-- AIM Rp between Sarafina, Chrnobog and Sukari ((Kisoni & DFA))

Three days later, the Queen found herself patrolling a sector of her lands alone. That she was alone was actually quite rare; one of the cubs or her General usually accompanied her in such matters, but today she wished to think.

The lioness Ashiki had brought in was doing much better for being in the care of others... but after what she had been put through, that wasn't saying much of anything. The paw that had been sprained, at least, looked as if it would heal in time. The left eye that had been swollen shut had, with a good washing, begun to return to normal, yet only time would tell whether or not Vinuka would keep her vision.

Sarafina wanted to know why.

Not that the precise fate of one random lioness really bothered her all that much, but the fact that she had fallen into such a state close to Sarafina's tiny kingdom bothered the Queen. What did it to her, Why did they do it to her, and What did it mean for the safety of her people?

For this reason she'd sent Sukari out in the opposite direction from her. Of all those in the Outlands, Sarafina only held true confidence in the physical ability of herself and her General to deal with outsiders... for now, anyway. There was still a hope, if a vague, potentially vain one, that something would come of the cubs they were raising.

She didn't allow herself a sigh at that thought, but instead paused to rest ontop a dusty hill from which she could barely see the peaks of her termite castle in the distance. She was a long way from the pridal base, near the edge of their lands.... but that didn't bother her.

There had been blood. Blood everywhere. It'd marred his form; his claws, his maw, his face... everything. He didn't remember hunting...? Waking up had been traumatic; further enhanced by the fact something at the back of his mind told him the blood was not his. He hurt, sure, but the pain wasn't seeping from any sort of injury that he could see. Frustrated, confused and mildly scared, the male had fled from the spot he'd woken up from; that had been three days ago, and still he padded without direction.

At least... he thought he'd been going without a clear direction. Unconciously though, despite his foggy mind, he'd been following a distant scent. She'd been with him hadn't she? where had she gone to? Where was she? Why was she gone? The thoughts came and went through his mind, his eyes unfocused; he'd come without water, without food... he'd walked till he collpased each night and got up each morning again to repeat the the process.

He wasn't even sure why he was putting himself through such strain, but then again, his mind wasn't cooperating with him. I just told him to walk. And that's probably how Sarafina found Chrnobog; padding her way, his frame worse for wear, his eyes unfocused, dry blood clinging to him... the dirt and mud he'd also refused to clean adding to make the dark lion a rather pityful sight.

No words were spoken, no sounds. Instead, before he even noticed the Queen's presence, the male collapsed on his side, spent.

What was it with dirty, tarnished lions coming to her land to collapse? Really, it was almost an insult at this point. Sarafina stared down at the lion at her feet, a distinct scowl on her face as she considered that.

This one was bloody... but she couldn't see any obvious wounds on him. Of course he was so dirty she might have missed it, yet there was another scent still upon him, lingering under his own and mixed with the dirst and sweat and blood. Perhaps this was their answer to Vinuka's sorry state, and if it was, she'd likely be better off to put the thing out of its apparant misery.

Sarafina reached a paws out and poked its shoulder with one prudent claw.

Indeed, the scent that clung to him was that of Vinuka; he'd been unconciously following it, a need he did not quite understand, at least not within his still traumatised mind.

The claw that poked his shoulder only elicited a slight shudder, eerie red eyes opening to the world; there was no white in his eyes, consumed entirely by the blood hued tones. They stared open at nothing, then slowly lifted up towards Sarafina; confusion clouded them, almost as if he'd been expecting someone else, not the female that stood before him, "Vinuka...?" but no, it wasn't her, and the male's eyes closed again, a growl rumbling his throat shortly after.

Well.. that was certainly something, at least. Sarafina's eyes narrowed. She'd managed to get the girl's name out of her the day before, when she'd woke again for some food and water; This male knew her... yet she still insisted that she hadn't known the one that had beaten her so badly.

Sarafina wasn't certain whether she believed that or not, and this incident was steadily turning her decision on that to 'not'. Under a less grave circumstance she may have drug the boy back to the Termite Mounds and questioned them both again, but as he was a potentially dangerous sod... well. It was clearly a bad situation, and likly more for him than any other. "No, not Vinuka.. and not likely to be ever, at the rate this is going," Sarafina replied slowly. She rose and climbed up upon some nearby boulders so that she could see further into the distance.

Even though she couldn't see Sukari, the Queen gave a very demanding sort of roar. Sound carried far in this place, and with any luck Sukari would be in a place to hear it. She needed her General's opinion on this one.

They could leave him here to die, and possibly come back for him later.. or remove the potential threat now. Sarafina wasn't certain which was the wisest--after all, she could be wrong, and this not more than another victim.

There was only a twitch of the male's ear upon Sarafina's words; it seemed that wasn't what he wanted to hear though, for the moment it registered in his mind, he groaned. A breath was released again, his eyes opening to stare at the female; he couldn't force himself up... his mind was fogged and he couldn't think straight and then, he closed his eyes, a sigh escaping his throat, producing a small cloud of dust upon his breath.

He remain utterly still for a moment, as if he'd fallen unconcious, and then, slowly, the male's eyes opened again, his paws coming to lift his frame with obvious difficulty. Something seemed off this time though; it was almost as if the way his eyes twinkled had changed. There was a darker pit within his eyes as he glared at Sarafina, managing to push himself into a semi-sitting position despite being obviously drained, "Where is she? Where are you hidding her? She's mine!" a sharp cough following, dragging blood up his throat, which slithered over his chin as the male spit on the floor. It was as if his personality had done a complete 180 ยบ change.

In the distance, unseen by the male, a figure approached at a steady pace; it seemed the general had heard the call.

Sarafina turned when she heard a sound behind her. Having no clue as to the male's personality, the change wasn't at all apparant to her. There was a definite smell of aggression surrounding him, though, something that hadn't been there a second before. The words, also, were more than a little telling--it was a good thing she had called Sukari, even if Sarafina thought she could take a male so physically drained as this one seemed to be.

The Queen's eyes narrowed again upon her. "perhaps the question here is more 'what have you done to her.' Answer that and perhaps you'll find why it is she is absent from your side."

Sarafina did not move closer, but neither did she move away. For now she merely watched the blood eyed male and gauged his reactions as he made them.

It was obvious the male couldn't have moved further even if he'd wanted to; further obvious was the fact he seemed to know it too, for his eyes narrowed, a snarl ripping through his chest at the demand. Despite the obvious murder that shone in his eyes, he moved not an inch... it was taking an obvious effort (and strength, really) to stay sitting up. Had he not been drained, he'd have made for an a formidable oponent, that much could be seen not only in the way he glared at the Queen, but in the way he held himself, breathing deeply, as if he had nothing to lose.

Nothing further to lose, rather, "Give her back," he stated low, "She's MINE," another streak of coughs assaulted him, and more blood was hacked up, as if the strain he was putting himself through were causing him to be physicaly hurt.

Sukari, whom had only caught the male's few words as she approached, frowned. She remain a pace or two behind the Queen, waiting an order, her eyes racking over the male's body. Her first thought was that Sarafina had taught him a lesson, however... that thought flew right out the window upon further inspection; she couldn't see any wounds, "What the hell?" she asked as she approached to stand by Sarafina's side.

"Who says you didn't already kill her?" Sarafina asked with a brow. "I never said she remained with the living, only that you're not likely to see her again."

Her head turned, but only slightly, when Sukari joined her. "I believe I've found the source of our little massacre. And I've a question, more of a riddle really, of whether he's worth keeping alive, especially as he makes such a prime target for disposal at the moment."

His eyes narrowed then, his gaze lifting to meet the queen's again; his breathing was ragged, harsh, "I know she's alive; I feel it. I can smell her," he swallowed roughly and then after another growl, his paws gave in to his weight and he collapsed on the ground, exhausted again. Chrnobog's eyes closed and the harsh cough and breathing stopped, replaced by a softer weezing; not that the females would note a diference.

However, when his red blood eyes reopened, there was a feverish quality to them, the murdering glare gone, replaced with confussion and fuzziness. He merely offered them a glance before he fainted, his mind and body having taken as much toll as was posible; he'd pushed himself to the limit. The real question that remain suspended in the air was 'why'.

A grimace from the older female, whom lifted her head higher up as the male fainted; the sight of him was pityful. Grime, dirt and blood clung to his form, making it hard to note his actual markings under the mantel of filth, "What was that about?" the words were murmured, thought outloud before her gaze slid towards Sarafina. Sukari's tail flicked once, twice before she leaned in to sniff his scent, "Ain't this one a riddle himself," she drawled. She wasn't too sure what to say about him, however, she was intriguided by what little she'd heard, "I don't know you, but... I think he's in enough a pityful state he won't be a menace to us, specialy if we lock him up somewhere. Restrain him. That, and I'm... morbidly curious."

"Lock him up? unless we throw him in a pit, I don't quite see how we'll stop anyone from getting to him.... Though I am rather curious about it myself." Sarafina agreed softly, giving a slight nod. She'd watched the male faint with an aura of disgust not unlike Sukari's own. Yet.. killing him when he could provide some amusement yet was not so tempting a thought anymore. They had the children to think of, though. "I suppose we could shove a boulder in front of a den."

"Hmmm... I was thinking of shoving a large bolder in the entrace of a cavern. We have plenty," a sneer mared her maw as she glanced down at the body, "Why would anyone do that to one's own body?" the disgust dripped off her words, her tongue coming to lick her maw; after all, if there was something the General prided herself in, it was her body. True, she was smaller than Sarafina... her mistweaver heritage shoving, however, this did not keep the General from being rather efficient. Not to mention beautiful; or at least, she thought herself to be rather pleasing to the eye, scars aside.

Another 'humming' sound seemed to roll through Sukari's chest, "Why would anyone attempt to murder someone... and then do this?" a roll of her shoulder indicated the fact she couldn't reach a sane enough conclusion, "I'm rather morbidly fascinated."

"There's no question he did try and murder her, though. We'll have to question Vinuka again, when she wakes.."

After a moment the Queen came to her decision and gave a brisk nod. "Alright. Help me get him back to the Mounds. I can't quite carry him by myself, I don't think." Sarafina rose and made her way back down to the body.

A nod from he general indicated she agreed with the queen's words; the female they'd taken in had been badly beaten... but what had intrigued Sukari was the fact she'd carried none of her attacker's blood on her. Nothing. It was almost as if she'd allowed herself to be practicaly massacred.

With a soft snort that voiced the fact she could simply not wrap her mind around it all, she padded towards the unmoving lion, helping the queen carry his weight.
