So I went to the midnight showing. Wore my Indiana Jones Fedora hat and everything. I was a little worried about the movie with Harrison Ford being as old as he is, and with rumors I had heard of aliens in the movie, but the movie was actually really good. It had a lot of action like you'd expect from and Indiana Jones movie. Had a lot of the same kind of humor as the previous movies. All in all it had the same kind of feel as the rest of the series. If you liked the old Indiana Jones movies you should like this one...Lucas didn't pull another Star Wars... lol

I went to it with my husband who notices everything that doesn't jive - like a wound on one shoulder and in the next scene it is in the other - and when they were dueling on the jeeps he told me he could tell it was done on a green screen - and I couldn't help seeing it that way as well. I liked the Indie movies 1 and 3 more than 2 or 4.

MsRoseLovingJo I went to it with my husband who notices everything that doesn't jive - like a wound on one shoulder and in the next scene it is in the other - and when they were dueling on the jeeps he told me he could tell it was done on a green screen - and I couldn't help seeing it that way as well. I liked the Indie movies 1 and 3 more than 2 or 4. Three was certainly the best, but don't be so harsh in judging four. One and three, and two of course, had many idiotically fake looking parts in them. Lack of technology isn't even a good enough excuse for some of them. Green screens are still very common practice in movies, and in my opinion this movie did far better than most. Mistakes like the wound switching shoulders are fairly common in movies. I didn't notice where that happened, but it would probably have been fairly easy for them to flip the film during production. My advice to you would be to stop seeing movies with your husband, or just tell him not to say anything. He should be going to movies to try to enjoy them, not to criticize them, especially if he is going with someone else who might want to enjoy the movie. I do notice these kinds of things when I see movies, but I notice them in every movie...If I let this kind of thing bother me I wouldn't like any movie. Knowing that these mistakes happen in every movie you should just ignore it and try to get into the movie. It will make your movie going experience a lot more fun.

I only start noticing the inconsistencies when I see the movie for a 2nd or 3rd time...As stated earlier, 1 and 3 were the better of the 4....Didn't care for number 2 and number 4, well it's still fairly new...

I was a little bit suprised that it turned out to be a sci-fi sort of movie, particularly at the end. But besides that, I really enjoyed it. It was a very fun, adventure filled movie. And of course, the humor was great. I also loved that they brought Maryann back for the movie.
I don't typically notice mistakes in movies unless they are blatantly obvious, or I have seen it several times. Also, it is easier not to notice such problems when you are utterly absorbed into the movie itself, I've noticed.

I liked it! I was so happy to have Indy get back together with Marian. (And when he started calling his son "Junior"...priceless.)

I think I'll point out here that, although the alien thing seems kinda sci-fi-ish, recordings have described UFO or flying saucer sightings for thousands of years. The idea of beings from another world is older than Christianity itself (which isn't all that surprising), and that is what two of the other three movies is about, so really, IMO, this movie fits into series quite well.

Ditto to that! My favorite was the third, although I didn't like the annoying blonde Nazi.

Krego-sama The idea of beings from another world is older than Christianity itself (which isn't all that surprising.) Perhaps you're technically right, although one must remember that Christ was prophesied of from the very beginning of the world...much, much earlier than the theory of extra-terrestials. biggrin

In two of the movies they deal with the Arc and the Holy Grail. 'UFO' sightings have been depicted from much earlier time periods than those objects even existed. There have in fact been depictions of what looks like flying saucers from as far back as 10,000 BC. There are even many religious paintings of Christ and other religious figures have been found depicting flying saucers or other similar flying objects. Alexander the Great reported seeing two shining shield like objects in the sky. My point really is that UFO sightings have been around for an extremely long time, and have even been associated with religion, so this Indiana Jones movie fits in well with the rest IMO.
