Hamaki was lounging by a watering hole, her front feet dipped into the cool liquid. She watched the sunset with her one good eye, the other gazing unseeing into nothing. She wondered about her children for a little while, letting her thoughts scatter in all directions. Usually they went to her kids or to her past, and today was no different.

The small black dog stood and stretched, wading into the water to lap at it. She watched her wavering reflection in its depths, and she sighed heavily before her tongue dispersed the image as she lapped at the water. She wondered if she would ever get her revenge on the lioness that killed her family, or if she would spend eternity wandering in futile attempts.

It was horrible. Not only had she left the pride four days ago-but she was hopelessly lost. After searching and walking and asking strangers-she started to cry. This couldn't be happening. She left home-she couldn't go back to the Kunada-kun lands with her family-it wouldn't be the same. She had to find Nadra... the female lioness who looked so simliar... pale white as the clouds above-with red eyes. Moray was haunted by her when she left the pride-and Moray had drawn herself together-and sook out Nadra... to ask for her heart.

Sure, it was a rather wild thing for a young female like she it to be concerned with-but Moray knew what she wanted... she knew that it was what she truely wished for. But-she was lost and the world was so big... and she was alone for once. As tears ran down her white cheeks-she padded along, feeling weak with hunger and thirst. She kept scenting water in the air-and was heading towards the same water hole as the black dog. She sniffled occasionally in her turmoil

Hamaki quenched her thirst, then walked back to the shore. She laid down beneath a tree, watching the sun set once more. It had traveled far in her time away from watching it, and she followed its path with her gaze as it finished its journey into sleep.

Hamaki sniffed the air suddenly, her head spinning around as the small lion walked towards her. Her immediate reaction was hate; burning, uncontrollable hate. Lions were scum in the dogs eyes, creatures to be killed on sight. But as the small creature walked closer, Hamaki noticed she was crying, and she was obviously lost. Her heart went out to the lion, and she was sickened by the fact that she didn't want to tear it's throat apart. After having her own children, she had softened considerably.

"Are you alright?" She called out, her voice soft and full of concern, though she tried to mask it with indifference.

Moray sniffled and stopped to rub her cheek with a yellowish paw. She had to keep up her hope of finding Nadra-or she'd surely suffer and die out in this world. A world where females did not rule. She had already been approached by a Male and he was so rude-if he was in the Kunada he'd be surely punished greatly.... but she had to remember she was not home-this was life now. So far-she hated it.

She spotted the water-her purple eyes alight in excitement. A comfort water would be-perhaps some food would be nearby. She could feel her spirits lift-but suddenly a voice rang out to her. She stopped, paw mid step... eyes wide in fright. Another stranger? She stumbled slightly as she looked around, Purple eyes watering in her fear. Then, she spotted it-a big black creature with a body she had never seen before. She shook, crouching. Being she was in a pride full of lioness's and lions... she had never seen a wild dog before. Let alone someone so black-other than her cousin Mawu. "H-h-hello?" She called out, her small voice trembling

Hamaki watched the frightened lion with an expressionless gaze. She gave a small smile to her though, remaining where she was. She didn't want to step forward and scare the child off.

"Hello there." She said softly, sitting down to try and seem less intimidating. "I'm Hamaki. What's your name?" She asked, hoping to win the child's favor before pressing her for information on her life, where she was from and if the dog could help her get home.

Moray could just die... she was so lonely and miserable. Oh, where did her lovely white love go. She felt hot tears tumble over her cheeks as she stumbled toward the black dog. Maybe, just maybe... this stranger could have seen her... could help her know here Nadra was... which was she went.. "I-I-I'm Moray... I'm looking f-f-f-for my good friend Nadra... she is white like me... only.... all white with r-r-r-r-red eyes..." She stuttered, stepping closer yet, looking up to the stranger with sad purple eyes of her mother.

"I lost her... she left my pride and I lost her before I could find her and tell her that-that-that-I love her... and now... I can't find her and tell her..." She stammered, looking down at her dirty feel pitifully.

Hamaki watched the sad little lioness with concerned eyes. "Alright, alright. Calm down now." She said soothingly, walking closer to her. She sat down, licking the cubs head a few times in a motherly fashion. "I haven't seen your friend, but I could help you look for her." She said, smiling a little at the lost cub. "But first, how about some food? You look hungry. I have leftovers from the meal I had earlier, you may eat the rest if you wish."

Hamaki stood, walking towards her den. Now that her children were grown, she felt the strong motherly urge to nurture, and this small cub was lucky that Hamaki felt that urge, or she would surely be in much pain by now.

Moray sniffled as her woe and sadness seemed to life a little when the dark stranger suggested helping. She looked up, her purple eyes blinking slowly. She stepped up and stood closer to Hamaki... shutting her eyes as the comfort of her kisses made her sadness fall away. She sniffled a bit less and felt her tears dry momentarily. "I am hungry... i've been traveling for a l-l-long time... and... I think that would make me feel better Ma'me.' She said quietly, her eyes shutting as she breathed.

"I am not so good at hunting still... I shouldn't have left home but... I did..." She added, looking up to her with a childish grin. "I'm Moray..."

Hamaki smiled down at the cub and walked towards the den. She glanced behind, making sure Moray was following. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Moray. I am Hamaki." She said, looking forward once more.

The two were certainly an odd pair. A little lost lioness and a strange dog with bones adorning her back. Hamaki walked into the small den, the scent of fresh blood filled it. She breathed deeply, enjoying the aroma immensely.

"Right over there." She said, pointing to a small zebra carcass in the corner. She had beens saving it for supper but she figured the small child could use it more.

Moray followed the dark female, taking note of the bones adorning her back and wondered what kind they were. She was not used to seeing the bones and left overs of a kill, it was usually taken away and disposed off quickly after eatting. She imagined it might be normal for someone out here in the world though and did not think much of it. She smiled up at Hamaki, her purple eyes no longer watering at all now. She was a bit more comfortable.

"And a pleasure to meet you ma'me." She said kindly, padding into the cave, not disturbed by the smell at all. She went over to the dead creature and began to eat, not caring it was old... not caring that it was someone else's meal... all she knew was that she was hungry. Hungry now.

Hamaki watched her eat, sitting down beside her. She laid down, crossing her paws in front of her. The bones along her back clinked together sickly, but she ignored it. She was deep in thought as she watched the small lioness eat. What a difference her life was now, not so many moons ago she would have killed this creature on sight. Any revenge she could spend on any lion would suit her until she found the one she spent her life seeking. But after having children, she just couldn't bring herself to end the life of a youngster.

She pulled herself from her thoughts, blinking a few times. "So, Moray, what does this other you're looking for look like? If I'm going to help you then I should know what she looks like, hmm?" She said with a hint of a smile.

Moray looked over at the dark female while she ate, a bit fascinated by the bones now... why would one wear such a thing like that... the bones of the dead. But, she figured some did things while others didn't and that was that. She blinked her purple eyes, clearing any evidence of having a meal from her lips before speaking. "Her name is Nadra... Nadra Zuri. We came from a pride called the Kunada'kun... where heirarchy is strict and high... and because of our diffrence ranks, we could never be together... and Nadra left... and I followed... cause I want to be wtih her." She paused.

"She is completly white... an adult... and with red eyes... she is so pretty, white like me too... just no yellow... and so kind to me... " She gazed into the distance for a moment. "She was... so kind."

Hamaki laid down in the den, folding her paws one over the other. She nodded a bit, thinking of all the creatures she had met over her lifetime. She had never seen a lioness fitting this description. Hamaki shook her head a little, smiling sadly.

"I don't believe I've ever seen a lioness like that before." She said, shrugging a little. "But I'll keep an eye out for her. Perhaps you should rest, Moray. You've been through a lot." She stood again, looking outside. "I'll stand watch over you until you wake again. Perhaps we can search for her together in the morning." She smiled at the little cub, then stepped outside, sitting down right outside the entrance to the den. She watched the sky as the sun began to set, ending the unusual day for the unusual pair.

Moray blinked at the dog, her purple eyes much more soft and calm than they had been. She felt comforted by her, words and presence. She padded into the cave. "She is the most beautiful lioness I have seen ever..." She said simply, quietly... as though it hurt to say it.

She lay down inside the den, her legs stretched out behind her... her belly against the cool sand. She lifted her head, looking to Hamiki. "Thank you for helping me." She said, her head cocking as she yawned. She shook her ears, wiggled herself into the ground and with a sigh-shut her eyes.
