Thanatos trotted down the river back and sloshed a bit into the water. The hot sun was bearing down today. Same as yesterday. For being early in the year still it was ungodly hot. His dark coat didn't help matters, but the cold water of the river helped cool him down. He lapped at it to quench his thirst.

Forte had just crossed the bridge when she saw Thanatos down the way some. She laughed a little to herself and she headed over to him. Her let her bright blue eyes watch his movements. It was hot today, she could easily agree to that. She barked at him lightly, as she got closer, before sitting down on the shore line watching him."Hey there sunshine~"

Thanatos' head snapped up from the water. "Oh you've gotta be kidding me," he muttered to himself. He turned to look at Forte who was sitting on the river bank behind him. "What do you want?" he snarled.

Forte laughed some and murred a little. "I'm just out for a walk and I saw you." She blinked at him and pawed at him a bit. "It's hot out again, isn't it." She looked up at the sky and then she stood, pawing at his tail a bit. "What are you doing today?"

Thanatos gave her a flat look. "What do you think it looks like I'm doing today?! I'm swimming! And yes it's hot...hence...I'm in the cold river..." The heat seemed to be making Thanatos even more horrid than usual. He flicked his tail away from her and moved farther out into the river. "If your so keen on hanging around me then why don't you go swimming too..."

Forte blinked at him and her ears perked up. She looked down at the water. She never really did learn to swim all that well. She tilted her head and puffed up at him. She wouldn't back down. She stood up and padded over, placing her front paws into the water. It was chilly, and she felt it, but it was nice. She pranced into to about mid leg, and she looked back at Thanatos, using her tail to splash a little water at him.

Thanatos was well aware of Forte's inability to swim and was enjoying watching her attempt the water just because of him. "Are you sure you want to swim?" he mocked her. Though getting splashed just seemed to irk him more.

Backing down would be the safe thing to do, her paws pawed at the water some, and she flattened her ears, trying to remember how it was done... "Well you're swimming, so I might as well too." She moved in out deeper, trying to do the paddling right, but it just seemed off. She felt the current getting stronger the further she went out, and worked on staying in one place.

Thanatos made an annoyed face and suddenly came and and his back feet lashed out and knocked her back to the swallow end. "Stay there," he snapped and then made his way over to her and climbed out shaking himself.

Thanatos had caught her off guard, and looked over at him, laying in the shallow area near the shore. She perked her ears at him, she wondered if he'd save her had it gotten to that point, but maybe he was keener then she had thought. She smirked, more to herself then anything about the situation. She stood up, with a little bit of a stumble and she shook herself, as she padded out. "So you knew?"

Thanatos glanced over his shoulder at her. He still had a rather irritated look on his face. "Of course I know...Anyone who watched you would know...if they where smart enough." He started to head down river. "Better get out of the water before you get yourself into more trouble," he called over his shoulder.

She blinked at him and sighed a little, she shook off again just for extra measure. She looked at him walking away and she padded after him, saying several steps behind. "Thanatos, why are you always so angry? You know I'm just trying to be your friend." She walked a little fasted to be almost walking next to him.

He was walking in a low way, head down and a flat irritated look still plastered on his face. He glanced side ways at her. "I'm not angry....." he muttered. "And why did you want to be my friend anyway? What's so special?"

"Really? you could have fooled me." She stated matter of factly. She sighed some at him, when he questioned her. She wasn't really all that sure. "I don't really know. I know that I've been seeing you a lot lately. I just kind of like being around you, oddly enough. I guess you could say, I find you interesting, and I want to know more about you. I mean you never know, we could have things in common." She laughed a little at the idea, she wasn't so sure of that idea. "Why are you so against having me as a friend?"

He stopped suddenly. "Boy you sure talk a lot and who said I was against having you as a friend? I'm mean seriously....sometimes a guy just wants some alone time and yeah...other just don't seem to get it. But if you really want to hang around me fine..go ahead..." Thanatos started to walk off again.
