Moto flopped beneath the shade of the tree, all too grateful of its shade. It'd been hot, and she'd traveled far that day. Sadly...no sign of a watering hole yet. She sighed. Another disadvatage to wandering so much...the dry season was upon the rogue lands and water was scarce. Not impossible to find...but the watering holes and streams were farther and farther apart. She rolled onto her side. Maybe a nap would help...less energy needed to nap.
Paws padded lightly upon the drying grass. Moving smoothly across the land, like water over rocks, the multi-colored male made his way across the horizons looking for something that would entertain him. Satisfy the boredom that had begun to eat away at him since his all too amusing, and painful, encounter with an old childhood friend...enemy...crush or however the purple female of his past chose to describe it now. Letting a yawn roll from his lips he flicked his tail picking up his pace as he glanced upward toward the sky and the sun that lived within it. Mentally he cursed the sun, well not the sun but the heat it bore down upon the partially dark male. Having grown up next to a large body of water and residing near one for most of his life the heat was unsettling, uncomfortable and definitely not desirable. Suijin had grown accustom to the growing degrees of heat, as much as he disliked it, but it was a slow process and he was still adjusting. When his water-blue eyes came to meet the form of the mostly dark-yellow female a smirk spread across his lips as he adjusted himself and began to head her way. "It's not always safe to be alone, especially when you are out in the open" His deep voice rumbled.
Moto startled a bit, orange-amber eyes immediately going to the male nearby. "Maybe, but life does not always give us companions." She stood, showing she was rather large for a rogue female. She smiled and chuckled. "As you yourself can attest. Unless you have friends or family nearby?" The golden female had no idea what she was getting herself into, but she'd always been of the belief that she could either outrun trouble, or beat it if needed.
No laughter came from the male's lips at the female's words, only a slightly broader smirk. "Have you sought companions? Life doesn't give you what you don't first seek." He replied his voice level, monotone, as he stepped closer towards her, making sure there was just enough distance between the two of them. "Life is safer for males than it is for females sugar." He told her giving her a nickname whether she liked it or not. "I recently parted ways with a friend, who I don't know ever considered me a friend." He told her his voice still the same, no emotion expressing himself on his pale face.

Moto shook her head lightly. "When I seek companions, they must be...able to stand their own in a fight." She would not risk traveling companions who could not stand up to her sister, larger than her and at least several pounds heavier in muscle. Not that she would say that. Especially not to this rather...odd male. She snorted at his comment about life. "I've healed as many, if not more, males as females. Usually due to some stupid fight." The golden lioness had seen stupidity quite a bit in her travels...Females often seemed more level-headed than males, sadly.

"While females maybe more level-headed males are able to better withstand the challenges, physical challenges, thrown against them." Suijin replied as he moved to circle her once. Then a second time before settling down before her. Once sitting he sat straight eyes focused on her yellow form, his attention all hers. "Females are more vunerable, emotionally weak, usually at least from my experience." He stated rolling his shoulders back in a shrug.

Moto couldn't help but be on edge now. Something about him made her want to...just bristle up. "And many males I've met are emotionally dead, lacking in the ability to relate to others." Her orange-amber eyes were slightly narrowed in caution. He was beginning to remind her of Hakuna...without the violence. "And I think you've forgotten who actually carries and births the cubs." She'd never had them herself...but she'd seen other lionesses stand tall despite the extra weight and food needs put upon them...

Suijin merely arched a brow deciding it was no longer worth fighting over, he knew both sides of the arguments had strong points and weak points. The debate could continue forever. "But I have not sugar, I know that fact all to well. I also know that almost every female at least once feels the yearning to be a mother and they know it's worth the pain while males, as wonderful as they are, will never know what it's like to give life rather than take it." He told her sliding to his paws and getting closer but still far enough away.
He was waiting.
"We only play a part and that is the one thing we can never beat females at. Giving life." He stated his expression growing cold and his eyes hard. That was the one thing he would fail to do before the purple vixen that often plagued his mind. Damn her.

Moto sat up, muscles tense. She could feel a growl wanting to come out of her throat, but she wouldn't let it. No...She wouldn't let herself. This male was...she couldn't pinpoint it, but she didn't trust him as far as she could push back her sister. "Yes...And males are usually the ones best at protecting."
She wanted out of here. But she wasn't going to just run off. Oh no, she wouldn't let him see her do that. Not this male who kept stepping on her paws without physically doing so...
"I'm afraid I must take my leave. I have much ground to cover, and I'm afraid I was resting for too long, as it was." Hopefully, the excuse would pass.

Suijin was no fool, in fact he was very perceptive and could tell that the female was uneasy around him. He could also tell that her words were just an excuse, one that would let her escape flee. "You don't need to lie." He stated his voice returning to it's natural monotone state his face almost blank. "If you wish you leave then leave, or are you afraid I will chase you?" He chuckled darkly with a shake of his head his dark mane falling over his eyes shielding them. "Run."
