Name: Sabina Guardian: Matthew Dioli Spirit: One half of a particularly famous trapeze act, she was an illegal Soviet refugee and formerly a researcher (under government threat) at Laboratory 12. Her previous occupation obliged her to concoct lethal substances lest she and her family be used as the human lab rats upon which these toxins were tested. It was her older twin sister, and later acrobatic partner, who helped her flee the country. Many years into taking refuge as a poorly paid trapeze artist in France, her sister was captured and charged with treason, on count of mistaken identity. Upon learning that her employer had allowed the wrong twin to be taken so as to keep the "better" performer, she considered poisoning the man as per her past employment but instead voluntarily plummeted to her death during a high profile performance, forever putting an end to his business as well her misery. Vessel: Sugar glider
Season: Spring Powers: Unknown

A disarray of documents: newspaper clippings, government files, encyclopedia articles, candid snapshots, and others among them. The pile, in typical chaotic order fashion, exposes the top right corner of every item. These corners contain labels in thick, permanent marker and read as follows:
THE VESSEL THE SPIRIT THE HICCUP THE GUARDIAN THE OTHERS THE RELATIONS THE VISUALS THE TREASURES THE INDEX THE NOTES THE CREDITS
The indescript keeper of the pile has left no other trace of perceivable maintainence.

The sugar glider has very thick soft grey mink-like fur with a black stripe that runs the full length of the body in line with the spine. This black stripe extends up and over the top of the head. The last couple of inches of the tail are also black. The glider also has dramatic black markings on the face, legs and back. The sugar glider's head and body measures five to six inches with a bushy tail of equal length. The adult glider weighs 4-6 ounces, with the male being the larger. All marsupials have several features in common. Among these are the structure of their reproductive organs, dentition and a short gestation period followed by a long developmental period for their young. Like most marsupials, the female has a pouch in which the baby glider is carried.
In the wilds of their native habitat, the sugar gliders are tree dwelling creatures, often living in groups of 15 to 30. They are active by night when they hunt for insects and small vertebrates and feed on the sweet sap of certain species of eucalyptus, acacia and gum trees. Sugar gliders are so named for their preference for sweet foods and their ability to glide through the air like a flying squirrel. They travel through the midnight tree tops by launching themselves into the air and transforming into a living kite by spreading out their sails of skin. They can make glides up to fifty meters and use their long tails as rudders to control the direction of flight. They have even been known to snatch an insect out of the air in mid flight. This gliding is made possible by a thin membrane of skin called a patagium that extends between their front and back legs.
Gliders have odd qualities such as opposable fingers and toes. Their front feet have five fingers with sharp scimitar shaped claws. The hind feet each has a large opposable big toe. The next two toes are fused together (syndactylous) to make one toe with two nails. This toe is used as a grooming comb. The glider will scratch himself with this comb and then bring the foot around to his mouth, clean it, and repeat the process over and over. This syndactylous toe is typical of many marsupials. The ears are large, thin and hairless and are constantly in motion, moving independently of one another to pick up the smallest sounds. The eyes too, are very large and dark and are oriented towards the sides of the head to allow for a wider field of vision.
Sugar gliders are capable of a wide repertoire of calls that vary from bird-like chirps to dog-like barking. By far their most extraordinary vocalization is the one they make when disturbed in their nest. This is what we call crabbing. It defies description but sounds somewhat like those rattles they hand out at new year parties. Calling to one another is just one means by which they communicate.
The sugar glider makes a fascinating and unique pet which becomes extremely friendly when provided daily interaction with humans. In order to become the friendliest possible pets, glider babies should be handled daily as soon as they have emerged from the pouch and their eyes are open. Their most endearing quality is the ease with which they bond to their human friends, especially when obtained at a young age. Male sugar gliders reach maturity around nine to ten months; females shortly thereafter. If properly cared for, they will soon crave your attention. Being nocturnal, they are content to "snuggle" during the day in their cage or in your hand or pocket. During the evening, they become more active and will glide into your hand. Hand-tamed, well adjusted gliders are easy to handle and will not run away, even during their active periods. While all animals will bite when frightened or startled, even wild caught sugar gliders are unable to bite hard, and seldom draw blood (unlike hamsters or gerbils).
Sugar gliders are extremely social animals. In the wild, they live in large family groups, called colonies. Because of their social nature, pet gliders should always be kept in pairs or small groups. It is unnatural for a glider to ever be alone, and unfair to force solitude upon your pet. When housed alone, gliders are likely to become depressed, withdrawn, even defensive, and may refuse to eat and could eventually die from loneliness.
Tame gliders can be let out to play in the evenings but they must be supervised; you will be surprised at how fast they can "jump" away from you! Tame gliders like to climb on curtains, play in the house plants, and just plain jump from place to place. Give them an opportunity and they will find a way to play in your house. Gliders can become very bonded to their owners and can often be trusted to ride on a shoulder or in a jacket pocket.

BARCELONA - An uncharacteristically rainy summer day joins Mr. ████████ in the streets of Spain, where he finds himself out of his homeland, out of business, and out of luck.
It is only a day following the incident which occured here in ██████ Park, but everywhere there is talk buzzing with the details of what has happened. Many families are upset with the turn of events, economists worry what this will do for the flourish in tourism, and meanwhile enthusiasts everywhere mourn for the loss of not one but two pioneers in the art of the trapeze.
Le Cirque ██ ██████████ of Paris, France recently decided to celebrate its critical acclaim by moving its show and touring worldwide. Yesterday was to be the first of only ten performances to take place, but due to the death of one of the show's most prominent performers during her act, the tour stopped there. While most everyone is aware of the aftermath of this tragedy, this reporter wants to know what caused it.
The performer in question, Larisa Eltsina, stage name Lala, and her younger twin sister Zinaida, stage name Lola, were the star act in Le Cirque's lineup until disbanded just two weeks prior to the tour. Zinaida, who was the highlight of their duo act, was reportedly seized by the Soviet government under charges this reporter is as of yet unaware of.
With the loss of her sister, it is a wonder that Larisa could carry on with the career she had shared with her lookalike for nearly seven years. The two created a name themselves later in this career's lifetime; when they arrived selling themselves solely on the twin gimmick, 'Le Cirque' was a shabby establishment and accepted the amateurs right away. Experience and natural ability eventually escalated the twins' popularity, along with Le Cirque's, and the two became a world reknowned act.
Mr. ████████████ ████████ , owner and manager of Le Cirque, chose not to disclose that the group had lost the younger Eltsina sister until the day of their Spain kick-off. Other performers consider this to have been a business move on his part, believing sales would not be what they were without the possibility of the twins' avant garde act involving perilous triple somersaults and racy ribbles wherein the sisters kiss after one catches the other in midair. Many decidedly say this was a wise move on his part.
Beyond the secrecy of Zinaida's disappearence, Larisa who normally had more modest choreography came to Barcelona with an impressive repertoire that none might have expected of her. She still carried out the colorful illusions which the girls had before used to mesmorize their crowd, but she was prepared with elite individual tricks that had never been witnessed until yesterday. Her sudden boost in the quality of performance is questionable, but not so much as her means of death.
The extravagent show, hosting the woman to heights of over 60 feet in the air, was made more marvelous still by the lack of safety net. Dangerous as this may seem, it appears it was by no accident that the trapeze artist fell six stories to her doom. She managed through an entire ten-minute performance without mistake but at the end went into a spontaneous reverse suicide, most literally. What should bring about such a stunt is beyond any of her coworkers who report she seemed quite fine despite being parted with her sister.
Her very public death having ruined ████████ and Le Cirque, it brings many to wonder the acrobat's intentions. The mysterious disappearence of her sister is being looked into by those who suspect foul play, and one other clue has surfaced, but only one. Found clasped in the dead performer's hand was a letter marked to her employer. Suspected to be a suicide note, authorities opened it to reveal only two words in her native Russian, translating simply to, "I quit."
