As i look at the mines, if I remember to have libra on; is that writing on that column? has anyone been able look real close or decipher that?
Because I have nothing better to do that wonder about that sort of stuff...

those pink land mines that look like upside down tacks. if you look at the part sticking up, it looks like there is writing. surprised

Oh, I know exactly what you're talking about! I used to try to read them, but eventually gave up and put them down as miscallenious runes.

heart thanks...feels good to know i wasn't the only one squinting at my TV screen zooming in zooming out...
i guess we can chalk this up to Lord of the Rings-like writing...
i though maybe deciphered them or has come up with something tangible/believable. I coulda swore that one of the "words" looked like "playstation"...

I don't remember ever particularly seeing writing, but I'll have to look next time I play the game.

As a note, I feel as though someone should record the screen and post the pictures in this thread. If you look really closely, the easter egg is that it's both al bhed and writing style from FFX. Just sayin, those aren't runes, they just look like really weird writing. The only way to view the writing is to screen capture and view the tops of the columns at 350% magnification.
Don't believe me? Test it. (Make sure to have an al bhed translator nearby.)
