Here is where you can suggest ideas and other things that you think would benefit the guild. Don't be afraid to speak your mind.

My suggestion is that we have a detail profile thread so that we know each ones job and character they are playing. And we can get to know each and everyone better this way making it easier to play ^.^

I've a few questions 'fore I jump into the profile fray. First being, what kind of roleplay would it be? I'd love to implement a stat based RP, though a strictly text-based RP would work too.

I just want to bring up this little tidbit, you've got a description as "set in a medieval, fantasy, steampunk setting" which is in a way contradictory. There was no Steam power in the medieval times, it doesn't make much sense. Steampunk is set in the Victorian era. I mean to each his own, but I'm going to have trouble visualizing and making sense of it.

If you know, fantasy can have any type of setting, and their is a game called Iron Kingdoms, and its basicly medieval fantasy steampunk.Fantasy races such as elves, ogruns(Orc), Gobbers(Goblins), dwarves, and gatormen which is he equivelint to d&d's lizard folk.Their is also warjacks and helljacks, which are steam driven and magic controled war machines, similar to golems but more advanced.Their is also other styles of machines which are mechanical, such as prosthetics and some other equipment incluiding the flint lock pistols and rifles. Im just trying to make an easy point

sweatdrop That still doesnt explain the medieval aspect. From that, I've got fantasy and I've got steampunk... you lose me at Medieval. I need an explination of how the middle ages are happening at the same time as the 1800s.

Don't worry 'bout that, that was the description of the previous RP I had going on over here. Like I said, I'm done quite done cleaning this place up. I still want it to be victorian, with a bit of medieval flair, but more on that in a few.

Most fantasy settings are medieval or renaissance, can include steampunk as a aspect, its dificult to explain, but Warmachines, and Iron Kingdoms are that way. edit:
This can include victorian england also, its like shadowrun

Steampunk is a subgenre of speculative fiction, usually set in an anachronistic Victorian or quasi-Victorian alternate history setting. It could be described by the slogan "What the past would look like if the future had happened sooner." It includes fiction with science fiction, fantasy or horror themes.
Medieval Steampunk: Speculative fiction set during the Middle Ages.
Victorian Steampunk: A modern Science Fiction work (post-1930s) that is set in the early parts of the industrial revolution.
Western Steampunk: Science fiction set in the American Old West.
Industrial/Modern Steampunk: Science fiction taking place in the late industrial age, early modern age; i.e. World War 1, World War 2 Examples of steampunk: Wild Wild West Final Fantasy 7 Van Helsing The Time Machine Hellboy Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow by Kankuro Dec 15, 2004 share this

Well, this is what I had in mind.
The RP would be in a different world, not in our World. Why? Because the surface of our planet is pretty much explored, there isn't much to discover, and doesn't leave much to the imagination. In making a large, fictitious world, we give the players the chance go fire up their Steamships, and travel the world, exploring those long forgotten corners of the planet.
Also, it allows for flexibility. Fantasy fits in better if the world is a different one.
What I wanted to do was make a setting, like a D&D book that tells you all about the world and what you can find in it. Flesh it out.

not a bad Idea, it removes the who problem that is Earth history. I may have something that may help jump start this kind of Idea. A Steampunk World I already have how allot of things work out in this set up, not written down, but thought out.
Also here's a link to a Fantasy RPG based on a webcomic, Drowtales As for fantasy RPG's go this one is quite well made and has around 8-9 years under it's belt. If you want a good RPG guild in one world without everyone stepping over each other, then this is the way to do it.
