Locke was now old enough to at least play outside on his own, though Shino, his guardian, would usually still watch from inside her friend's shrine when she brought Locke here to visit. He personally thought she worried too much, but it was no big deal. He just went on about his business as usual. He loved to hang outside here. There was such a peaceful aura to the place, and there was all kinds of exploring to do with the surrounding forst. Sometimes animals like bunnies or deer would come out. And he had also recently found it fun to catch and release butterflies. He couldn't believe how different the wings were compared to his own; so fragile, and not even made of feathers, but they could still fly.
And so, currently he was in the process of following one around the large yard, just past the temple gates.

"Yuki. Come on. Do you really have to be so stubborn?" Came a female voice from a young woman. She was standing in the path way to a large building in the distance. From where she stood, the gates to the shine were visable but from where her now young care stood, all it appeared to be was a large hill and a never ending path.
The young angel stood next to the path, her eyes going from the flowers next to her back to her guardian. They had been walking for some time now and she was tried. Try as she might to stop, Sirene always won in the end. Not this time...
"Yuki! Don't make me come down there and carry you." Sera said giving her a stern look before crossing her hands over her chest.
In return, Yuki, just let out a soft smile and moved her wings softly just to the point the metal sound rang free. It was all she needed to do to ensure Sirene wouldn't hold to that threat.
"Fine then. If that is how you are going to be." Sirene said as she turned from the angel. Love and care for her she might but at this point, she was late enough as is. Besides, what could Yuki get into?
Yuki just stood there for a moment as Sirene's long hair disappeared over the hill. It couldn't be. She had won? Well, that was new.
A smile crossed the angels face as she moved into a flower patch next to the path. Just as she bent down to play with a lady bug she had found, suddenly, everything looked smaller. It was then she realized her feet where no longer on the gound and a presure was on her stomach. Looking up, Sirene was there, holding her in her arms, a smirk on her face.
"Did you really think you had won? I don't keep on the thicker cloth for nothing." She smiled as she carried Yuki over the hill and towards the Gate of the Shine, the little angel crossing her own arms in protest.

The butterfly moved in a rather erratic pattern, and Locke wondered how they managed to get where they were going in the first place. If their goal was Point A, did that mean they flew toward Point B instead in hopes of actually ending up at their destination? He contemplated this a moment before something else caught his attention; he sensed something. Another Herald? Was someone coming to the shrine? He left the butterfly, and headed toward the gate, flapping his wood-like wings almost as if to propel himself along.
That's when he spotted them; an interesting duo. A young woman, and a herald were visiting? He had better go and greet them. He smiled and waved at the newcomers as he went to meet them.

"Come on now. You know just as well as I do that we both enjoy shrines." Sirene said with a smile as she and Yuki got closer to the gates. The angel was still protesting being picked up. Sirene had gotten used to the fact that those wings were painful when she got made and had started wearing either thicker clothing or a protective layer under or around her dress. Today, she had a soft armor under her outfit.
Yuki's eyes were showing her disappointment at her guardian. She was looking elsewhere as the hair fell in her face. Still, she could make out the movement of something out of the corner of her eye. Turning her head as best as she could, Yuki found herself smiling as she watched a butterfly heading towards a flower. She wanted to watch it some more but it was suddenly taken from sight as Sirene set her down.
Since she hadn't expected it, Yuki had ended up on her butt just short of the shrine gate. Looking up at it, a smile formed on her face as Sirene looked down at her. Like guardian like angel. Sure they fought but there was an understanding between the two. Sometimes it was a mother/daughter feeling and others, a master/student. Today was a master/student.
Standing up, Yuki took the pose Sirene had taught her. Quickly, she gave a deep bow before waiting for Sirene to enter and following.
"Well now." Sirene said stopping just as she crossed the gate. "Seems we aren't alone."
Yuki blinked before looking past Sirene and towards a boy running towards them. It took a moment but then she noticed something was different. It wasn't like most boys that she knew but had wings...like her.
An eyebrow rose on Yuki's face as she watched him. Stepping from behind Sirene, she cocked her head to the side, unsure of how to treat this. Sirene had taught her edicate but now she was mixing two different things.
"Go on now. I think he wishes to welcome us." Sirene smiled giving Yuki a nod before a look saying "be nice".

Shino watched Locke, curiousit getting the best of her, she wandered outside to see who he was running and waving at. "Ooh guests?" she questioned, suprised. Though she had visited the shrine, her friend's home, many times, she never seemed to be around when new people came to visit. But today was apparently different, so hopefully she'd make some new friends, and Locke too; for it seemed one of the two strangers was a Herald too.
Locke bowed curteously and greeted the visitors, "Hello. My name is Locke. Welcome to the Shrine."
Shino, his little mouse girl guardian, glided up to stand behind him and introduce herself as well. "Hi, and my name is Shino. Have you come to visit the Shrine? Oh-" she paused, "Though it's not really mine. My friends work and live here, if that's who you're looking to see," she offered with a smile. She wasn't really sure how shrine's worked other than offerings and ringing the bell. She'd never really been around for any festivals either. She'd have to ask Eri and Pyper about miko duties next time.
Locke wasn't really focused on the conversation at hand anymore though. He couldn't help but stare a little at Yuki's wings. They seemed to be a shiny metal, and he wanted to reach out and touch them, but something told him not to, for he might accidently cut his finger. They were so dangerous and yet so pretty. "Er...what's your name?" he finally asked with a slight blush.

Sirene smiled and looked down towards Locke. "Thank you so much for the welcome." She beamed before stepping aside for Yuki to get a good look at him. As a guardian, she had to protect her fallen angel. But now, she was going to force her into a little social contact and the other woman gave her than chance.
"It's nice to meet you Shino. I am Sirene." She added with a bow her her head. "In truth, I was looking for a place to pray for a bit."
Yuki appeared just on the side of her guardian, not happy that she was about to be left. She knew this trick.
But Locke's voice caused her to look back at him. "Yuki." Was her only answer before she fluttered her wings to give them the chimming of metal on metal.
Sirene quickly looked down at her angel with a glare all kids now: Be nice!
Yuki took it and turned back to Locke. "So what do you do around here?"

"Oh it's nice to meet you Sirene. Right this way," she replied with a gentle smile, ushering the woman in the direction of the bell and rope which hung above the offering box, where most people came to pray and ring the bell for good luck.
Locke looked a bit flustered when Yuki flapped her wings. He blushed a little, becoming just a tad bit nervous. But he shook the thoughts he was having form his mind. She did in fact seem nice, and she was trying to make conversation. Cutely, he rubbed his right foot against the back of his left leg, considering Yuki's question. "Um well...I like to catch butterflies....and fireflies at night..." He paued. Did that sound silly? Well he thought it was fun, especially with his friends. "I also like to play with... my dolls..." Well wasn't that intersting? He felt he was starting to sound like a little girl. So he added, "B-but I like to catch frogs'n stuff too. In the pond!"
His face flushed as he pointed in the direction of a small pond near the edge of the forest. "It's just over there."

Bowing her head slowly, Sirene gave the woman a soft smile as she let herself be taken away. "Thank you ever so much for all your help." She added as she spotted the cord.
Yuki had to raise an eyebrow as she watched the boy before her. As he rubbed one foot on the other, the young angel had to shake her head. If Sirene thought she was going to enjoy this, Yuki felt her guardian was wrong. But then, as he spoke, she had to let out a soft smile. "Fireflies? You have fireflies here?" She asked as her eyes went slightly wide. They were a beautiful creature that she had seen in the gardens of her home and loved so much to capture at night. But then, when Locke spoke of dolls, her thoughts of him dropped again. Strange but sadly, this was all she could do now.
As he spoke again, she suddenly became interested. "Would you mind showing me the pond?"
