Though I'm a blues-man and prefer Clapton, neither is better. They are both good at their respective genres and that's all there is to it. Neither of them is better than the other.

Clapton will always be my choice when it comes to the greatest blues guitarist of all time. He's a god, and he deserves his throne. While Eric Johnson is amazing, in my opinion no one comes close to Clapton.

Clapton IS GOD Yes, he is, enough so that in my iTunes I have God instead of Eric Clapton in the Artist section, but I stand by what I said all the same.

Clapton. All Clapton fans should read his autobiography.

Nihonsei Clapton. All Clapton fans should read his autobiography. I'm actually in the process of doing that, and I'm about 2/3 of the way through it. It's a really good read, and I've found out a lot about the man, and how he has struggled in his life. I would recommend it 100%.

Lick for lick, if they had a "guitar duel" Eric Johnson would make Clapton look like a fool. But they are from a different generation. If you look at them IN their own generaltional time period, Clapton was much better amongst his peers.
