Welcome everyone to Solace Scents, Spring Event! I apologize that things had to get off to such a shakey start, but we must always expect hiccups along the way now shouldn't we?
This event takes place from May 20th till June 3rd. During this time a multitude of activities will occur with a range of prizes from Scents and Items, to Gold and Art. I hope you all have a load of fun.
This thread will be used as the general RP thread throughout the whole Event, so make yourselves comfortable awhile.
--------------------------- The sun shown brightly behind a few scattered clouds that day, heating Cyrus City to a very comfortable seventy-five degrees. Olivia and Ment were feverishly putting the final touches on the tables set up outside along their little street. Their little spring event of sorts taking place in a matter of moments.
Ment was especially excited. Olivia was selling three new exclusive Scents today, and hopefully, finding a home for another. Poor thing, he thought to himself, it never deserved to be abandoned. As he let the thoughts swirl about his head, he mindlessly arranged the burners, oils, and candles in nice little arrangements as if he was some professional sales representative. It was fun to watch.
"Ment hurry it up." Olivia barked, "People are gonna be here soon and you don't even have the raffle table set up yet."
Ment was suddenly jerked out of his thoughts by Olivia's demanding voice and meander his way to the table, pulling out the slips of paper and pencils and the raffle mahcine. It wasn't even that much of a machine, it was a cylindrical device with an opening you shoved the paper in. And to actually raffle all you did was crank the handle a little to spin it around and pull a slip of paper out. He didn't see what the big deal was.

Amryx had never helped host an event like this before; it sort of reminded her of those Balls that used to be held every year on Gaia, except that this was smaller and she was wearing something really stupid.
"Crap," She sighed as her big, fake leafy wings knocked over yet another display that she just spent 15 minutes setting up. Why was she wearing this stupid costume? At least Adrian wasn't here to make fun of her weight.
Speaking of...
Amryx poked her head out the door of the shop, taking another glance around the front of the store.
"Um, Olivia? Ment? Have either of you seen Adrian?"
In retrospect, maybe kicking him out of the shop was a bad idea.

Ment looked up from what he was setting up and shaked his head at Amryx, a little nervously. "I haven't seen him since the other day." He laugh shakily, "Maybe he went back to brood in that ditch...."
"I haven't seen him either." Olivia commented, putting the finishing touches on the out door arrangements and food. Mnn. Festivities, she loved to host them when she had the money. Hate to have hosted when she seen how broke she was afterwards.

It was about then that Samuel arrived, holding Polly's hand. The man was dressed in a white suit, unbuttoned and with no tie, with a pale green dress shirt beneath. Polly, however, flaunted a pale pink spaghetti strap top and quilted spring-pastel skirt that billowed about him whether or not there was any real breeze.
"Good afternoon!" Samuel chimed happily. Polly just giggled and waved at the women. He didn't know the green one. Was she a fairy?!

Olivia's head perked up when she heard a voice, looking around curiously she noticed Samuel and Polly heading towards them. She quickly tapped down the end of a table cloth and walked over to greet them both.
"Hello and Welcome!" She chirped, looking over the two with a smile, "You have a very pretty skirt there, Polly. It brings out your hair."
She looked up at Samuel, giving him the same curteousy, "I like the shirt." She stated with a smile. "It really flatters you."

"Ah, here's the place! Looks like an opportune time to come in, don't you think?"
Little Phoenix looked up to xir mother and blinked. "Why are we here again, New Ma? I mean, I don't smell so strange I belong at a scented store."
"Well, that man I met implied that we might find some answers by coming here. And his boy smelled like churros. Can't really argue with that logic. He may know something we don't." Dr. Azalea Brick took her new child's hand and entered into the little shop she had never entered before--Solace Scents. Immediately, her nose was assaulted with a variety of smells. "Well, I can certainly tell this is a store of scent oils."
Phoenix giggled. Xe still thought xir mother was silly for actually believing that a scent oil store could have anything to do with xir medicinal scent. "Of course!" Well, at least there seemed to be a lot of people coming. It must have been a party. Even if xir mother was being a tad ridiculous, people to talk to was a favorite of xirs.
Now just to find someone to ask. Azalea let go of her child's hand so she could wander towards the people at the party. Hopefully, they wouldn't mind her ridiculous questions. As a scientist, she was determined to get to the bottom of this. Phoenix would rather go sniff the scent oils for sale.

Ment looked up as Dr. Brick entered the shop, responding faithfully to the jingling bell Olivia always had above the shop door to make them aware of someone's presence in the shop. Afterall, don't want people stealing things now did they?
"Hello~" Ment smiled, pandering his way over from the table he was setting up. "Are you here for the party?"
Ment was about the recommend the Trivia table when an unfamiliar Scent hit his nostrils. It smelled like clean, but Pine smelled reminded him of clean. It also....also smelled kinda sweet. This....This reminded him of something....Something he couldn't describe.
He looked down, noticing the fair haired boy with his brilliant green eyes. He adressed him bluntly with a quirked head, "We haven't met ever have we?..."

Aha! She had already gotten someone's attention. It was a teenager, but he seemed to carry the distinct smell of peppermint that cleared her nostrils without question. Perhaps this young boy had some answers. "Well, sort of. See--"
Phoenix shook xir head. Cutting xir mother off, Phoenix confirmed, "Nope!" Since they hadn't met before, xe decided it was appropriate to introduce xirself. "My name's Phoenix." Instead of offering xir hand, xe took the teenager's hand and shook it. Then, xe dropped it. "What's yours?"
Azalea immediately cut in before the teenager could answer Phoenix's question. "Well, see, I found this child, Phoenix that is, one day in the hospital, and xe had the distinct smell of medicine. I suspected it because xe washed xirself with medicinal soaps, but it's been a few months since xe's s been living with me and xe still smells like medicine! It's a bit odd. A man with a churro-scented kid recommended I come here and ask about it?"
Phoenix pouted. "New Ma, you're silly." Xir pout quickly changed into a smile as xe turned xir attention to the teenager in front of xir. Again, xe tried to ask, "What's your name?"

Mirra had been walking around town again, just getting out and enjoying the sunny day while trying to familiarize herself more with the charming town she'd recently moved to when she found herself walking past the scent shop again. Having been there awhile ago and purchased one of their scents, Mirra thought that she might as well stop by and see what all was going on.
The slim jaguar anthro walking up towards the shop a bit hesitantly, her long black hair pulled into a ponytail high on her head, violet eyes scanning the small crowd that was there. They all seemed to be connected, or familiar with each other, though there was several different scents that assulted her sensitive nose, wondering where they were call comming from. Wearing a pair of blue jeans, black thong sandals and a light purple summery top, her little one still yet to be revealed to her.

"Thanks!" Polly chirped, doing a little swirl for Olivia. He peered about, and then thrust his thumb toward the shop.
"Is Ment in there?"
Samuel gave a curt little bow.
"Thank you. You look very nice yourself," he said with a slight nod. Olivia certainly was the most ladylike lady he knew.

"My name is Ment." He said, after his hand was abruptly shaken. Generally Ment greeted people with hugs and untolds amounts of affection, but this kid didn't seem like the type to want hugged.
Ment blinked abit at Azalea's story and opened his mouth up widely as if he "eureka'd" something in his head. "Of course he still smells like medicine!" Ment chirped, patting Phoenix's head, "That's the smell of the oil he came from!"
-------
Olivia smiled at Samuel's comment, "Thank you very much," promptly turning her attention to Pollux afterwards. "He's inside the shop, Polly. He'll be very pleased to know you're here."
Olivia noticed an animalistic woman walking towards the group and waved casually to her before looking back to Samuel. "How's Pollux fairing for you?"

Instantly, Azalea became confused. "What? What are you talking about? Ment, I never owned any 'oil.'" This place was definitely unfamiliar, so she had never bought any oils from here. She scrunched her nose. "Not only that, but that doesn't make sense. I mean, I suppose someone else could have owned the oil since I found Phoenix in a lab, but how can a child emerge out of an oil?" That made no sense! In her usual way, she began to ask questions to try to make sense out of Ment's statement.
Even the scent child xirself seemed a bit confused. Xe giggled when xir head was patted, but giggled even more when Ment declared that xe came from an oil. "An oil? That's not scientifically possible!" Being raised by Azalea had a quick influence on Phoenix. Of course, unlike xir confused guardian, Phoenix was still open to the idea of such a magical thing. Phoenix scratched xir head. "I suppose it requires imagination, right? Is it magical?"
"Magical?" Azalea quirked a brow. Well, that would explain a few things about Phoenix that she had not been able to previously understand... nah.
Phoenix laughed cheerfully. "Well, maybe Ment's right, New Ma!"

Well it seemed she'd been spotted, so any ideas that she'd had about going home would seem a bit foolish at this point. It seemed to be some kind of event, so why not mingle a little with the people that were there... get to know someone else in the neighborhood, right?
Waving back, Mirra made her way over towards the small group... still curious about the scents coming from the children, though wasn't going to seem rude by saying something about it. Making her way over towards Olivia since it seemed that she was the one in charge.

Samuel grinned as Poll ran off, shouting Ment's name.
"Loudly," he said affectionately, "He's a sweetheart. A real joy." He would also mention that he didn't remember much of his old family, but this didn't seem the time nor the place.
He then turned to the newly-arrived woman.
"I don't believe we've met," he said with a charming smile.
---
"Ment!" Polly yelped, "I--! Oh. Hi." He frowned at the child he'd never seen before (whose hair he was actually not particularly fond of), catching only the butt-end of the conversation.
"Silly lady, 'course it's possible! I did too!"
Oh, Polly...

"Glad to know he hasn't changed too much." Olivia smiled as Mirra approached turning to her as Samuel did when she arrived, "Welcome. I don't think I've seen you before either. Are you new to this neighborhood Miss...?"
-------
"Well if you didn't own Phoenix's oil than who did?" Ment questioned, perplexed at the thought that an oil had formed a relationship with someone who hadn't even lit it.
"Well of course we're magical, I'll even show yo-" Ment had begun reiterating his statement and proving what they considered his odd theory as fact, when a familiar pink haired child made his way into the shop only to steal Ment's attention with lots of affection, "Polly!"
He picked the child up and gave him lots of hugs.
