The land laid out with emerald grasses and crystal blue water had been a splendid sight as the gallant prince of the sands had made his appearance. Usually a visual of drifting sands was all that ever captivated the alicorn's attention day in and day out. Hot sultry days followed by freezing frigid nights was his mainstay as his hooves sunk deeply within the terrain. But here, this place was something magical to someone that never lied eyes upon such richness of color that grew so richly as afar as the eye could see. It truly was an oasis set within a glorious magical dreamland.
The Egyptian Prince moved smoothly as his hooves sunk lightly upon the loose dirt he walked within. His decorations chimed like bells as they moved with the subtle breeze passing by. His orbs lidded in contentment feeling that air as it blew by him, thankful for such a lovely climate and day filled with relaxing thoughts. Paradise. Yes this was exactly that he pondered deeply within his ever contemplating mind. Though the sands had been his home, he desired this fantasy for the time being.
Noticing a stream winding its way like a snake to the eastern side, he opted to quench his throat before furthering his exploration of this wondrous place. Dipping his head downward into the cool refreshment, he took into himself the mystery that is life. Cool, relaxing, and throughly enjoyable, Atemu closed his orbs from the sunlight to enjoy himself.

The indignity of it all! Khepri fumed silently as she mused over the thought of how her own mother--her own mother!--had reprimanded her about her attitude--her attitude! Moonsilver eyes flashed as she scowled, acting so unlike what one would think "royalty" would act like, and much more like a high-and-might spoiled filly. After a few more minutes, her scowl disappeared with a sigh. She had finally met with her father--Taiyaung, who tempered Shimshek's arrogance incredibly well, it stunned even Khepri every time she thought about it! Even when she saw the sight of her cold, primly mother so affectionate with the unicorn that had given her her own beautiful looks, it was still shocking to her to find Shimshek so loving. It had then struck at Khepri how much Shimshek had really cared about her and her brothers--despite the cold mask, Shimshek adored each of them to death, loved them truly despite hiding it.
After all, did she not sometimes scold Xiaodan for thinking himself to be a god, and sometimes Liang for acting like he was better than all others, and sometimes herself, as well? It was then she realized she had stepped into a meadow fit for a king--especially a prince, of whom she was searching aimlessly for. The gentle breeze almost soundlessly giggled cheerfully as it danced around her, about her, with her, as if it wanted to steal away her brooding negativity, wanting her to laugh and sing. Khepri, being dignified (undignified?), never usually danced around carefree or sang or what have you when it came to what most mares did (not that she had met any aside from Mocha, whom even her own mother got extremely exasperated with, but that had been a brief meeting... Mocha hadn't been seen for several months since her last incredibly brief visit). As it so happened, though, she actually hadn't been shocked as much as she was now as she had stepped out into this meadow fit for royalty--in fact, that had been the last thing on her mind...
That is, of course, until she saw one of the handsomest stallions she had seen yet since her brothers. Had her prince come at last? For, as she observed carefully from a distance, the stallion wore garbs that screamed "prince"... he walked with a certain style and grace that she just knew only royal ones did; upon his brow sat a golden horn, adorned by a crown unlike any she had ever seen... his horn was so golden he could only be a prince, like her brothers! She was so shocked her jaw had actually dropped for a minute, purely out of surprise. Regaining composure quickly, she continued to stare at this anonymity as she contemplated on how to greet him... probably the stallion was already very used to being addressed like he was god of the world (Xiaodan expressed pure joy if he was worshipped) so she perhaps should treat him the same as her brother? Ah... the choices...

The stallion drank heavily entranced the water was so cool as stories in his mind whispered from ancient tales. It was simply invigorating to drink till your heart was fulfilled and content from the sheer pleasure it brought someone. Reopening his deep set eyes he raised his head letting the droplets fall from his velvety muzzle like crystalline drops shaped of diamonds. Surely this oasis that seemed to go on forever was a sanctuary, a dream he was stepping within. The stallion was convinced it was a sweet magical spell from whence he was born back in the days of hot sand and cold iced nights.
But, the more his senses brought him back to reality, the alicorn prince was understanding that this place, this gorgeous paradise was indeed real and thriving as it grew around him. The emerald blades streaking upward around his feet, hardened turf that held his feet, and the clear water that reflected the overstretched ocean in the sky as the clouds shifted by. This was all real- all of it which he finally understood.
His eyes flickered with drinking knowledge of the shapes and forms of everything till they lied upon a mare that was watching his actions with interest. She was horned as he was with a regal stance about her as her form stood there with an interesting appeal. He wondered about her as she gazed over letting his own thoughts speak for him. She most likely was a native to this land so perhaps she'd know more about this area then he would of course. Standing tall now as his wings settled with a furl upon his back he returned her interest of gazing back before stepping forward.
As he began his decent toward the beautiful horned mare he pondered how he would go about asking her things. Atemu never was one to openly create a conversation, but standing around here all day was that productive either. Best to just announce your presence and see what welcome you get in return. When he had neared her of nearly 10 feet he spoke, "Greetings. I am a traveler from a far land. Tell me do you know much about this land?" It sounded a bit lame, almost common yet he felt it acceptable to start with. Now he'd see what and how she'd reply in return.
Her gaze did speak one thing to him though- apparently she'd never saw a regal figure before. This would be interesting he concluded as he watched the mare waiting for his answer.

She shook her head to clear her stare, and tilted her head in what she hoped would seem a regal stance. "Salutations, stranger," she greeted in turn. "I know plenty of it," she explained vaguely. Well, she knew well enough, just not this particular area. Come to think of it, why did this handsome stallion want to know about the land? Oh, wait; didn't he just say he was a traveler? That meant he was really new to this land! She began to approach him now, seeing as he had decided to greet her and take notice. Well, of course he would, she thought smugly, I'm so beautiful it'd be hard for any stallion to ignore my presence! She continued to watch him, trying to ascertain whether he was truly friendly or was like many of the other stallions who found her to be overwhelming.
From what she could tell, he was observing her very carefully, and it only made her want to make him fall for her. She decidedly to play the usual game... of course, it never worked on Khirsah, but she had grown up with him and he with her, so it was obvious the "game" wouldn't work on him. Smiling daintily as she finally came to a rest in front of him, she introduced herself. "Well, stranger, my name is Khepri. What's yours?" Obviously it would do her well to treat him equally, she pondered. His eyes spoke of his kindness but with silent pride. It reminded her of how her father, Taiyaung, was, and it made her want to take it easy. She shouldn't act like she was queen of the world (even though she just knew she was) but that was far from the point right now.
"It's a beautiful day today," she commented randomly. "The trees and the flowers, the butterflies, a cloudless, blue sky... it's one of those perfect days of our world," she finished, speaking with pride. "Of course, there's time where I have to tell myself that when it rains, the water coming from those ugly gray clouds provides food for this beauty around us." Her sparkling moonsilver eyes twinkled knowingly at his countenance, watching as he absorbed the nature around them with an eagerness only newborn foals had. Often times she took for granted the beauty of Mother Nature around her, but there were times where she did stop and take a look; after all, Mother Nature provided her privacy when she really wanted it. She kept her attention on the stallion, a handsome stranger...

At least she wasn't patronizing over him, in respect he really couldn't handle such females that would roll on the ground in his presence. While yes he was honored by such displays of admiration it was a bit degrading to witness such acts of what he considered immaturity. A sure reaction of his attention frivolously catering off elsewhere to less distractions that deemed worthy to him. But this female was different, for now at least.
"Atem.." he began wondering if his full birthright would be welcomed in such a strange land filled with foliage and sweeping rivers as crystal as the blue that represented water in his land. Then he decided with pure respect she'd be entitled to know his real self even if he wasn't a prince in this land. "Pharaoh Atemu from the land of the sands Lady Khepri." Always with an honored meeting did he place formalities first and foremost.
"This land is quite mesmerizing seeing the green and blue that are lush and full of life. As the Nile is from the sands and the great towering pyramids, so is this world in its own right considered beautiful in my eyes. You are fortunate to experience such a canvas as this as I am to remember the rolling sands that last an Eternity. While the Nile has always been the giver to my people, I feel someday with change she will wither and become barren like the grains of desolation around her." Nodding his head he held his respect for such a beautiful mare that was so openly eager to address him in return and keep his company.
Breathing with a subtle flick of his ears he swayed his majestic tail, "Come tell me more about this land we stand upon. I hear of great bodies of water, and giants that stand taller then the dwellings of the great princes resting in Eternity waiting to reign in their world once more." he openly queried her seeing how much he could learn perhaps and hoped she didn't think him a peasant or naive for not knowing the terrain around him. "Or rather if you would take time to accompany me to these places I would be in your debt beautiful one. I leave the decision to you of course." He smiled wisely in a sage sort of way taking in her colors as if the sands were formed into a pleasing form of a mare. The Prince though deep and sometimes conceited was musing over the fact his imagination was litereally running away with him. Perhaps it was the emerald and blues that heightened his senses- Whatever the case he was thoroughly enjoying himself being quite whimsical in childlike sense.
