smile I'm sure we've all got skills for which we don't have corresponding certificates. He could be a virtuoso dentist for all we know, who's just never bothered to sit his dentistry exams (Although, if all matters tooth-related are his blindspot, it'd explain what the first Doctor was up to back in
The Gunfighters).
I suppose this sort of brings us to the old question about whether or not he's qualified as a medical doctor. He says he is back in
The Moonbase, but two regenerations later says he isn't in
The Seeds of Doom...
