Light filtered through the rocks above her head, causing dazzling colors to traipse across the ground as they hit the myriad of colors that made up her shining coat. It wasn't as if she were made of anything but pure fur, but the golden colored coat that wrapped around her body made her seem like an angel when Temari was running. The white looked like clouds.
However she currently wasn't running, she was hopping around rocks and digging at random places. One would think she'd gone and lost her mind yet again, however she was merely searching for something, not losing her mind.
It had been years since she'd seen it, before she'd met Jamaa and had two litters of pups, pups she hadn't seen in years as well. Temari was getting older, older than a lot of Wild Dogs left on the savannah save for one wild dog she hadn't seen in years as well. She wasn't as young as she'd been when she would run with the wind, so she decided that it was time nostalgia kicked in.
However that had only been an idea, it was the finding of such a thing that was going to put her in a fit of innability. If Temari had to search much longer for this stupid necklace then she was simply going to throw her paws up in the air and go running with the wind again. It wasn't worth the trouble of finding it as it had been putting it there in the first place.
Her luck something had gone and pulled it from the hiding rock she'd put it behind. Ratel's were the bane of her life sometimes, even if her mate had one he called a familiar and friend. If she had a familiar it would be a nice bird. One that could keep up with her instead of dig holes beneath her paws and make her fall in them.
"Yes, a bird would be amazing." Temari sang in her bright voice.

It had been a while since he'd parted ways with Jareth. The hare still occupied his mind, but more out of curiousity than anything else. Was he alright? Raka wouldn't know. He wouldn't ask.
He'd finally felt acceptance, too, at the passing of Adia. Now... He simply wandered, with no destination in mind.
The brown dog paused, tilting his head to listen. He remembered something Jareth had once said, early on when they were guide and guided.
"Listen to your heart, you will understand."
Closing his eyes, he turned his nose into the wind. A smile lit up his maw before he jumped, rearing up on his hind paws while letting out a howl of greeting. He'd learned something in years of being around Adia, and he'd often heard his daughters do it. Then Cushti Bok had done it... And now he did. He sang, calling to the one he smelled and knew.

Paws froze as she kept digging at one of the rocks, persistant and grumbling under her breath about ratels and how she wanted a bird, by the gods, and would have one if she got her way. The voice that rose over the wind was one she'd not heard in years. Memories of being a pup curled up beside someone else rang through her head.
Slowly she brought both of her paws down to the large boulder she was standing on and Temari lifted her head to respond to the howl. Her's was higher, brighter, happy.
Raaaaaaakaaa!
Her brother was back, her brother that Temari hadn't seen in years, in more than years really. It seemed like a lifetime had passed since she'd seen her littermate.
Necklace forgotten, Temari hurled herself from off the rock and ran in the direction of her brother's scent.

Launching forward, he raced to greet his sister in person. It was as if the life had been put back into the wild dog, all sorrows forgotten.
Leaping a log, Raka soon found himself slowing down. As revitalized as he was... He wasn't young. Pausing in his steps, he sniffed for where his sister was, then continued on until he saw her.
Tail wagging, he let out a new howl, a happy one of reunion. Forgetting his fatigue, he hurried over, circling her with happy yips and whines.

For the longest time Temari had wondered what had become of her brother, wondered if he was happy and healthy somewhere else. Because she had decided to stay with the Mpinzani rather than hunt him down, Temari wasn't quite sure anymore. At least until this moment.
Wagging her tail like a pup, Temari licked her brother's nose and sniffed about him brightly. He looked healthy, still much larger than she herself, he'd always been larger if she remembered him correctly.
The steps he took seemed to be older, wearier than they'd been when she'd met him the first time so many years ago. Now he looked his age, though he didn't show it in anything other than his steps.
Even Temari didn't show it, must have been in their blood or something. Her's was thanks to a miraculous metabolism that kept her running even though the years should have weighed her down beyond that ability.
"Raka! It's been so long since I last saw you! Where've you been brother?" Temari bubbled brightly, wagging her tail and pawing at him.

Stopping to rub against her, his tail continued to wag. "I've missed you, Temari!" His eyes danced with the knowledge that his sister was alive and well, with the joy at being in her presence.
"I've been..." He stopped, clearly struggling to not crumble. "I've been alright. My children scattered to the four winds, and Adia's..." The dog trembled, closed his eyes a moment, breathed, then opened them again. "Adia's passed on.... But I think I'll be alright..."
Almost instantly, he seemed to bounce back, gently butting his head against her. "What about you? How have you been?"

Sadness passed across Temari's eyes, blocking all else as she felt her heart cry for her brother. How would she feel if Jamaa died? How would she feel if she were left all alone without her mate while her children were broken and gone from her grasp?
Wretched. That's how she'd feel.
"I'm so sorry Raka." Temari said as softly as she could, nuzzling his neck as her tail crept between her legs. "If there's anything... I can do."
She knew how much he loved his mate, just as she loved her own. How must he feel?
"I've... been getting better now. Better now that my mind is back and my mate is at my side. It doesn't matter that my own children have all left, I know all children do at some time."
Slowly Temari's tail began to wag once more, back where it usually was instead of between her legs in sadness.
