 She had... a brother? Idony's heart did somersaults in her chest as she made her way to the agreed on clearing. She had been born alongside her sister, abandoned angelic kits with no father and an absent mother, and then grown up alone. She had never entertained the possibility that there might have been more relatives somewhere, more siblings spawned by the father she had never known.
But her searching had turned up fruitful results. She had a brother, angelic like herself, who lived nearby. This, Idony felt, could make up for all the time she'd spent alone. Or, at least, she hoped it could. She thought it might. There was a slight chance...
She swallowed her heart back down, sat on a warm rock, and waited. She hoped he'd come.

A sister, a sister- and not just another sibling, but another Angelic like himself. Sure he had his full sister, but she was a Seraphim, and was rarely anywhere to be found. He sighed as he padded quickly through the woods, wings folded tightly to his back. He didn't believe that he had seen her more than once, after all- for that matter, the same went for the rest of his family. He often tried not to think about it, but the emptiness where family should have been often got to him.
Amber eyes looked forward as the trees thinned, stomach dropping as he spotted another kitsusagi seated there. That blue... he looked to his own fur, recognizing the shade to be the same as his. So they both had that from their father, at least. Stepping from the tree line and into plain sight, he tilted his head to the side, one paw lifted in mid-step. He opened his mouth, unsure of what to say. What did you say to a half-sister you had never met, anyways? Swallowing hard, he set his expression back to calm, thinking more along the lines of acting the hero he knew he was.
"You must be... my sister?"

Idony nodded and studied who she supposed was her brother, following his own logic. He had dark blue fur, the shade of royal blue she barely ever saw anywhere besides herself for that matter. (She'd always wondered where she'd gotten it. Their father, then.) And the sort of sea-foam tones they shared, too, though his stripes were different from hers.
She stood up and took a few steps forward.
"My name's Idony," she said. "I'm guessing you're my brother."
Now that sounded truly strange. She had never acknowledge him out loud before, never even said the word. It felt alien to her.

Yes, his sister- it seemed strange to him, being able to refer to the kitsusagi before him as his sibling, but it was the truth, and he was more than happy to finally speak with a relative. His ears pricked forward as she moved towards him, a soft smile crossing his face at her introduction. Idony? Such a sweet name; it couldn't have been more fitting for his sibling.
"Vahiron," he replied simply, tipping his head, "Is the name they gave me. I would assume, as well, that you are my sister, then." He took a few steps closer, shaking his head to ruffle his fur as he did so. "It's strange... we're all adults now, yet we've never met. It's really not how a family should work." He sighed softly, shaking his head again. "But... I am glad at least, that I have been able to meet you." A grin spread across his face. This was his sister, his own little princess; he would protect her until the day he died, that was for sure.

Idony smirked a bit, warming up. "How does a family work, anyway?" she asked. She didn't know. She'd never had one. Not until now, at least, but this brother, this Vahiron, seemed nice. It was strange to think that, had she never bothered looking for him, she could have spent her whole life without ever finding him.
She fidgeted a bit. "I've got a full sister," she twittered, "Her name's Eirian. I haven't seen her since we were little, though. Mum named us and left, and then Eirian was always a bit bigger than me, and she flew off one day and left me alone."
She didn't have to be alone, now, though, she reminded herself.
"Do you," she stammered, forcing the words out. It was the question she wanted to ask more than anything, but it was also the hardest, "Do you know anything about our father?"

"A family... a family should be loving." he replied confidently, nodding as he spoke, "They should all share a tight bond, and even if they fight every now and then, nothing should get in the way of that bond." He seemed satisfied with his definition. "I mean, I don't know for certain, but that's what I think."
He listened as she spoke of her sister. He, too, had a sister, after all... not that he had ever seen her more than the moment in which they had both hatched. "I have a sister as well," he began, thinking for a moment, "Though... I do not know her name. In fact, I've never seen her more than once. I hatched first, was named, and left shortly after. She was... a Seraphim." A pause. "That's what our father must have been, am I correct?" Why would she know? He felt almost like a jerk for asking, but he knew that she would probably come to the same conclusion as him. Her next question came, and he pondered a response for a moment.
"Aside from that assumption..." he replied, "Not much. He obviously had very handsome colors and patterns, though, to produce two beautiful kitsusagi such as ourselves." He smiled broadly and laughed; he could definitely get used to having a sister again.

"I think..." said Idony. "I guess he must have been." She looked down at her paws in wonderment and then tried to smile. "I guess he must have!" she said. "I don't know any seraphim personally," she added, "I don't think I've seen any colored like us. But I could start looking?"
At the mention of his sister, her ears perked up. "Do you... do you think there might be even more of us?" she asked tentatively.

Vahiron looked at his own paws, their fur slightly shaggy and long. Remnants of the long, flowing fetlocks that seemed to accompany Seraphim? Must be. Ears twitching to listen, he shifted to shrug his shoulders. "Perhaps," he replied, "There may be, but I wouldn't be too sure. We could look, though; I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to find another relative, after all."
Amber eyes wandered down to the sprawling cyan stripes across his pelt. Yes, that color wasn't just anywhere; it was distinct. At least, that's what he though about them. "Though I'm sure we have other siblings down different family lines."

Idony looked at her own fur, fixing on the cyan stripes. From what she remembered of her mother, she hadn't been that color, not in that stripy way.
"The dark blue's from him, I think," she nodded, "And this sort of greenish sky color. We've both got it," she noticed. "It can't be a coincidence."
Idony sighed deeply and settled down on her haunches. "We could look for him, but I don't necessarily know that I want to."
