Kama lifted his head from the riverbank, his muzzle dripping as he stared at his reflection before it was disturbed by the falling drops of water. Leaning back over, he took a few more swallows before looking around to see if anyone else was about.
What he wanted most right now was a friend, someone he could talk to openly but to be quite honest, he had no clue who he could even go to, much less how to approach someone. Stallions made him nervous simply cause they all seemed so confident and sure of themselves, while he was anything but...and a mare? Fate was bound and determined to make him a fool in front of them. Sighing, he looked bad down thoughtfully at his reflection and tried to think of a way out of his dilemma.

My the weather was nice today. It was a sweet change to the past days that had been cursed with hard winds. So much so that a certain mare had lost some of her plummage to the gusts. Her neck arched as she groomed her back as best she could, already missing the few gone pieces. Giving a sigh, Setsumi ended her chore. No use weeping what will grow back.
With a small flick of her ears, the soquili set out on an aimless walk. She wasn't too familiar with this area, but in the very least she could hear a creek nearby. That would be a good land mark in case she got lost. Dragging her long tail colored like watermist, she made her way beyond the trees.

Two brightly colored feathers blew about almost gaily as they danced upon the breeze. They had caught Kama’s eye, and with an almost dazed expression he watched them waltz closer and closer till they plastered themselves on his nose. At the same time, he inhaled and one was sucked inside a nostril and lodged there. Tickled beyond belief, he let out a loud sneeze before shaking his head and wiggling his nose trying to get them off. Unsuccessfully he was reduced to a sort of sneezing, shaking, snorting strut making him look like he was doing some sort of weird rain dance in a circle near the water. His eye closed from his continuous sneezing, he missed a step and fell on his side into the river. Thankfully, his loud snort of surprise was what finally got rid of that ticklish demon.
He lay in the water panting, blushing when he saw a mare appear who’s back was covered with those beautiful (and deadly!) feathers. Blushing with embarrassment that once more he’d been caught in some clumsy act, he tried to smile and act like he’d meant to do all that. “H-hello…”

Hm?
Setsumi curved her neck to an odd sound that carried passed the wind. What had that been? It didn't sound too pleasant. Soon enough, the source of the sounds was located, a flailing bundle of white edged with green and red. The mare watched in baffled amusement as he snorted and sputtered while waltzing in some circles. Was this....normal behavior for the other? Teal eyes trailed his form, not spotting any injuries or causes of such actions. But her analyzing faultered as the stallion tripped on his own hooves, herself gasping to his troubles. Carefully, she tread over in his direction.
"Hey....are you alright there?" She lowered her velveteen nose somewhat, as if that would give her the answers. Or at least appear as a friendly gesture of greeting. Ears turned uptright to his (surprisingly) chill 'hello'. She gave a lop-sided grin in response. "Well...hello to you too."

"S-sorry, I...well...I..." Kama stammered, unsure how to respond, trying to apologize, but even for what he wasn't sure. Getting to his feet, he shook himself and made sure nothing was broken before looking back at the mare. "Yeah, I'm okay, thanks...just...got something stuck in my nose that made me sneeze alot." He looked a mess with his legs and half his right side all caked in mud and leaves, and his tail and mane in complete disarray and dirty as well. "I-i-i'm usually much cleaner, I assure you..." Great, now he was sounding like his dad...what a great first impression! He sounded dorky and looked horrible. With a sad sigh, he muttered, "Man, I'm never going to get the hang of this stuff..."
He sighed once more and decided since she seemed nice enough, maybe she'd like him after all...a friend? That'd be nice to have. He'd give alot for one right now. Giving her his own lopsided smile, he offered, "My name's Kama, what's yours?"

Eyes blinked in slow consideration to the stallion's disposition. It certainly was an odd situation, him covered in mud and herself off to the side observing. With a small gasp, Setsumi pulled back and winced away as he shook off splotches of mud. Some of which landed on her front legs to lower neck. "Eh.."
"No need to apologize, so long as you're okay." She tilted her head to peek at his nose, not seeing any evidence of blockage. Only some pinked skin from aggitation. "Heh, well...I can only hope so." Kindly she turned to glimpse at the mud caked fur, then his dirt stringed hairs. "Maybe a good roll in the grass can help scrub it off?.." Sure she was used to grooming, but only her own pelt and not others.
Curious, the mare lifted eyes to the other. What stuff was he talking about? The mud? The sneezing? But he smiled, and Setsumi pushed aside her own pondering to smile steadily back. "Kama then. Hello...I'm Setsumi."
