User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Today the Priestess of Suzaku was getting a visitor. More importantly, at least in Eruanna's estimation, her son was getting a break from "mom-watching". Seriously, it wasn't healthy to spend all your time doing nothing but making sure your parent wasn't clutzing herself into pointy things. Eru's father made sure to take a break from Diina-watching from time to time, but Eruanna was under the impression that Hotohori didn't. Diina and Miaka got along well enough before they had kids. Surely they could manage one afternoon together without getting into too much trouble.

So upon Miaka's door there came a knocking, and then a pair of voices. "Miaka? I brought grandma over, I thought you two might like a girls afternoon!" "We can make cookies!" And then Eruanna was going to drag Hotohori out to have some fun. Sneaky sneaky.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Inside the room, the priestess of Suzaku's tummy was of course rumbling and she was nearly about to complain to her only son that she was hungry -again- when the knock came. Said son was lying a little to the side of her bed, eyes closed -perhaps to hide their rolling knowing what was to come & wishing his father or sisters were over at that moment- & his lean, fighter's body looking quite exhausted. Hotohori loved his mother, really he did, but... well his life revolved around her and his training. Sure... he could let the others see that she didn't klutz into anything, or burn anything in the kitchen, or otherwise just call disaster to her... but Hotohori saw it as his duty to protect his beloved and sweet mother whenever Tamahome was not with her. He really loved his self imposed duty... but... it was tiring. Even draining.

An unmarked ear lifted at the knock, the warrior not missing how his mother was caught off guard with her mouth open & poised to speak. A slow, slip of a smile graced his lips. A smile that seeing it reminded his mother of her long ago friend, the Emperor for which her son had been named. Her eyes blinked in surprise seeing it. Only for a second as her tummy again rumbled, this time loudly enough to be heard through the door. "Cookies!?!? Diina!!!!"

Chuckling softly at his mother's reaction Hotohori stood gracefully and stretched, beating his mother to the door only because he was closer. Leave it to Mother to pick up on the food first before her friend... "Good afternoon, ladies." Hotohori greeted as he opened the door and stepped with fighter's grace to the side so that his mother & Adiina could 'attack' each other in their exuberance without taking him down as well. Just in time too, for the priestess had managed to get to her paws and was leaping for her friend. Really... it was too bad her best friend Yuii (from Miaka's 'before') was not around. His mother spoke of her with concern & longing often enough. "A pleasure to see you. Shall we head to the kitchen then?" Like he was going to let them make cookies in here. O_O oh no.

When Diina saw Miaka leaping for her the cookie fanatic lept in turn, and it was uncertain which of the two actually bowled the other over. Eruanna pranced in behind her with a grin. Eruanna had in fact lived up to her name, just not in the way her father had expected. She was very graceful, but not in the way of a trained fighter, or an elegant lady. She held the unconscious grace of a wild thing, and she wore the fact like a badge of pride.

"To the kitchen! Maybe grandma can trade cookie recipes with Ginny, she's mentioned it a few times." Eruanna grinned yet again as Diina clapped her paws together from the midst of the pile she seemed to have formed with Miaka. "Oh! I'd forgotten! Do you think she's home?"

Eru couldn't help a little smugness in her grin as they walked to the kitchen. If Ginny was home it would make it that much easier to get Hotohori out of the house for a while. Eru was pretty sure Ginny would realize exactly what the wild-child had planned as soon as she mentioned taking Hotohori out so Miaka and Diina could have a girl's afternoon together. If not... well, Eru was very persistent.

Hotohori made the smallest show of appreciation, noticing the wild grace of Adiina's granddaughter. The faintest upwards shift of a single brow-ridge -easily missed. His namesake would not have missed it, but his mother certainly did. Suzaku... I pray that Ginny is there... & that Chroma is not... Gods... the thought of the three of them in the kitchen together not only nearly made the male shiver for the fear of the thought alone, but it had Hotohori worried for Ginny's sanity if it should ever happen. If Miaka & Adiina's greeting was any indication. Mother was not entirely used to getting such greetings as giving them, but her son could see Miaka was overjoyed. "Don't know! If she's not with Harry she probably is!" Hotohori nodded slightly that his mother's logic was probably right (for a change) even as he silently disentangled them. "Let's find out!" Softly he padded like some great cat after the females, carefully glancing over the room before shutting the door behind them.

Either he was exceptionally lucky or Suzaku was smiling on his priestess' son. A red-headed, black robed kitsu female with pale pink skin was sitting on her haunches in a chair. Her fore legs lay upon the table, a thick book between her paws from which she appeared to be scanning the contents within rather than actually reading them. A flick of her orange banded ear indicated that she could hear

Eruanna had no god to pray to, just seemingly limitless good luck. And her luck was with her again today, it would seem, and she trotted into the kitchen with a grin and approached Ginny. Aldiina beat her to it, though, bounding over with a set of wildly wagging tails. "Ginny! I came over to bake cookies with Miaka, if you're not busy with the kitchen. We can go back to the Place, otherwise, but I was hoping you'd be here to join us. We can trade recipes!"

Her grandmother was an endless bundle of energy as always. It had passed down to most of the family, though it showed in different ways. Diina herself was the most silly and childish of the bunch, though, really; it was difficult for some to believe that she was a grandmother. It made Eru grin again.

The gray furred femme interjected herself into the conversation before she lost her chance. "Yeah, Ginny! If you're not busy, I bet you three would have loads of fun. Then it would be a girls' afternoon for three instead of two. I figured I'd drag Hotohori out somewhere while they were having fun. No fair leaving him at odd ends just 'cause he's not a girl, right?" Eru propped herself up on the chair beside Ginny and gave the red-head a grin and a wink.

Ginny turned to take in the small party. Her brown eyes sparkled with a mischief that could rival her twin brothers' as she read into what Eruanna was -not- saying. Smiling while holding back inner mirth the red-headed witch closed her book & with a wave of her wand sent it safely out of the kitchen. "No. No fair at all. Go. Have fun. Tell me about it when you get back." Hopping from the chair Ginny wasted no time pushing Eruanna & Hotohori back out the kitchen door on her way to grab her -spare- recipe box. Hotohori for his part looked like he had just been blindsided & caught completely off guard as his mother waved good-bye & called happily for them to have a good time and bring hungry tummies back. Belatedly the lone male started to protest but the witch cut him off. "I think it's a perfect time for some just mothers time."

The brilliance of her smile stunned Hotohori & left him blinking in its wake. No... not a mother... I've no place there... Stunned Hotohori let himself be herded from the room with a bit of a dazed look in his dark eyes. When he was outside the warrior sat upon his haunches, blinking. "What... just happened?"

Eruanna didn't take much herding to get outside (this was her idea after all) and gave Ginny a cheerful wave and farewell as she disappeared once more. She then pranced over and gave Hotohori a playful shove on the shoulder. "Ginny's gonna look after Miaka and grandma for a while, and they're gonna have a lot of fun, and we get to go find some entertainment for ourselves for a couple of hours." She pranced in a little circle around him. "C'mon, let's go find something to do. There's gotta be somewhere you'd like to go." She'd try a little gentle prodding first and see what happened.

Stunned, and looking more than a little shell-shocked, Hotohori let himself be shoved a bit & rocked lightly at the pressure. Blinking & dazed he got to his feet, absently padding towards the middle of the room where he paused as if uncertain what to do with himself. It was not so much that he had nothing to do when not looking after his mother. It was more he had never been so thoughally or quickly ... well whatever it was that they had done to him to get him out of the room like that. Snowed? What was that anyway.

Eruanna cocked her purple-freckled head to the side, white bangs curtaining across her vision for a moment as faded gray ears flicked forward at Hotohori's behavior. A moment of contemplation and then yellow-green eyes narrowed and a mischievous smile spread across her fanged maw. Shell-shocked, huh? Well, he needed to be snapped out of it.

She slipped into stalking posture and stepped on silent paws to come up behind the male and then... pounced. At his tails. No one was really sure why Eruanna had taken to pouncing on tails as a kit, and it was rather more uncomfortable now that she was grown. Especially considering she was a bit larger and more muscular than was usually found, particularly in a female.

"Wake up, 'Ori! Sitting here staring at the walls all day does not sound like fun. The weather's great, we should go hunting or swimming or something. C'mon!" She started pushing at him a bit with her front paws, trying to nudge him into some actual movement. "It's too nice of a day to waste inside."
PostPosted: Wed May 28, 2008 12:10 am

'yipe!' The unsuspecting (really, even -or especially- in this house a warrior should know better) male jumped as his tails were attacked. Or rather, tried to jump but quickly was restrained for the weight upon them.

'Ori? Who or what is 'Ori? Hotohori wondered to himself even as he twisted to look at the female in bemusement. Wait... "Hunting? Swimming?"

Blink. Tails once again free Hotohori padded with automatic steps to the front door and outside. Perplexity slowly gave way to pointed thoughtfulness and once more he looked at Eruanna, though now it was much different. Perhaps discerning. "Yes... it is a nice day. What exactly are you playing at, Eruanna?"

Eruanna tilted her head at "Ori's" question after following him outside, making a curious noise. A rather incongruously cute curious noise. Eru's large, muscular frame and wild personality didn't normally bring to mind images of adorable and cuddly, but every once in a while she did things to make people rethink that opinion.

Then she grinned her mischievous grin. "We just got outside, I'm not playing at anything yet, Ori." How long before he caught on to the fact that she'd made her own spin on shortening his name? Hehe. "What do you do for fun, anyway?"
PostPosted: Fri Jun 06, 2008 11:43 am

Hotohori seemed put out of his stride even as he was falling back into it at the sound she made. He blinked at her a moment, vaguely thinking that Eruanna could win a guy over with a noise like that.

The male's eyes narrowed slightly. There had been a 'yet' in that answer and he DID live with two sets of Weasley Twins. 'Yet' & mischievous grins were usually a combination to be avoided. Concentrating on that, he barely heard the 'Ori', mistaking it as an 'or' and presuming the wild female was just letting things trail off. Hotohori answered as he started walking into the woods. "Training usually. But I don't think I should wield a sword just now. So let's see about that swim you mentioned."

Surprisingly though, he was not walking towards Bass'ken Lake. Instead deep magenta paws were padding deeper into the woods. He seemed to know where he was going.

Eruanna's mischief was nothing compared to the Weasleys'. Her brand of mischief usually boiled down to unexpected pouncings or dunkings and some teasing. She really was a very touchy-feely and affectionate girl, she just couldn't seem to pass up the opportunity to pester someone while she was expressing that. Familiarity and personal space were also commonly disregarded. Eruanna was Eruanna... and always would be. Take her or leave her.

In keeping with this when Hotohori started into the woods she padded up rather closely beside him, but still letting him lead a bit. Basically her head was just behind his shoulder, and she was close enough to him that if she didn't have the uncanny grace of a jungle cat all the bushes and branches they were passing would have caused her bump into him rather than her merely avoiding them.

A mischievous or nonchalant and playful smile were almost always plastered on Eru's face, and it was the latter she turned on Hotohori's little fluffy brown hair-tail this time. "Where we going, Ori? I haven't been over here so much, I usually wander around Realm." Ok, the temptation was too much. She gave the hair-tail a playful (but gentle!) n** and a tug. Come on, who could pass that up?
PostPosted: Mon Jun 09, 2008 8:37 pm

The other's closeness did not seem to bother Hotohori much. at least if it did, the warrior showed no sign. At least until his ponytail was tugged. He made a startled sound and turned with a snap upon his 'attacker' with a look of surprise & bafflement in his eyes. "Hey! What was that for?"

Hotohori huffed slightly, looking like he was more than tempted to not answer Eruanna's question in light of new matters. "You said swimming. I don't feel much like fishing poles or crowds, so we're going to a smaller lake. It's spring fed." The male added on the last almost as an afterthought.

Taking a step away from the girl he continued on -at last bringing them to a crystal clear pond that would be the size of an Olympic sized pool if Nature made bodies of water in rectangles. As it was the lake was more ovoid, with a small jutting on the far bank. Seeing the beauty Hotohori took time to pause, drawing in its splendor & breathing of the air here deeply.

Eruanna jerked her head back with instinctual fluidity when "Ori" snapped at her for tugging on his ponytail. Woah. Dude needed to chill. the. heck. out. "I was playing, Ori..." She'd gotten him out of the house none too soon. Dayamn.

She was glad he wasn't being so uptight as to not answer her question because of a playful hair tug. That would have called for drastic measures. Measures he probably wouldn't appreciate for a while given how he was acting. But the small lake he mentioned sounded good; Eru could not be said to ever have minded a crowd, but she liked going places that everyone and their dog hadn't already seen. And swimming where people were fishing didn't sound particularly appealing. Namely the part with the fish hooks.

And... wow. It was pretty. In another unexpected turn of behavior she was actually quiet for a moment. Not just verbally, but physically as well. For a moment, at least, she was still and calm and closed her eyes to bask in the feeling of the place for a space of time.

Then she suddenly tore off like a shot and leapt out over the water before falling in with a big splash, her call of "cannon ball!" echoing very slightly off the trees in her wake.
