I'm mainly pissed off at it because every single NSBM band seems to be from Poland, Russia or Ukraine. WTF scream ! Hitler was not sympathetic to Slavs! The Aryans would have killed them off anyways if they would have won the war.

I don't really know too much about it, I generally don't pay too much attention to lyrics anyway though.

Dammit, I wish Mega would have been here right now. He'd have volumes to say on this topic.
But I, of course, do not even remotely approve of the ideology behind NSBM, being of Slavic/Jewish heritage myself...

Dragon Bleed Ok, so far I have Nazi and Black Metal, what does the 'S' stand for? National Socialist Black Metal. National Socialism is basically Nazism. Nationalso zialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei is the official name of the Third Reich Nazi party. That is where Nazi comes from.

All I know is that a lot of it, from what I've heard, is pretty lackluster and boring and doesn't do much in the aspect of moving outside of the mold, so I tend to be very reluctant when I hear about an NSBM band. I also think it's kinda ironic for the Slavic nations to be the host to many of these bands, it's kinda like a Christian black metal band, the connotations and ideals that go with the term are kinda self-defeating for those bands.

But then it all slides back to the lyrics=/= genres debate.
Fun Fact: My mom and I have debated about Christian Black Metal.

My Hollow But then it all slides back to the lyrics=/= genres debate. Fun Fact: My mom and I have debated about Christian Black Metal. I have a really religious Catholic friend who thinks that Christian Black Metal is stupid. He says that they would have first needed to listen to black metal bands to be black metal, which would mean they would be listening to devil music. In his book, that's bad.

You should ask Warrior his opinion on that.
Well, I go back and forth between my ideas on it, personally. Me being a religious person myself, I understand that Black was founded on specific values, however hateful and whatnot. I can understand why a lot of people don't want Christians in it. But the ONLY place I have trouble saying "No I agree, Christians shouldn't be in BM" is because the lyrics don't equal genres. And thus, it becomes this big arguement, "well this group can't make this kind of music because they suck."
But then what about those bands whose lyrics don't revolve around religious themes? Then what does it matter what your religious or lack there of, beliefs are? You're telling me I, My Hollow, can't make a band that sounds like Woods of Ypres or something like that? What if I enjoy those black metal vocals and the sound that accompanies it?
That's where I tend to disagree.

Like NSBM tells me that they are singing about National Socialism. Same with Christian Black Metal. This can be applied to other genres but the others aren't clear cut. Oh, and that said religious friend listens to U2 a lot. He hasn't even heard metal.
