Again, the filly was free from her parent's sights. It was far too easy to sneak away with her brother's hogging all the attention, but she didn't care. The filly's blue eyes gazed around in search of anything fun. A crooked smile sat on her maw as she looked. Dark clouds filled the sky... it had been raining earlier one could easily see. Asami's eyes fell upon a mud pile.
The filly tried to continue on, but she could hear the brown sticky stuff calling her name. Not many new her name just yet, after all, she was fairly young. Quietly, she trotted up to the pile of mud and smirked a little. After taking a few steps back, the filly ran towards the mud and slid into it, covering most of her tan colored fur in the brown liquidy mush.

The wind was suddenly getting chilly and shivers ran up Cain's spine. The clouds were coming together in an ominous, dark manner. It had rained for a few days so the ground was becoming a muddy soup in some places.
He noticed in the distance a young filly playing in one of the mud puddles. He trotted over to see what kinda fun you could have in a mud puddle. He chuckled to himself on the way there.

Asami's hooves kicked into the air and mud flew along with it. Most wouldn't expect her to be such a boy at heart, but she was. A slight bit of a smile slithered onto the filly's muzzle as she jumped around in the mud. Her brother would probably be making fun of her... or maybe joining her, she wasn't too sure with him.
The slightest bit of chuckling was heard and Asami's tan ears flicked towards the colt who was making his way towards her. Small white bows in her mane were now nothing but long ribbons tied in knots. They weren't nearly as pretty as her mother had made them look earlier that day, but the filly didn't care, she was having too much fun.

Mud was flying everywhere by the time Cain made his way over. A few specks landed on the end of his nose and he tried to nuzzle them off against his front leg but they were too high up for his reach.
"Excuse me but what are you doing?" He cocked his head to the side in a questioning manner. "Isnt that...dirty?"

What was she doing? She thought for a second. Maybe she should just keep her mouth shut this time around... act like a mute? Her eyes watched the other for a second. No, he would simply think she was ignoring him. "What kind of question is that?!" She blurted out. Her maw snapped shut and she quickly looked around.
Her words were harmless, but most found them quite rude. She didn't mean to insult others, but the words simply blurted out of her. "No... its not dirty at all. Its as clean as can be, see?" Asami asked, rubbing a bit of the mud on her onto him.

"Hmm well that doesnt make sense. If mud is made outta dirt, and dirt is dirty, than how can mud be clean?" He tilted his head again at her. She was a strange one he thought, probably around the same age as him. She seemed playful and nice but he wasnt too sure yet.
The rain clouds were beginning to look like they were wisping at the bottom and Cain knew that rain was soon to come.

"I was just being sarcastic!" She said with a little bit of a look towards him. It wasn't a mean look, but it wasn't the nicest ones she could give. The tomboyish filly kicked some dirt at the colt playfully. Males were far more easy to get along with, but weren't as easy to get along with as her brothers.
Asami's blue eyes slowly lifted towards the sky. Ah, more mud would be joining them soon.

"Oh okay..." He replied sheepishly. He was never very aware when other horses were being sarcastic. "Well it sure seems like your having a lot of fun..." He hesitantly dipped a hoof in the mud. It felt squishy and strangely he enjoyed it. He put all four hoofs in and began to prance around sloshing mud everywhere.

The filly's mane and tail quickly knotted and her bows were ready to fall out, but surprisingly they stayed right where her mother placed them. Her sky blue eyes watched the other as he sloshed around. "Have you never played in mud before?" She asked with a little confused look. How could someone never play in mud, especially a boy! After a bit of watching him, she stomped her hoof and sent mud flying through the air. Most other girls would hate the mud, but Asami loved it.

"Well I am pretty young you see...I was only born a few weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to experience everything. Plus, I am a pretty shy colt, its my brother whose into everything." He slightly blushed and looked down. "But I can be adventurous sometimes." He looked back up and smiled a warm smile. His smile and eyes were much like his father's, welcoming and warm.
"How about you? When were you born?"

The filly thought for a second. "You don't seem too shy to me." She said, tilting her head at him for a minute. Asami thought for a second. Why were males so much easier to get along with? She blamed it on her brothers. Her orange tail flicked behind her and she stomped her hoof again, hoping she would splash mud on the other foal.
"Um... I think I'm only a few weeks too."

In a sudden crack of thunder the rain came down in buckets. Cain shook his mane while mud and water went flying.
The thunder cracked again and Cain jumped. "What is that!? It sounds like a crashing tree but in the sky!" He looked to Asami for an answer. "Have you ever seen or heard something like that before?" Another crack of lightening creased across the sky and then the sound of thunder came around.

The mane quickly drenched the filly. Her mane was stuck to the sides her neck and the knots in her mane, which were once a pure white, were now brown.
The crack made Asami's muzzle rise towards the sky. "Um..." She tried to sound as smart as she could. Hadn't her family warned her about this so if she did hear it she would be afraid? "Lightning!" The filly said, mixing up thunder and lightning. She paused for a second. "My mother told me once I think." After a few more stomps in the mud, the lightning made her eyes light up a little. Her parents did a bad job at explaining what it looked like. It was far more interesting.

"Lightening eh? Sure is strange..." He pondered for a moment than looked over to her. "You look drenched, its probably best if we find some shelter." He turned towards a fallen, huge tree. It was propped a few feet above ground because it landed on another stump. Some branches were also laid across it. It seemed to be a perfect shelter.
"Over there seems good. C'mon!"

Asami's head nodded when the colt spoke. It was strange, but it was interesting to her. She was enjoying watching it. Her ears flicked a little and she felt her mane sticking to neck. Not the most comfortable of feelings. The filly flicked her head, trying to rid her neck of the strange feeling of her wet mane.
When he spotted out the place, she began to run over towards it, determined to be first to reach there. "I'll beat you!"
