had been plagued with as of late was mares. He'd seen more than enough mares for a while. Amazing as it was, he wanted to meet anyone, anything that was male, just so he could see if they were as irritating as the opposite gender.
Huffing, Auster flopped down in a field, folding his wings around him. The grass was high and if he ducked his head, he would be unseen. Maybe here he would not be found and not be annoyed further by a mare.

Spirit Sprite walks slowly through the field, stopping every now and then to lower his head to graze, raising his head up with a mouthful of grass to keep an eye on his two-legger mother, Valeria. Tania winds her way around his hooves, coming close, but never actually getting herself stepped on. He halfheartedly chews on his mouthful of grass as his two-legger wanders further away in search of items to make dyes with.
Taking a few more steps further, he lowers his head, not really paying attention to what was in front of him until he attempts to pull up his head with his prize, eyes blinking and focusing on the black tail hairs he had instead of grass. Blinking rapidly again, he follows the dark silken thread to the hindquarters of their winged owner, dropping the hair and scampering backwards almost immediately. My name is Key. I am a key. And could you perhaps be... My keyhole?

Auster had been dozing and had nearly fallen asleep. As much as he preferred the dark of his forest, he had to admit the sun on his back had been nice. He hadn't noticed when the other approached, but he sure as hell noticed when his tail was pulled on.
His icy eyes shot open and in a flash he was on his feet, snarling at whomever dared touch his tail. He assumed it was a naive two-legger, or perhaps an admiring filly. Either way, he didn't want to deal with it. He was surprised to see another stallion before him however, and froze.
"...Can I help you?"

Spirit Sprite froze in his tracks, looking up at the much bigger and more menacing looking stallion. His ears flick back uncertainly as he cringes, trying to look as small and harmless as possible. Hearing the other speak, he nearly bolted and ran, but, surprisingly, stood his ground, even if he did look scared to death. "S-sorry... D-didn't MEAN to bite and pull... I... I wasn't paying attention. I-It'll never happen again!" He says, ears flicking uncertainly again.
Tania, by this time, had found Spirit Sprite again and launches herself to land in between the two stallions with a menacing growl, tail lashing as she glares up at Auster. "Don't be mean to him, you big bully!"My name is Key. I am a key. And could you perhaps be... My keyhole?

Composing himself, the black stallion looked calmly down at the smaller male, tilting his head at him. It had been a long time since he had been in the company of another stallion, he didn't particularly feel like driving this one away or leaving, even if he seemed a bit of a scaredy-cat.
"I should hope not," he replied, looking down for the other voice. Seeing the small mountain lion, he smirked. "I am being mean to no one. And what would you do about it if I were?"

Tania growls, tail whipping wildly behind her as she glares up at Auster. "I'd bite and scratch you, that's what, you big windbag!" Spirit Sprite blinks, looking down at Tania. Lowering his head, he nudges the cub warningly. "Knock it off, Tania! You're going to get us in more trouble!" Tania is nearly bowled over with the nudge, but manages to keep her feet after making a half-hearted swat with her paw at Spirit Sprite's nose. "Fine. If he starts being an a**, though, I'm attacking him, with or without your permission." My name is Key. I am a key. And could you perhaps be... My keyhole?

Auster snorted at the lion cub. "I could stomp you, you know." He turned back to the stallion, studying him. "My name is Auster. Could I inquire yours?"

Spirit Sprite looks up at what the other said to Tania, his left foreleg moving in front of the cub protectively and pushing her underneath him. To protect his 'sister', he would at least attempt to fight. However, when the other gives his name and asks for Spirit Sprite's own, he falters a bit, his brain seemingly confused and clouded. "Um... Ah.. Spirit Sprite..." He mumbles uncertainly, glad that his two-legged mother wasn't around. She liked Soquili enough, but he didn't think this other stallion liked two-leggers much, if at all. My name is Key. I am a key. And could you perhaps be... My keyhole?

It was true, the angeni didn't like two-leggers much. Hell, he didn't like anyone much. It was practically a miracle that he had instigated this conversation.
"Spirit Sprite," he murmured, looking down at the cub. "And Tania."

Spirit Sprite gulps slightly, then nods. "Y-Yes... Um... Sorry about your tail.." He apologizes again, resisting his urge to flee the bigger stallion's presence. "I... I didn't realize anyone else was here and wasn't paying attention." My name is Key. I am a key. And could you perhaps be... My keyhole?

"Hm?" He looked up, ear flicking slightly. "Oh. Nevermind that. No matter." He shook his head dismissively and started to walk around the smaller stallion. "Spirit Sprite, what do you do all day?"

Spirit Sprite turns his entire body as Auster walks around him, keeping the much bigger stallion in his sights while keeping himself firmly standing over where he had pushed Tania. "I... go on long hikes with my Mother... She normally doesn't get too far out of my sight..." He mumbles, brown eyes keeping a lookout for that familiar black hair. Not seeing it anywhere nearby, he heaves a near silent sigh of relief. "But... She's not here... Thankfully. I guess, that's a good thing... right...?" He asks, confused. My name is Key. I am a key. And could you perhaps be... My keyhole?

He stopped circling him, seeing as it was getting him nowhere. With a frown on his face, he eyed the other. "Aren't you a little old to be hanging around your mother?" he asked, trying to keep the disdain out of his voice--at least for the time being.

Spirit Sprite blinks, tilting his head slightly in confusion. "I... Don't know. I wasn't raised like most normal Soquili... My mother isn't one of our kind. She's a two-legger. She hasn't tried to push me away or anything, so I guess it's okay that I still follow her around..." My name is Key. I am a key. And could you perhaps be... My keyhole?

His eyes widened. "Your... mother is a two-legger?" Oh boy, he couldn't keep the disdain out of his voice at that. "You are so close to a two-legger that you call it your mother?" That was just not right.
