for those who don't know what Full Metal Panic is
here is a summary
Sosuke Sagara is an elite soldier who belongs to an independent special force named "Mithril". Mithril is a self appointed military force that fights terrorism across the globe. With technology that is far superior to that of normal nations, Mithril intercedes on behalf of justice. Sagara, a Second Lieutenant under Mithril's command, is assigned to the duty of protecting a girl named Kaname Chidori, who attends high school in Japan. To accomplish this task, he pretends to be a transfer student attending at Kaname's school. As Sagara settles into his new role as classmate, a massive plot unfolds beginning with the kidnapping of Chidori. What is Chidori's role in the conspiracy? Why does she seem to be born with knowledge of technology that has only been recently invented?
(just so you know, Full Metal Panic has nothing to do with Full Metal Alchemist)

Too lazy to post a review so I'll just post one when I finish watching the last Fomoffu DVD in October.

Sometimes I think that show is way too military for me. Plus it makes me wonder, would ROTC be that way in the next 50 or 100 years (a friend of mine wants to start designing already. I don't doubt him. He has the uncanny ability for making already dangerous objects and weapons into deadly items. Scares me sometimes but I trust him. Of course if he makes one, we have a contract so I get one free).

My friend is buying Vol. 3 and 4 of Fumoffu today. Like I said earlier, I'll probably borrow his entire FMP series in December or so.

They way I think of it is as the things that happened in the manga but taken out of the anime. So pretty much, anything that wasn't in the anime yet and in the manga, is in Fomoffu.

Wouldn't know. Haven't seen it. xd
It all depends though. Comedy wise, the manga was better than the show, but the show made up for it by showing great action and giving the "romance" between Chidori and Sosuke a more human sense. Yet there are some unforgetable moments that in my opinion should be in the show.
So in short, yes for the comedy parts..... Like the part where he shoots the chef ninja in the crotch with rubber bullets from a shotgun. Oh the funny violence. And the teddy bear scene is actually a part early on in the manga.
