By this time, it had all become routine. Bag packed, weapons ready, goodbyes said, Celebor waited at the door of the portal for Donovan and whoever else was going to be coming with on this trip.
As with his first trip, he had returned from his second exhausted but cheerful - but not quite as badly as the first. Now, after a month of rest, he was ready to go again and find more children who had been taken from their homes.

Kara padded down the hallway along side Miyu who was just as excited and eager to go back. Which amused her, she had actually worried for a while that Yue might not like all of these trips, but Yue had expressed nothing but relief. Saying that Miyu needed to spend time away from her... unique twin.
Perverted was more like it, but Kara understood why Yue felt that way, she was the daughter of men, he felt she needed to spend time with more women.
Miyu was blissfully unaware of the problems her father had, instead she was looking forward for a visit, and learning new things. Her ice magic and improved a great deal, and she was pretty sure she could create snow if she really tried. Now if only she could figure out a way to create ice cream (blame Yuki for that one).
Feng and Ryu were right behind the two, murmuring about how old the children might be this time. They were eager, as usual.

Lin for once was not the first to arrive, her nose was buried in a book, the title on it was Rediscoverying History, and if it had not been for Donovan steering her shoulder she might have rammed into a wall. She had been liked this after a talk wtih her mother, and it had gotten to the point that Kara and Donovan had wondered if maybe they should have just given in to the extra lessons.
Though Donovan was sure that being in the Four Lands would at least provide a good distraction for Lin away from the books. It was a bit... distrubing to see someone her age (relatively speaking) read the sort of books she was reading.
Donovan sighed before meeting up with the others, "Everyone ready to go in?"

"Ready when you are," Celebor nodded in agreement, looking at Lin with one eyebrow raised.
He sighed.
"Lin, you're going to walk into a tree if you keep that up," he told her pointedly.

Kara giggled as she opened the door to let everyone in, Feng and Ryu heading in first so that Miyu would not be alone since she went in.
Kara herself would be the last person to enter the portal as she was the one to close it.

Lin looked up from the book, blinking for a moment since she had probably been staring at the pages too long. There was an innocent quality to the way she looked at him.
"But Kali does it."
"Kali is a unique case," Donovan replied as he ushered Lin into the portal, "Put it away, before you do ram into something."

Celebor had no idea what had possessed Lin to suddenly start impersonating Kali so dangerously, and he shot Kara a questioning glance before he followed Lin and Donovan into the portal and out into the Borderlands.

It was a beautiful spring day in the Borderlands. The leaves on the trees were a vibrant green, flowers dotted the mountainsides and all the ground in sight, the sun was shining brightly, making it comfortably warm but not at all hot, and there was a gentle breeze that barely moved the tips of the long grasses. Only a few wisps of clouds dotted the sky, but they were few and far between, completely unnoticeable unless one was looking for them.
The breeze carried with it the sounds of nature: birds singing and chirping, animals rustling through the grass - and every few seconds a laugh that came neither from the direction of the valley nor from the direction of the ranch: but from just ahead of where the portal opened.

Kara tried not to sigh at that, for she knew exactly why Lin was doing something like that. Still, there wasn't much she could do about it, except hope that Lin would become distracted enough to stop doing that. She entered the portal last, closing it behind her.
The breeze felt wonderful, and for once the seasons were aliged, well... almost except they were in a rainy season back home.
Miyu looked around, it felt like the Seconds World at this moment, probably because everything was so nice, but where was the laugh she was hearing coming from? She looked around, gave a small mi and began to actually look around, but not far enough where she would lose sight of anyone. She didn't want to go far at all.

Lin put away the book into her bag as she pouted up at her father. Honestly how was she going to get her magic lessons if everyone thought she was nuts for even trying. It was just history, it wasn't like she was going to fast track math or anything like that.

Celebor looked around curiously, trying to find the source of the laughter, but he dragged himself back to the task at hand and asked Donovan, "Which way? Valley to ask Ulani which way we have to go, ranch to get Celeborn, or ..."
He paused, looking off into the trees ahead of them once more.
"Or see who that is?"

The laughter rose and fell, breaking occasionally as if interrupted by conversation - but from its volume it was clear that whoever it was who was laughing (two people by the sounds of it, one male one female) was just ahead of them, and not at all far off.

Miyu watched them, as if she couldn't decide whether she should investigate or bolt back to the others. On one sense, she was kind of curious, but her shyness made her want to bolt back to her grandmother. In the end she chose the latter, eeping and hiding behind Kara's skirts.

Lin however had no problems, she figured since it was a man and a woman enjoying themselves, that they must be quite safe. Besides no one could make them out quite yet, so that is what she should do. So it was her who ran ahead to see who the two people were.
"Lin!" Donovan yelled out, but she was becoming very quick.

Celebor held back a chuckle. Well, that answered that question.
"Coming?" he grinned at Feng and Ryu, taking off after Lin.
