The little blue colt had stayed put with mother and father all day. He was bored out of his mind, and the mischievious side of him was coming out. He furrowed his eyebrows, in an attempt to find an escape route from the dwelling where he and his parents resided. A two-toned tail flicked slightly, and his tongue came to the top of his lip.
"Hmmm..."
Smirking,he decided walking away was worth it..After all they werent paying a lick of attention anyway. So he dashed out of his little bush and was able to slip away without being seen.
"Finally! Woo-hoo!" He cheered as he got farther away. He knew these woods like the back of his hoof. He always roamed. He wasnt deviant, in fact, he was one of the best mannered foals, mother said.

The filly pranced away, her white battle-steed of a father paying attention to the more...difficult of the two sisters. Seresai was, indeed, a spitfire. Not saying that Amerlei wasn't. Just...in a different way.
She slipped through the pair of trees, careful to keep out of sight of the herd's protector, Blais. He would march her home ASAP and her journey would be over in a flick of his ear.
As she leapt a fallen log somewhat awkwardly, she caught sight of a slate-hued colt just a few yards away. His mane was a dark lavender. Lavender meant the other foal was friendly, she decided. Perhaps he was an angel...with the wing markings on his back.
That's right! An angel!
And so Amerlei took off at a gallop, squealing as she approached him, her own wings pressed tight to her body. "Angel!"

Marcellin stopped, and cocked his head as he heard the voice. Angel? Well he had definately never heard that before..Other than his mother..Hismother was always an angel. But he saw the little filly and smiled.
"Hello!" He noticed her feathered wings first..He hadnt ever seen wings like that before..Moth wings were not unnatural for him..yet Feathered wings were.
"You said angel before..Does that mean you're an angel?" He asked, cocking his head and looking her wings over again.
He smiled flicking his tail. She seemed really nice..It made him happy to see another foal..And she was a lovely shade of white aswell.
"My name is Marcellin, but..you can call me Marc."

She skidded to a halt in front of him, their noses nearly touching until she reared back. He was an odd colt... Her? An -angel-? Amerlei gave a snicker. "I'm not an angel, silly!" she fluted. "You are. Look at the mark on your back!"
She didn't even seem to notice she, herself, had wings. They were second nature to her...and she didn't like to use them. She knew Seres used hers...but it didn't -feel- right.
"I'm Amerlei, daughter of the great Crousader!" She puffed her chest out, looked prideful for a moment, and then laughed. "Or Merlei to you."

He smiled, giving a laugh.
"But Im not an angel!.." He said, his voice very matter-of-fact. "Im more of a butterfly..Youre the angel.." He said, nosing her wing gently, but looking backup quickly as to not offend her should she not want him touching her.
"I love your name!"
Why had she announced her father that way? Surely he was great for being her father anyway, yes? His father was great to him..He didnt go around saying that..Maybe he should..
"Its a pleasure to meet you." He said, offering a bow.

Her the angel...? She squealed softly and lifted one wing as his muzzle touched it. The single appendage spread out in all its birdlike glory before she whipped it back against her body.
His smile was cute... She offered him a grin of her own, ornery and innocent all at once, recovering from the startle. "And yours is pretty...Mar." She left off the 'c', testingly.
Then, with a c**k of her head, asked, "What's a butterfly?"

He watched in awe as she unfolded her wing, and watched it fan out, before she retracted it back in to her body. He smiled, he was a cute little colt, and always seemed to be curious and smiling.
One thing startled him,and he knew he was going to have to help her. "You dont know what a butterfly is?!"
He asked, incredulously. But he wasnt teasing or being mean..He had really thought everyone knew what a butterfly was.
"They..well.." He turned his head towards the flower field that they were only steps away from, and smiled. "There. Thats a butterfly!" He beamed and took off towards it.

Her wings gave a little shake, a feather falling free. Her mane fell into green eyes as she shook her head. No, she didn't know.
She followed his gaze into a field, then as he took off, she pranced after him. He lead her to a bright blue winged thing, little legs balanced on a flower.
"It's like...a tiny...non feathered bird..." she said finally, still quite perterbed. "I think I like birds better..."

He looked at her with wide eyes, and merely chuckled, shaking his head. "Well I dont know how you think that..After seeing this lovely creature." He said, and directed his gaze back at the perched butterfly. It was gorgeous..Still..Not as pretty as a moth..
"So..Where are your parents?" He asked. He hadnt seen where she had come from..And he saw no one else around.

She shook her head in a response. The butterfly was odd...but she much preferred the bird's wings. The butterfly was simple and elegant but the bird was complex with a multitude of feathers...
"My parents?"
She paused for a minute. Crousader had been paying attention to her troublesome sister... Amarinne had been napping. She'd gotten away easily. So she shrugged.
"Yours?"

He gave a smile, and shook his head. "My parents don't really have me on any sort of limitations...If Im not careful, then its my own fault..Though I dont really go anywhere dangerous." He said, shrugging. Which was true..Danger wasnt his thing. He much preferred the quiet life.

"Wow!" said the filly, blinking. No limitations? Daddy would have her tail...he'd never be the kind to let her just go free. Heck, even when she herself had fillies and colts of her own, he'd still be there.
"What happens if a wolf comes out and eats you? Won't they worry?"

He lifted his head up proudly as she asked about the wolves.
"They cant get me..Didn't you hear me? I never go too far..My parents could probably see me if they looked hard enough."
He grinned and wagged his little tail.
"So Merlei, what would you like to do?" He was prancing around her and swaying his head side to side. He was being a happy little guy..He had no negative side to life.

She glanced around, but couldn't see either parent. Her ears flicked back and her wings fluffed up a little bit. "Are they nice?"
As he pranced behind her, she bolted forwards with a squeal, skidding to the side. On her face was a smile. "Daddy taught Seres and me to spar young...but I like to race. And play taaaaagggggg..."
And with that, she nipped his shoulder and took off at a gallop.

He looked around as she did,and noticed he may have gone maybe a little too far, but hewasnt worried, and knew that his mother would come looking for him if he strayed too long.
"They're very nice..Mother used to be quiet and..kinda rude..But I think daddy has calmed her down, and made her feel safe..So shes super nice."
He didnt know what sparring was, but when she mentioned his favorite game, he gave a squeal of delight, before taking off and chasing after her.
"Heyyy!"
