entry|5/14/08: yeah! I finaly have a journal! now I just need to post soot in the stats thread. just for the sake of memory and kindness, thankyou everyone in the ph guild and I am greatful to the staff for the chance to do something fun here. also thanks poke for updating the journals when no one else did... since january sweatdrop .

  Name: soot type: bug gender:male lv: 25 (7/27) ablility biggrin ust Shield biggrin amaging moves used by opponent will not have an additonal effect attacks: tackle;nrml string shot;bug held item:none bio: soot is a normal pokemon; calm and mostly obiediant, but still energetic. he lived in dunbar forest for the entiredy of his 'wild' life. he dislikes heights and birds like most bugs and loves trees and flowers, mostly for eating. he does like to shoot string shot in to peoples faces, mainly gigaus's, and if he gets talked around in circles, which gigaus does, he becomes annoyed and then shoots. though not gigaus's usual choice for a battle partner, soot is good for slowing down the enemy, if only momentarialy, with his SS. he will latch onto his trainer's wrist and acts like a wrist gun (....), firing on command. he rarely leaves this position to tackel because of his size. (soot: I don't wanna be squashed!! gonk )

days back:1-3 weather:sunny with drizzle
it's been a while since I'v been back from my "mountain retreat", about a day or so. I'm in a region that my laptop can't identify which means I haven't been here before. even so I would at least get a signal from one of the "cargo" crates, but .... I don't know what year it is so for all I know this is a region that formed at some point. that or a region or island that has recently been colonized.
either way, I need to build a home base. I found some abanodned planks of wood and I can probaly build a crude house from local materials in this forest.
oh, I forgot I returned in a forest and during a bug catching contest. I joined and got a caterpie. I named it soot. not sure why but it will do. he seems ok, the only thing is he keeps shooting string shot into my face. if it weren't my mask I'd be stuck with goo on my face.
well it's starting to drizzle again, better get to that "house". I'm setting up my home becon under the roof I started. for memory's sake, I'm writing down it's location. *under the entery is a map. theres a bunch of puffs that are probaly trees and a square labeled "house", theres a "*" in the square close to a cluster of trees.*

days back:7 weather:cold and clear progress:roof and makeshift walls
I'v got the walls to my home up....sorta. I'v used the trees nearby to support the wood that I'v nailed together. I used the lashing string I had in my equipment pack to "tie" the walls to the trees;I'm eventually going to build a real frame for the house so I don't want to permanently attach them and I don't want to harm the trees.
I'v set most my tech equipment up. if I get lost at any point I'll at least know where home is. the weather has declined of recent. it's got colder and theres no clouds, that could mean I'm somewhat inland or the local water cycle is out of balance... I have no idea where I am, for all I know I'm on a moutain side!... get the old "job" is still in my head somewhat.
soot, the caterpie I caught, seems ok given the cold. he really doesn't what I'm saying exept a few words I think. just yes, no, don't, good, and food. I think he understand no and don't but he still shots me in the face even when I say not to. he seems like a good pokemon but he some what of a trickster. he'll whine or knock something over to get my attention and when I turn he shots me! he has helped me; stoped a branch from falling on me, helped whold the walls while I lashed them and cover the cracks in them. his string shot is a curse and a blessing.
it's getting dark. I'm going out to find wood for a fire. I just hope nothing happens to me...

well I wasn't no a mountain but I was inland. appreantly I'm on an island called tentou and thats all I know at this point. I'v been in a nearby pokemon center. life as I left it hasn't changed much, so I'm not out of date yet. I had soot checked out here all day and I'v been working on getting more supplies for the house. I'v also been stuffing myself with ramen while I was here and it was GOOOD!
soot's exam is done and he's ready to get going. now that I have a translator I can understand him but I think I'll continue to try to understand his pokespeak and teach him mine when we have the time.

location: snow mountain
me and soot are travling around tentou, getting a detailed map of the island. the ones made be who mappers are bearly anything. no details, no markers, nothing. anyway, we saw a mountain covered is snow and soot had no idea what snow was. I never did ask how old he is. we're making our way to it to clime to the top. from there we can see more of the containent, see things we may want to look into.
#another entry has been made on this page under the first. it marked 'appendege'#
we're at the base of the mountain. soot is shivering like crazy. I'm worried he won't be able to handle the cold here. with that being said, I should begin training him for combat, starting with elemental conditioning so the envrioment can't take advantge of him.
I'm writing this entry as a last testament incase something happens to us. I know I can servive this mountain, but in case I'm wrong, I have left my will and testoment in my house. there's a poted flower; the flower is fake but the soil is real. in such is part of my will and a memory card. do not lose either...
