It's 1920 and Prohibition's been in affect for a year now, and the entire United States is dry. Moonshiners, people who brew their own booze, have popped up and are making money off their illegal shine.
It's sunny San Diego, California, Cortez Hill, next to Balboa Park, has a great view of the Bay. There's a few normal houses on Cortez Hill, they're spread out, there's the John Ginty house and the Mayfair, the two largest on the very top of the Hill.
John Ginty owns both houses, one his family lives in, the other houses his secret double life, the Mayfair is a whorehouse. In the basement there's a speakeasy, where shipments of illegal shine, and beer come in every day. Flappers and young men in Zoot Suits frequent the speakeasy at night.
John Ginty and his wife, Margaret Jean have one daughter, Doris Ruth. Doris Ruth is now old enough to realize that her father's up to something suspicious, and wonders how he can afford so much luxurious things with his part time job at the factory downtown. She follows him one night to the Mayfair, she threatens to tell her mother, but John struck up a deal. She can come with him whenever she wants to.
Doris Ruth has now entered her father's business, helping him tend the bar in the basement. She's only been upstairs in the whorehouse a couple times, she has no business there. Working there has helped her create a group of close businessmen. There's the Rum Runner, who ships all the booze to them in the early mornings, two other bartenders, the doorman who makes the password different every night so as not to get any 'Pigs' inside, and the speakeazie's customer who's there every night.
Inside the speakeasy, it's weapon free, the doorman checks everyone at the door, so that there will be no high profile killings to give away the location of the speakeasy.
The doorman has reported to her that there's been a few 'pigs' hanging around outside. He thinks there must be someone inside giving information to the police. Doris Ruth didn't believe him at first until one night a couple of them stopped her and asked her where she was headed. She pulled it off by saying she wasn't paying attention to where she was going and meant to go home, which is right on the corner of the next street.
She needs to find out who the snitch is and put him away for good, who could it be?

Gaian Name TeHsChNoZbErRy Name: Lillian Morgans Age(nothing under 17): 19 Gender: female Description (no pictures please): soft rounded features, a small dainty nose. short curly blonde hair and big brown eyes. Pale skin, full lips and a small but filled out body. Background: Lillian was born and raised with her father and mother. She kept quiet for most of her years, and was considered a model girl. Until boys started teasing her. she fought back, and her 'model girl' appearance soon slipped into a trouble maker reputation. She ended up at the Mayfair after losing most of her money to her exboyfriend, and became a prostitute. Personality: a sweet, funloving girl. slightly manipulative and has a bad temper. She dislikes when people disrespect her. Even if she's a prostitute, she has her dignity.
Rum Runners:
Gaian Name: Master Strategist Kess Name: Joe Digger Age: 32 Gender: Male Description: Joe is a skinny guy who wears a white button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He also wears a stylish black hat, black suspenders, black slacks, and black shoes. He almost always has a cigarette or toothpick in his mouth. He leans back a little, making him seem shorter than the tall, lanky man he is. He has dark hair and eyes, and a pale complexion. Background: Joe was originally Joseph McReynalds, the son of two Irish immigrants whom made their way to Boston. His dad muscled his way into the police force, while his mom stayed home and took care of the small army she popped out. His dad taught him to keep an eye on the Irish, and to defend them before anyone else. Joseph found out about the underworld at a young age, and soon got into bootlegging. His dad supported this, and made sure the cops were looking the other way whenever he did decide to smuggle.
Eventually the cops started investigating Joseph a little too closely, and he decided to leave the family and go to California, where he could be away from the Boston cops. Joe changed his name, and found a nice niche in San Diego where he wasn't asked many questions. He continued to bootleg for whoever paid him well enough, and generally he keeps a good ear to the docks for anything interesting coming in. He has an interest in brokering deals for such contraband, especially selling such information to those who will pay well, when he dislikes the person the shipment is coming in for. Personality: Joe is quiet and smug. He knows he's good, and this could be arrogance, except for he proves it. He rarely talks, so truthfully he only has his reputation to speak for him. Now he helps with the Ruth family, specifically keeping tabs on Doris. He enjoys watching the kid, treating her as a daughter of his own from time to time, and taking her on smuggling runs to show her the ropes. Aside from Doris and those who pay him, he generally says little to nothing to them, for he's a man of very few words.
Gaian name: Partydude11 Name: Charles miller Age: 18 Gender: male Description: 6,4 with rich brown hair. Has jade green eyes that match his undershirt. wears a tan fedora with matching pants and trench coat. Though when not on a run, wears a regular tan coat. Also wears pitch black shoes. Background: Born into a family of river boaters, his father rivered in the city's liquor. He was an old friend of ginty and so, he makes sure he has plenty of liquor for his bar. He even had his son, charles, who was just out of school, work for him as a rumrunner. Charles was happy to help him and began to wear his father's old trench coat during his runs. His resolve to help ginty only deeped when his father died in a boat fire caused by a rival bar owner. Personality: Fun-loving and a bit annoying to people he meets at first. He respects older people however and usually has smile on his face.
The Bartenders:
Gaian Name: Suicidal_dream Name: William "Billy" Cooper Age(nothing under 17): 25 Gender: Male Description (no pictures please): A 6'4" blonde with green eyes. His hair is usually slicked back and is very stiff. Will favors the three-piece suit since it shows off his athletic body very well. Colors range from gray to tweed, but he likes gray more. Always trying to look his best for his customers in case someone important comes in. His favorite items are his shoes; a patent black and white leather combination. He has a toned, athletic build from when he was a bartender (and doubled as a 'bouncer') in his old bar. After all, drunks are hard to deal with. Background: His family had been in the alcohol business for generations, stemming from Ireland. So when prohibition kicked in, of course, the business shut down. William's older brother had inherited the bar and William was the bartend when their father died and it was barely open a year before it shut down. Refusing to let his family's legacy go to shame, he continued to bartend even after his brother quit. Eventually, his services ended up in the Mayfair. He has become quite popular since he is very attractive. While he doesn't have a lot of money, his lady-callers take care of his needs. Personality: He respects all the women in the Mayfair. The men... are a different story. He's very friendly (and flirty to the women) so most everyone likes him. He's not afraid to get serious, however, when a customer gets out of hand. While it might not be his job to take care of those people, he still feels he has the responsibility as the bartender. When some of the girls aren't getting attention upstairs and need the money, he has a habit of buying them for the night and then just talking.
The Doorman:
Gaian Name: Solomon Marquis Name: Robert "Robby Rick" Rickman Age: 19 Gender: Male Description: Robert is 6'2" and weighs around 176 lbs. He has fair skin and his relatively thin, though those who know him know better than to assume that he is weak. He wears his thick blonde hair slicked-back with his favorite Dapper Dan pomade. His eyes are dark brown, as are his eyesbrows despire his hair and ee has a brown goatee that has not entirely filled in. His overall complexion is flawless and his body features are well defined. He is typically seen wearing black shoes, black slacks, a gray shirt, and a brown coat. Background: Robert was born to Edwin and Karen Rickman. He grew up in a relatively privilaged home, his parents both having come from "old money". This kind of life got him into many fights, mostly due to the fact that he was wealthier than most other kids. Robert was a natural-born fighter, having never started a fight and never lost a fight. He is currently the doorman at the local speakeasy, enjoying the company of friends and the excitement of roughing-up troublemakers. Personality: Robert is comical, analytical, charismatic, passionate, and friendly

"Mmm..." Lillian stretched. She got out of the bed, wrapping a robe around herself. "MMmmmm, nother round?" The man grinned at her. "Not tonight. Go grab yourself a drink." Lillian grabbed her clothes and slipped into them. The man yawned. "Oh fine." Lillian slipped out of the house and into the basement, looking around.

It wasn't exactly opening time and yet Doris Jane was unlocking the door to the basement of the Mayfair. She wanted to make sure the bar was ready for her customers that night and that the shine, beer and liquor was stocked. She paced around the now empty room, checking to make sure everything was clean.
She was sweeping the dusty floor when her father walked in. "Doris, hun, you're mother's starting to get worried that you're working too much," He said to her.
"Daddy, I'm not working too much, this is a business after all. It's not gonna clean itself," she shook the broom at him. He laughed.
"Well, she wants to spend more time with you, she wants to take you shopping, and remember not to let slip anything about your actual job, ok?" He hugged his daughter and took the broom from her. She embraced the hug and happily let go of the broom.
"Mum's the word!" She told him. She skipped out of the basement and as she was climbing up the steps to the basement, bumped into Lillian, one of the more prosperous whores of the Mayfair. Men love younger women.
"Hi Lillian," Doris Jane greeted. "Sorry about that, I should really be watching were I'm going."

Doris Jane was floored. "Lillian!" She ran back into the basement and hugged her from behind. "You completely ignored me! You can't be that addicted to the shine, can you?" She laughed it off, that was the relationship they had. Her father laughed at the whole scene.

"Ok," she laughed some more. "Aren't you busy every night anyways?" She chided her friend. She looked at her father and was given one of his looks. She was reminded of her mother waiting for her at home. "I have to get going, let us catch up later," she hugged Lillian again and left for home.

"I'm fine," he set the broom against the wall and walked over to the bar. "We're not even open yet and you're already ordering your usual." He pulled down a glass, dusted it off with a bar cloth and took down a bottle of his best shine and poured some into the glass.
