Welcome to the Norwegian General Discussion! This is where we discuss everything related to the Norwegian language, including, but not limited to:
-asking specific questions about Norwegian vocabulary and grammar (people who can speak Norwegian fluently can help answer others' questions) -recommendations for Norwegian dictionaries, websites, etc -and everything else about the beautiful langauge of Norway! 3nodding
Please note that although speaking in Norwegian is allowed here, it is not mandatory.
Let's start off with a few facts about the Norwegian language:
Spoken in: Norway
Total number of speakers: 5 million
Language Family: Germanic languages (along with German, Swedish, English, and others)
Regulated by: Norwegian Language Council

Well, Well.. First Norwegian am I? Seems so.. Heh. Hi and all that. I may have some websites to recommend.. though not now. A little busy.

I only know the words 'norsk', 'tusk' and 'svansk'... Oh and 'jag likke dag' or so? Had some Norwegian exchange student friends. I was an exchange student in Minnesota last year and met them there.

Sophonax Also, Proudly_Jewish, there are 4,2 million persons who's actually able to speak Norwegian, in Norway. The rest is just immigrants from other places like South Africa. There also Norwegian people in other parts of the world though, eg Canada. Plus people to learn to speak it... so I think if you add it all together it's 4.5 domokun
