Having talked through things with Shiri, Meme felt even less hesitation in coming to Pride Rock to get a better feeling for what all was going on. Having only formally met Kami, Sarakiva and Akida, it was Akida that she came looking for, though she wouldn't have been surprised to find him busy. Whatever confidence and optimism she'd had while talking to Shiri seemed to have been left behind, and though she now wondered if she might only be intruding she didn't slow down when she reached the path to the plateau of the rock.
"Akida?" she called, walking up near the dens.

Simi's ear flicked, curious on just who called out for his brother. Simi hadn't seen him for a bit, but he didn't feel the need to worry. They were all a mess in some aspects, and was sure that he would return soon to his usual self.
He popped his head out of the cave, ears perked forward as he saw the approaching female. She was aged, one that he didn't recognize, but there was something vaugly familiar. Simi must have seen her around here before, right? His memory was awful lately.
"May I help you?" he asked, slowly taking a couple steps out of the den to greet the visitor.

Meme was surprised when an unfamiliar lion appeared from the den, though his eyes and the color of his mane gave good hints at who he might be. There were so many royal youths, as Akida had very kindly listed for her when they had their little chat. There was no chance Meme could even guess who this might be, though. The only trouble now was trying to explain why she was nosing around and who she was.
"I'm sorry to intrude," she said apologetically, continuing with a slight pause, "I'm Memetuka, I came to see how everyone was doing.." It was an awkward way of putting it, since the general feeling of concern was hard to miss, but it could easily be explained with a full introduction which was hesitantly withheld.

Simi nodded his head, a tired smile offered to the lioness. "There is no need for an apology," he said, offering another nod. There never should be when the Pridelands were open to all. The den for the royals should always be open, as well.
"We are fairing as best we can," he said with a small sense of hope. He had faith in the group to bring his mother and Sarakiva back. He had to, or else he wouldn't be able to keep his smile strong for everyone that he spoke to. "Is there someone that you wanted to see specifically?"
A surprised look appeared on his fave for a moment, along with a small chuckle. "Not sure if you know which one I am," he started, used to the whole 'you're one of the royal kids!' comments from his cubhood. "Simi is my name."

It was good to see him smiling, she noted. Her confidence edged back towards the surface, the pride always made it through bad times and there were so many volunteers trying to help.. Meme shook her head when he asked about if she wanted to see someone specifically, she came looking for Akida because she knew him- and she would like to check in with him, but talking to someone was just as well where Akida was out.
"Simi," she repeated with a small smile at his 'which one', "It's very nice to meet you. I suppose I should introduce myself properly, and maybe stop being so awkward- I'm your great aunt. I was your grandmother's sister."

"Oh?" Simi said, quiet at first. It wasn't that he didn't trust her, but it was more of the fact that he was learning so many things in such a short amount of time that it took a moment for things to sink in.
Instantly, though, he let his shoulders droop, falling to a more casual stance. It was refreshing, and the male couldn't help but let out a light laugh.
"What a relief," he said, his red-brown eyes dancing as he looked at her with a new life. "With my family falling apart, it's always so comforting to know that there are still some left." With a bit of thought, it was obvious; he had no surviving grandparents, and with both of his parents gone, as well as one sibiling, it was rocky ground at the moment.
Simi's mind couldn't help but drift to Tufah for a moment, wanting advice on how to get through it....but he pushed the thought away quickly. They were still at odds, and he didn't know if it would ever get any better.
"Memetuka....it's such a pleasure, then," he said softly with a small bow, thrilled beyond words but knowing better than to dance around like a joyous cub.

Meme herself was quite relieved to have said it and by his reaction. Again she was being shown just how silly her worries could be, and hopefully now it would get less and less awkward to introduce herself- though it was doubtful she'd ever manage to meet all of her nieces and nephews, having heard just how far and wide the family went now.
"The pleasure's all mine," she replied with a smile, "I'm very sorry about your mother and sister, I'd have gone to help myself but my daughter needs my help here." And now Shiri would probably try to come and visit with her cousins here, her lifetime without relatives and learning she's related to a good deal of the Pridelands..

Simi shook his head. "No. I certainly understand. I would have gone myself, but it would look terrible for more of the royal family to leave..." A hint of pain hid within his voice as he looked out down towards the lands, knowing that his sibilings had to be strong for everyone. Doubt was a dangerous thing, as he had learned himself.
"So there's nothing I can help you with?" he asked with a smile. Surely she didn't come up here for anything....right? Simi wasn't sure himself, and he did hate to be a bit pushy, but he wanted to make sure that everything with her was alright. His mindset was more focused on helping others, as it pulled his focus to them and away from his own problems. Family and friend problems, too.

She smiled sadly at him when he explained why he didn't go himself, knowing it would be even harder for someone so much closer to them. It was not just his queen and future-queen who were gone, they were his family, his mother and sister. And he was right, the rest of them were duty-bound and stuck where they were.
"No, I did just want to check in," she murmured, smiling a bit more happily, "Though perhaps you might put up with my visiting a bit more often."

Simi bowed his head down slowly, pausing for a moment before he brought himself back up again. There was comfort in knowing that more family was around. It would make it bearable to share the pain, so they could all support each other. At least, until their return. Simi kept his faith that they would, making each day a little more bearable then the last.
"You're always welcome here, Memetuka," he said with a genuine smile. "Things may be a little crazy now and again, but there'll always be time available to talk to you." He hoped that he didn't sound too formal, but he did mean those words. It would be good to recieve advice and support from someone who knew his grandmother, and even his mother.

"Thank you, Simi," she replied gratefully, not at all minding the formal touch to the friendly and welcoming invitation. It was just further proof of her own ridiculous thoughts and behaviors, she may not have the most confidence but family was undeniably kind, understanding and welcoming. She sighed quietly, a small and genuine smile pulling through.
