Jayoku was moving about in a flurry of activity, she had to get ready for the lunch in with June and Duncan. She had been so flustered in the morning having Adriel suddenly outgrow his clothes as well his crib.
"Adriel! Could you help me please?" She called as she opened the fridge to take out some carrots.
Adriel was wearing only a shirt that was horridly mutalated to allow his tentacles freedom. He peered around the corner curiously having heard his mothers call.
"...Y..yes?" He asked stuttering as he himself felt out of his own skin. Eveything seemed so much smaller than before and...his mothers reaction to him being in her bed had given him a bit of a fright. Was this strange growth spurt going to happen again? What would be next?
"Come not Adriel your friend Duncan is coming over soon with his father I need your help to get him ready. Do we still have that cake we picked up from the bakery?" She asked in a hurried tone.
Adirel moved around the counter and nodded his head quietly.
"I...I think we do.." He replied uncertianly, his tentacles caressed his cheek as if to reassure him.
"Then get it out honey they should be here soon." she ordered as she began to peel and cut the carrots.

June had woke up at nine with the idea of getting his son up out of bed, get him dressed in actual clothing, and hopefully be out to Jayoku's place by noon. They were running a little late though given what had happened the night before. Who would have thought that he would put his boy to bed as a little bitty boy and would wake up with him being almost doubled in size and more grouchy?
He looked down at his son who was holding onto his hand tightly, growling lightly as they walked towards Jayoku's place. The boy felt a bit sore, a bit upset, and all of his eyes were narrowed and angry.
"Maybe we should see about doing this on another day when your feeling more up to it?" June suggested to his son.
The boy shifted back and forth, lowering a clawed hand to tug at the pants he'd been forced to wear. His eyes looked up at his father and then he shook his head, "No." He growled, not wanting to leave since they had already come this far, "Adriel."
June nodded, "Alright, we will try it out but we will go home if we need too." It was a warning for the boy, to make sure that he didn't have one of his anger fits. It was possible give his current mood and one could only hope he mellowed out around the other demon boy.

Adriel perked an ear towards the door, like a puppy who just heard something his mother could not. The cake balanced wairly in his hands he placed it on the table gently before trotting towards the front door.
Jayoku watched him in curiousity wondering just what he was up to, for unless she had gone temporarily deaf she had not heard the front door bell ring or even a knock. With a casual shrug she continued to cut carrots and placing them on a tray.
Adriel peered out the side window shyly, as if scared that what he had heard was nothing. June and Duncan were a bit late it made him more anxious. He wanted to see Duncan now, for whatever reason was beyond him. His tentacles had been sulking most the day from the earlier scolding of not to touch others unless given permission lecture but they perked up as Adriel got more excited.
He could see the red skinned boy and his father coming up the driveway!
"M...mama! Duncan! Can I Open the door?" He asked even though his tentacles were already reaching for the door knob.
"Hm?? There here?? Uh...Okay Adriel let them in!" Came a voice that sounded a bit panicked meaning Jayoku was trying to hurriedly finish the snacks.
Adriel smiled and gave one more look out the side window before 'allowing' his tentacles to open the door.
"..H..helllo." He said his excitement fading rapidly away to shyness.

Juen gave a smile to Adriel as they stepped inside, "Hello there." He greeted the boy who it would seem had gone through the same sort of growth spurt as Duncan had. He looked around for where Jayoku was before saying, "Sorry about being late, we had a rather interesting morning." He called to her.
Duncan stepped inside, releasing his tight hold on his father to look over towards the shy boy, "Adriel." He said, giving a small wave of one clawed hand in greeting.
He was looking Adriel up and down now with three narrowed eyes, finding that he wasn't the only one to grow was a little irksome. He'd thought that he would be bigger and thusly would have an easier time bossing this kid around. Oh, well. One could only hope that despite his growth that the tentacles would have learned by not not to entangle him.
"Can you play nicely why I go say 'Hi' to Adriel's mother?" June asked of his glaring son.
Duncan respond with a grunt and a shrug, deciding it was the best he'd get June patted his boy on the head before going to seek out Jayoku.

Jayoku was still busy in the kitchen though she had heard June call out. "In the kitchen! And its alright, I am running behind it seems!" she replied with a laugh before scooping some other vegetables onto a platter and getting out some various dressings to dip them in.
"How are you doing June? You say you had an interesting morning? I did too how strange! What happened?" she asked with another laugh.
Adriel looked to Duncan shyly. He had wanted to see the boy so much and now that he was here....he wasn't so sure what to do with him. His tentacles did however. They reached out and upwards and entangle Duncan in a hug. They obviously remembered him and were more than happy to be reaquianted.
Being pulled close to the other boy he recalled how Duncan had gotten mad the last time his tentacles were like this, though he was strangely comferted by being so close.
"ah..I..I'm so..sorry." He stuttered more as he was squashed against Duncan's chest.

June gave a little shrug, "Its alright we were running a bit behind ourselves. I am just glad we didn't leave the two of you waiting on us." He said, glancing back the way he'd left the boys to their play, "It was... more then interesting, it was a bit confusing. Duncan... grew. I mean by a lot!"
He shook his head, "I was pretty surprised when I saw him, I had to rub at my eyes to make sure I wasn't seeing things."
Duncan gave a grunt of surprise when he found himself entangled, a low growling sound coming from his throat. He should have known that the tentacles weren't going to remain behaved. His wings twitched then set to flapping rapidly, giving off a chiming sound as they did.
"Release." He demanded, squirming in the other's grasp, hands lifting up best that they could to try to push him away. To tight!

Jayoku had paused in her preperations absorbing the information she had been given. So...Duncan grew as well? It made her a bit nervous, he had been a foul tempered boy...now he was a bigger boy. She wondered if that temper grew along side with him.
"Aha...yeah Adriel did the same thing to me." She replied her laugh sounding a tad uneasy. "Um would you care for a snack?" She asked finally placing all the vegetables onto a platter with three different dressings in little cup alongside it.
Adriel attempted to help Duncan in the 'release' of the tentacles, he tugged on them silently begging them to let go. He didn't want Duncan to hate him! He just finally got to see him again... Finally the irate tentacles released the boy though his left one lovingly stroked the boys cheek before returning to Adriel's side.
"I..I'm sorry..I..um.." Adriel stuttered wondering if Duncan was mad at him. "The..they were just happy to see you..Duncan.." he explained though it wasn't a good excuse to let them do whatever they wanted.

"Really? Thats good, I guess that means that Duncan isn't out of the ordinary with his growth spurt." He said, that was a good thing to know even if it had been very, very strange. He looked over at the tray she had laid out and reached a hand over to picked up a piece of celery. Vegetables weren't his normal thing but he would eat them none the less.
Duncan took a couple rapid steps back when the tentacles released their hold on him. Now that he was free of them he wanted to stay free of them. He looked at the limbs in an accusing sort of way. His trio of eyes were narrowed in an angry sort of way but he started to draw in slow, deep breaths to try to get the rising anger under control.
Adriel was a strange boy, one of few people his own age that he could deal with or even wanted to deal with. He had to deal with his strangely friendly tentacles if he was going to be friends with him.
"Friend." He said, giving a motion with his hand as if to say that since they were friends he would deal with the hugging.

Jayoku nodded her head wondering if everyone who had a child like this received the same surprise as they. She took note of June's snacking and took this as a good sign. Perhaps the kids were hungry as well?
"Adriel! Duncan! Come have a snack!" she called in a sing song tone to show that they weren't in trouble. SHe then returned her gaze at June.
"Did you want something to drink?" She offered.
Adriel pulled in his limbs a bit fearful the boy in front of him would hate him forever, would yell at him or worse...hurt him. But none of these things happened, he watched as Duncan took deep breaths and then the most surprising words came out of his mouth.
Friend.
Adriel gave a blank look but it soon brightened in happiness. Duncan was his friend! Even after all the tentacles had done to him he was a friend! He had to stop himself from doing his little happy dance. He did that only when he was alone.
"Yes yes friend!" he agree'd eagerly before tilting his head as he heard his mother call. Snack? He wasn't particularly hungry...but maybe Duncan was.
"You want a snack?" he asked eager to run off and fetch a treat for him if Duncan asked him of it.

Duncan turned his three eyed gaze towards where the woman's voice was coming from and then gave a bit of a smile. The offered snack food sounded really good to him. He looked over at the Adriel when he offered to get the snack for him before giving a shrug, "Lead." He said.
While he knew that the other boy could easily enough fetch the food he figured he could go with him. That way he could see what their parents were up to. He wasn't sure if he trusted the pair alone to talk since it was hard to tell what adults talked about.

Adriel just beamed happily at Duncan's smile, he was happy. Very happy he couldn't convey in words just how he felt for he wasn't exactly sure what the feeling was. He wanted to grab hold of Duncan's hand but decided against it as he knew frome experience that Duncan wasn't a huge fan of touching.
Instead he offered the boy a huge smile before trotting towards the kitchen. "Mama! Snacks?" he asked sounding very child like.
Jayoku half turned as she heard her son enter the kitchen, the fact he was smiling so brightly caused her to nearly sigh with relief. The other boy was following behind so it looked like they were getting along better this time.
"Well I have some veggies and dip for you." She offered with a smile.

Duncan followed after the other boy, giving a little sighing sound. He supposed that he should be happy that Adriel was easy enough to deal with, easy to amuse, and easy to make happy. At least that way he didn't have to struggle with keeping the other boy as his friend. After all he had no idea what it was that it could be that he could want, hugs and such of course but they were weird, made him feel odd inside.
He looked over at the snacks being presented to them then glanced over at his father in surprise. He saw June eating meat far more often then he ate anything else, the idea that he would actually eat stuff like what was being served surprised the red skinned boy.
Duncan reached a claws hand out, spearing a carrot on one of his sharp nails and picked it up, looked it over, then sniffed at it. He had no idea what it was but it didn't smell half bad he supposed. He took a bite of it, chewed, and held the other half out to Adriel.
He felt the innate desire he always got to share things that were his with others.

Adriel gave a happy sound, he didn't mind vegetables as it seemed his apendages like to have fun picking up and dipping the food into the various dips like it was a game. He looked a bit surprised as the half eaten carrot was presented to him by the easily angered boy.
Before he could reach for it tentitavely one of his tentacles reached forward and took hold of it. It then proceeded tosearch for the dipping bowl. Looking a tad abashed as his treat as it were was taken from his own limbs he pushed back his frown and smiled a crooked smile.
"Ah..they like to play a game." He explained as he moved closer tothe dipping bowl and allowed the apendage to dip..though a bit enthusiastically as it dipped too far...covering both carrot and the tip of the tentacle in dill pickle dip. Adriel groaned as he knew this was going to become a mess.
"Napki.." he started to ask for but the limb was alreaydon its way dripping with the dip and trying to feed Adriel...The poor boy gave an ack sound as his shirt was covered and a carrot was forced into his mouth. Messy...Adriel looked a bit down trodden. His apendage meant well...but ...it always ended up this way.

Duncan gave a little laugh, something rare when it came to the boy. He didn't do it to often but it was funny to him how the tentacles made such a mess out of what should be a simple act. There was a moment when he thought that it wasn't all that nice to laugh but he couldn't help it.
He looked around when the other boy requested a napkin$, spotted one, and he walked over to pick it up. He then returned to Adriel and held the cloth out to the boy or to his tentacles, whichever got to it first, "Here." He offered.

Adriel chewed on the carrot in his mouth patiently, swallowed and then went on to accept the napkin from Duncan. He had been surprised to hear Duncan laugh...he wasn't sure if he had every heard him laugh before.
Wiping the mess off his face first he looked down at his rather messy shirt and sighed.
"Ah you may not want to get to close to me...you might end up apart of the mess." He cautioned as the appendages were already on the search for another dippable item to eat.
"Um...did you want to go to my room?" He asked sounding shy again. He wanted to play with Duncan he enjoyed his last visit even if it did result him in tears.
