Tejasvi'Nila & Kianga

Tejasvi had seperated from Kianga before dawn, as custom required, and would not see her until they met for the final time before entering the clearing of the ceremony. It had been a long, hard day, and she was glad that it was finally almost over. She had not realized how much she depended upon Kianga, especially when she was troubled. Thinking about what lay ahead of them, the ceremony and the weight of it, had caused her to become quite nervous. Tejasvi was never the nervous sort, to say the least, and had spent most of the day walking the borders in an attempt to calm her rapidly beating heart.

As she watched the sun sink lower upon the horizon, she had grown more and more anxious. Now the sun's tip shone just barely above the edge of the land, and once it had disappeared, she could then lay her eyes back upon her beloved companion. They would stay together until the sun's light passed from the earth, and then go together in the darkness of night to the final ceremony. She had seen the rituals a dozen times, helped perform them, but she had never been on this end of the ceremony. In the morning, they would wake as one, and that put butterflies deep into the pit of her stomach.

Outwardly, she was the stoic queen everyone knew and looked up to, and only the slightly nervous shifting of her eyes could give it away. She was awaiting the one soul that could calm her, put her at ease, and the same soul that would go into this with her.

Not knowing what was expected her caused the lioness to prowl restlessly from side to side; she'd been seperated from her soulmate before the ceremony, as was required. However, this didn't mean she had to LIKE it, and indeed... she spent her restless time very much NOT liking it. At all. Her heart felt heavy inside her chest as she waited, but patience was something she'd gathered during her time as a rogue.

Unlike Tejasvi, Kianga did not know what the ceremony held for her; she knew what it'd all mean once it was finished, yes, but she knew not what the actual ceremony consisted of. Needless to say, the notion she was walking into unknown territory was frightening in a way; but if she'd learnt something during her stay within the pride was to swallow her fear in favour of becoming a better person.

It was only when the sun finally sunk behind the horizon that the lioness finally allowed herself to pad towards where her heart longed to be; beside Tejasvi. It'd been nerve-wrecking, staying away from the blue lioness for that whole day. Not due to the distance, but rather due to the notion that she was NOT allowed to go to her; it had increased the NEED to be beside the queen to almost unbearable levels. Soon it would be over, she thought to herself as she moved elegantly through the jungle, deliberately slowing her step so as not to appear too anxious, wishing to look calmer than she felt. In fact, few could have noticed the anxiety that was eatting at the pink female's heart as she moved through the darkened jungle; only Tejasvi could see beyond that facade.

Tejasvi heard the sound of approaching paws and her eyes shifted immediately in the direction that she could hear the approacher. Her ears perked, and she pushed herself to stand, peering through the darkness that was beginning to settle on the area. They didn't have long before pitch blackness creeped in upon them, but it was better than no time with her before this at all.

"Kianga," she said softly as she saw the bright form of her soul mate approaching, her tail lashing behind her as a weak smile spread across her maw. Even at this distance, she could see the concentration as plain as day upon the other, and knew that she must be feeling something akin to what was in her own heart. She moved forward, until she could bring herself face-to-face with her, and let out a deep sigh as she leaned her head against the side of Kianga's.

"I'm getting nervous," she admitted finally, softly, to the confidence of her loving companion.

"Welcome to my world," came the soft murmur as Kianga allowed her own head to lean forth; the single, innocent touch was enough to bring her worries to a hault though. Taking a deep breath, the lioness inhaled her mate's scent in an attempt to calm herself down entirely; granted, it was probable no one else would notice her anxiety, but that didn't mean it wasn't there. Now that she was by Tejasvi's side though, she felt it all slowly melting away... till it was nothing of concequence.

Suddenly, she had to wonder how she'd managed to make it through the day; Tejasvi was as important to her, as she was to the queen. They suited eachother, and somehow managed to make their troubles and worries go away; it was a wonder they'd both managed to live through the stressful day without being able to see eachother. It'd all have been so much easier if they'd been allowed to lay together, watching the day slip away. But then again, this wasn't about 'easy', she figured, "How'd you manage?" of course, she was commenting on how the day had gone, a crack of a smile peeking at the corner of her maw, "I've been moddy."

Soon enough, it would be time to go. Soon enough... they would be one, to the eyes of the pride and the world about them.

She smiled weakly at Kianga's comment, the words making her heart lighter from their simple tone. She leaned slightly into her mate, taking in her scent, feeling the warmth against her own, and letting the rhythm of her breathing calm her own. Being this close to her was enough to make her feel more at peace. She knew the trial had been meant to test their bond, and as far as she had ever seen of bonded mates before, this was normal. This was expected.

"Not very well," she said with a weak laugh, pulling back just enough to look into Kianga's eyes. "I stalked around the borders, kind of.. hoping someone might be there to talk and keep me occupied. There was no one, of course." She had done it alone, suffered alone, even as Kianga had done so back in the depths of the pride. That was what they were meant to do, but it didn't mean that she had to like it. She had a feeling that she faired better than Kianga, knowing what she was going into, but law forbid her of speaking of it.

"It'll all be over soon," she whispered softly, turning to stare behind them towards the clearing where she knew the observers were gathered. "Tomorrow, we'll start a new life together, and it'll all be worth it."
