((I don't have a pic of my stallion yet, but he was #3 in the last flatsale, and his name is pronounced Chee-Gee if anyone is curious.))

Qi Ji stepped lightly through the dense trees, being careful not to press his hooves too deep into the ground and damage the undergrowth. It was late afternoon on the island he found himself on, and he blended in rather well with his background. This island had looked intriguing from the mainland, and Qi Ji had decided to come explore. Snuffling at the ground, he recognized a plant he knew, mint. Grasping a leaf delicately from the plant with his mouth, he chewed, delighted to have found such a prize.

While he chewed, Qi Ji contemplated whether there were others like him on this island. It looked pretty deserted, besides the song birds whistling above him and the occasional hare that ran by. Not that Qi Ji wasn't happy to just sit and enjoy nature, but it would be nice to have someone to talk to rather than himself and the trees.

The more and more Tong Hua travelled, the more he was fascinated by the similarities and differences of the places he saw. He had often found it interesting to watch the landscape change as he roamed over the land. This was the first time he had come to the islands however. He had known they were here of course, yet his travels had always seemed to be more on the mainland, or the sounthernly seas. But finally, he had decided to come here. After all, he had long expressed a desire to go over the ocean, and though he had not done so, this was the farthest east he had been.

A tingly, refreshing scent reached his nostrils, faint, but clear. He stopped a moment, trying to identify the familiar aroma. Mint. Yes, that was it. And something else. Or rather, someone else he should say. Curious, Tong Hua trotted in the direction of the minty smelling qilin. Dipping his head to get under a low hanging branch, his eyes fell upon the source of the smell. A green qilin, remarkably like the leaves of the forest stood chewing a mint leaf contentedly. Briefly, he wondered if this qilin lived here, or whether the stranger was merely a traveller like himself. But, no time like the present to find out, and Tong Hua always had possessed an unsatable curiosty.

"Hello there," he called out as he steeped more clearly into view, angling himself to better see the other stallion. "Are you from around here?"

Qi Ji stood blinking at the other qilin for a few long seconds, jaw gaping. He realized that it must be pretty disgusting as he had just been chewing moments ago, so he took a deep breath and swallowed.

"Hello," Qi Ji said, feeling slightly dumbfounded. Another qilin! Um..introduce himself, yes, that would be good. "Actually, I'm just visiting. I don't really have a particular home, I've been roaming around for quite a while. Never found anyone of my kind until now.

"I'm Qi Ji. It's nice to meet you." The forest colored stallion stepped away from the mint plant he'd been chewing on, and took a step towards the other stallion. He bowed his head about halfway to the ground, keeping his eyes on the other stallion. Not that he wasn't incredibly excited to meet another of his own, but the other qilin had yet to prove he wasn't dangerous.

He watched with a mix of confusion and amusement as the qilin before him stopped chewing and stood with his mouth open for a few moments. The poor fellow looked more than a little shocked, though Tong Hua didn't know why. But as the green stallion introduced himself, it made it a little clearer. So the other was somewhat like himself than, a wanderer. It pleased him to know that he was not the only one with the desire for adventure. But, the fact that Qi Ji had not met any other qilin before helped explain his expression.

"What a coincidence then, I am also a visitor here. I tend to roam freely as well, I'm not one for staying in one place to long. Too much to see, you know? I'm Tong Hua, it's nice to meet you as well." He returned the bow, dipping his head gracefully and then raising it again, a little puzzled at Qi Ji's actions. But, perhaps since the green qilin had never met another of his kind, it was natural that he would be a little uncertain. In response, Tong Hua just smiled, hoping to show the other that he meant no harm.

Qi Ji's nervousness was calmed by the friendly nature of the other qilin, and there was a visible change in his body posture as his muscles relaxed, and he smiled as well. Perhaps they could keep each other company in their wanderings. But it was an option far in the future, as Qi Ji would have to get to know this other stallion more before he would trust Tong Hua enough to sleep around him.

"So have you ever been out here before? I haven't, but the variety of foliage out here is incredible, much more lush than the mainlands." Obviously Qi Ji had a strong connection to nature, because it was always changing and growing. A constant source of wonder, like his fortune. If nature wasn't full of wonder, Qi Ji didn't know what was. But maybe his fellow qilin could show themselves to be that wonderful too.

"No, I've never been to this area before either. I've glimpsed it from the mainland several times, and have always wanted to come before, but never really got around to it. I've been around the mainland and the areas near it though, and so I decided it was time to see what these islands are like. Quite nice, I must say. Very green, it suites you, I think," he said with a small smile, making reference to the striking green colour Qi Ji possessed.

Indeed, the foliage out here was quite beautiful, and Tong Hua found the variety possessed in such a place amazing. Compared to the mainland, these islands were tiny, and yet they had just as much variations and wonders as the mainlands. Never had he seen mountains running to forests and straight to the sea as these ones did. He found it, in a nutshell, quite fascinating. The opportunity for exploration here was great, and Tong Hua reveled in it.
