I joined JSG a while ago, in hopes of furthering my japanese speaking skills, which are next to nothing. I can say basic stuff, mostly learned from anime. My point is, I realize that just posting a blurb in the sensei-finding thread won't help me learn anything, especially since if I stay inactive, I'll get kicked out

BTW, I don't know hiragana/katakana/romaji at all.
I've been learning how to speak it, not write it.
That said..

And I'm not trying to be mean, but you're not going to get ANYWHERE if you don't know kana at least. Especially here, because that and romaji are pretty much the only ways we'll be able to help you.
