Safi was proud of himself...sorta. He'd managed to catch himself a rabbit (no begging for food tonight!), but the kill...hadn't been very clean. He felt kind of sad, really. It'd been such a pretty bunny, but he was hungry. And creatures like him ate creatures like rabbits, right? He shook his head and proceeded to eat, silently thanking the rabbit for the meal it was giving him.
After eating, he decided to start looking for a new place to sleep. After all, didn't wanna get munched on himself! And thus he trotted off through the grass after burying the remains of the rabbit, in search of a good hidey hole.

Aminali had been wandering around aimlessly. She watched the sun slowly descend as she walked through the tall grasses. She had already eaten earlier today and was content. The female was growing tired but she didn't want to stop yet and she continued to walk through the tall grass.
She heard something moving close by and she began to walk towards the noise. Aminali was wary and cautious since there was danger everywhere. And then she saw the small yellow wild dog. Speaking softly, Aminali wondered what a small wild dog was doing out here alone, "Hello there?" She hoped that she wouldn't scare him away or anything. She loved being around others and seeing this young one made her happy. She had a soft spot in her heart for younguns.

The yellow juvenile had ended up getting sidetracked from his quest for a hidey hole by a bug. A very shiny bug...but a bug nonetheless. And when it skittered under a rock, he continued on, forgetting what he'd been doing, really. And then he heard someone call out to him.
Safi blinked and spotted the other wild dog. He grinned happily. After all, wild dogs didn't munch other wild dogs! "Hullo! You're a grown-up right? 'Cause you kinda look like my Mama...'cept she's different colored and marked an-" He stopped and his grin turned sheepish. "Uh...sorry. I was ramblin', wasn't I?"

Tilting her head, Aminali watched him as the juvenile wild dog went after the shiny bug. Smiling softly, Aminali thought children were so adorable. So innocent and free from the problems of the world... She sighed happily and then smiled at him once more when he began to talk to her. "Yes, the last time I checked, I believe I am." The female grinned happily as she replied to him. "Really now? I'm sure that your mother was very pretty." She laughed as he mentioned rambling, "Oh that's fine, ramble all you want. What are you doing out here alone little one?" She knew that when she was his age, she wasn't out on her own. Maybe times were changing...

Safi blinked. An adult that let him ramble? Today really was a good day! His grin brightened again and his tail wagged happily. "Mama is pretty! But...I haven't seen her in a while." His ears drooped. "'s why I'm alone...I got lost and couldn't find them again...couldn't hear their howls..." He brightened again. "But I know I'll see them again! And when I do..." He sat, looking rather proud of himself. "I'll be a great hunter they can be proud of!"

Smiling at him, Aminali was happy to meet this little one. It reminded her of how much she loved little children and how she wanted to have her own family someday. But then she frowned at Safi's comment, "Why haven't you seen your mother in awhile?" She couldn't imagine being separated from her mother at such a young age. Aminali did have a strange past but things didn't start happening to her until she was an adult already. She hoped that everything would be alright for Safi.

Safi looked a bit sheepish, shifting from one front paw to the other. "I uh...kinda got lost. Ya see...I saw this really pretty butterfly, and I followed it...and I went too far." He looked a bit sad. "I miss them, but I know we're under the same sky. I know we see the same stars, and same moon!" He grinned again. "I'm Safi'mmoja! But lots call me Safi!"
