Jade looked around hopelessly as he walked, feeling a sinking in his stomach overcome him when he realized all the walls looked exactly the same. He didn't like navigating the Labyrinth at all, it always ended in him being lost for a day or so. What was he going to do? He drew out another sigh and stopped, turquoise gaze looking around the t-junction pathway he had stopped at. Each seemed so long they never ended, he was lost.

"Darn..." He muttered, wondering how he was going to get to the castle now he was hopelessly lost. He should have invited Calentze or Galbriel along to help him navigate, but nooooo, he had to go and try to prove himself by getting here all by himself. Dammit, he never thought things through! Jade leaned against the wall, glumly looking at the ground as he thought of a way to get out of this mess. Even if he flew up, the Labyrinth shifted so much it would be useless to try and see how to get out of here.

"Nnnn..." An irritated sound escaped him when he felt his stomach growl, reaching into a hidden pocket on his floaty dress to draw out an apple he had carried along, taking a bite. At least he had this, his feet ached though.

Behind the lost traveler, a Djinn appeared sitting upon the wall. His name was Derrik and he resided with in the labyrinth, rarely taking leave. He watched the fairy boy get confused frustrated, and apparently hungry. As far as anyone knew, the Djinn had appeared to dwell here for as long as the walls had been put up.

He was a mysterious fellow, slipping around, to and fro. Appearing here and there. Helping and causing mischief. But usually it was a bit of the two combined in one.

"You look lost. Hopelessly lost. Maybe you should just give up? Or maybe turn the way you came? Or perhaps if you stand perfectly still the entrance will come to you!" Derrik laughed at the fairy. He didn't like fairies. He didn't like anything with beauty that could compare to his. He hating fighting for attention. He liked to be seen and heard when he desired.

Jade finished the apple, licking the natural sugar from his lips and fingers. He dropped the core, knowing a random goblin or whatever else resided in this Labyrinth would most likely eat it. He looked around hopelessly once more, before jumping in fright at the voice that sounded from behind him..or rather, above him. He spun around as he pushed away from the wall, glancing up at the creature perched there.

"Lost? Yes I am lost. Turning back is like carving a new path, this place shifts its walls around like a giant, coiled snake of stone." Jade answered, wondering why this creature seemed to take amusement from him being lost. "Standing still is useless." He answered finally, observing the other male. "I havent met anyone like you before, are you a demon?" He asked curiously, grimacing when his fingers still felt sticky, thus causing him to try and lick any sugar residue off of them again. He loved apples, just not the mess they made.

"It really is something to assume one is a demon right away. I find it offensive. Do I really truly look evil to you? But then again, I shouldn't let some boy who can't even eat an apple with an ounce of dignity pull me by the tail." He dropped off the ledge he was sitting on, and became a puff of smoke that blew around the fairy, and then solidified before him.

"Here, let me help you." He grabbed the fairies hand and started to bring a finger to his mouth, started to slowly and gently lick it. "Hmm, that was a ripe apple wasn't it."

Jade bristled a little, his wings spreading out a little more when the other spoke, calling him a mere boy. He was not a mere boy! He was an adult who could think for himself, even if said thinking was rather disastrous at points. He made a small startled sound as the smoke enveloped him, truly believing he was surrounded by fire for just a moment. He quickly swiped at his clothing, bunching in on himself a little when the smoke cleared and the Djnn stood before him.

"T-That...whaa..?" He was caught off guard by the unpredicatability of the situation, a blush spreading across his cheeks at the feel of the Djnn's tongue against his fingertips. "H-Hey!" He said in a startled voice, trying to drag his hand away. "So bold...!" He murmured, lost for anything else to say. You don't just go around licking someone's hand before even learning their name.

Derrik smiled and stared at the fairies wings. He had seen many fairies. He had seen many beauties, but each one was different and unique. It was why he loved sitting in the labyrinth, other than the few encounters the shifting maze had given him with the bog of eternal stench.

"My dear boy. It is boldness that gets one ahead in life. If I was not so bold as to help you in your time of need." He grabbed Jades hand again, and licked another of his sticky fingers. "You would be wondering around aimlessly, soiling your lovely garments with the succulent juices from the very fruit you yourself enjoyed."

He stuck another of fingers in his mouth, and started up at the fairy with his brown eyes sparkling. It was as if he was tenderly enjoying a meal, and just like that he was done. He gave Jade his hand back and smiled. "When wondering the labyrinth, its best to desert any signs of food. Whether discarded rines, or the sticky traces left on finger or..." Derrik gave an obvious glance at the fairies mouth.

"So, we should move, before you garbage attracts some of the less tasteful residents." He interlaced his fingers in the fairies hand, and pulled him along forward. He walked down a section, turned, turned, and then they were in a clearing. A lovely section of the labyrinth that was very much like a garden with a dried up fountain in the middle. The shrubs all around brown and dried. "Such a lovely garden." Derrik let go of Jade's hand.

There were only a few times in Jade's life so far that he had been struck silent. This was one of those times. He stared at Derrik, confusion glittering across his face at the other. Was he really so concerned about strangers? No, he sensed the teasing tone and saw it in his eyes. The Butterfly Prince found himself silently trying to suss out just who and what this man was.

"Time of need...? My own mouth was helping me with that!" Jade declared, his blush darkening at how utterly foolish his words sounded. This was just something he wasn't used to. Especially when his hand was grabbed again and the other continued to lick his fingers. He looked away at that point, uncomfortable. "It...wasn't that bad, they were just sticky..." He murmured, finally calming down and speaking normally, apparantly realising that protesting got him next to nowhere with this one.

He did make a surprised sound as his finger was taken into the male's mouth, wiggling his arm a little in silent protest. This was too...well...weird! This one obviously had no need for personal space. Jade hid his hands in his long sleeves when the other was done, hiding them behind his back incase the other decided to grab them again. "Oh..." Jade murmured in reply to the food traces comment, instinctively licking his lips clean.

"It's not garbage! it's just an apple core" Jade protested as Derrik grabbed his hand and tugged him along. He followed, making no move to escape as this one seemed to know his way. He stopped, looking aroudnt he garden when they entered with a small smile. Gardens...this was more like it! He walked in, glancing at the shrubbery and stonework. "Yes..it is." He agreed.

Derrik smiled and started to walk around slightly. He did in fact know his way around. He wasn't sure what it was that guided him around the ever changing maze, but he could navigate well enough. He turned to look at the other. "An apple core is indeed garbage to those of..." He eyed the other up and down before settling on a statement. "Our caliber."

He walked over to a broken bench and sat down. "After all, what use do we have of an apple core? We surely wouldn't eat. Well I can't speak for you, but based upon your appearance I would guess that you don't eat them." He smiled again and brought a leg over the other and leaned in on it.

He looked around at the dried up garden. He had remembered when the are was lush and green. He used to hang out here with several of the locals. Causing mayhem and help them to enjoy the scenery. But know it was dried up, just like the many years he had spent here, alone.

"Well... What causes a pretty face like yours to get lost in such a place as this?"

Jade knelt down, picking up a crumbling leaf to inspect him. Through his perspective, this garden had mountains of potential. But it was dead and gone, it was a shame really. He placed the leaf back down on the ground and looked at Derrik. He was right he supposed, an apple core was useless to them.

"I guess so, but that's why I left it there. Goblins eat anything." Jade answered, straightening back up with a soft sigh of content. He walked over to Derrik, leaning against a crumbling pot opposite the bench. The thing was moldy and dead, it would break with the weight of another person from the looks of it. "I wouldn't eat an apple core, that's disgusting." Jade said, wrinkling his nose a little in distaste. He sat on the large pot, smoothing the skirts of his dress over his legs.

"uh.." Jade looked up when the short silence broke, having just watched Derrik look around before he started rummaging through the hidden pockets for anything of use to him. He found a small bag of mini-cookies. But that was it. "I wanted to visit the kingdom and got lost, that's basically it." He answered, putting the bag back in his pocket. "I guess you live here."

Derrik watched as the fairy investigated the area. Derrik showed a small sign of sadness as though the fairies inspections solidified the death of the garden. "If it means nothing to you, why did you defend it so?" It had truly puzzled the Djinn.

"Ah, the bushes here used to be splendid back in the day. People used to get lost here for more reasons than just loosing their way. They used to lose their train of thought admiring the beauty of the foliage here. It used to be lovely."

He shrugged and watched the Fairy fumble in the folds of his skirt, and hands into pocket to find things he wanted. "I assume your fell prey to the walls. How they all look the same. You know, a quick secret. When navigating a labyrinth, you don't always move towards your destination. Sometimes you have to walk away to walk to your goal." He smiled again.

"I guess you could say I live here. I live here and there, and everywhere. Im a free spirit. Move where ever the end takes me, and it allows me to meet the most interesting of people, such as your self."

"We have waited long enough, I do believe introduction are in order now. My name is Derrik, and yes... I am a demon of sorts. I am a Djinn, perhaps your very ticket out of here. But only if you truly trust me. But if you have done your homework, you will know that is something you never do with the likes of me."

Jade looked up, shrugging idly to the question Derrik gave him. He didn't know. Maybe it was because he had seen the surface world and their garbage, causing this to be nothing in comparison. An apple core would likely not kill anyone, while most of the stuff up their did. "I don't know." He answered softly, one finger idly rubbing over a small ivy leaf that twined around the rim of the pot he sat on.

"I can tell, they'd restore once again. With a little help." Jade said, looking around the derelict garden once again with a hint of sadness. He loved flowers, seeing a garden in this state was a little upsetting. Jade held out his hand, a cookie in it to the Djinn, silently offering one. "So you dont decide to attack my hands again." He said with a soft smile. If this one lived here, then food was probably not spectacular. But then, what did Jade know? He was a simple spectator.

"Yes...I guess we did forget that. My name Is Jade, I'm a butterfly. Nothing as exotic as your species though." He introduced himself, blinking. Something that he shouldnt do with a Djinn? Uh...? He knew he'd been told, it was just not in his head right now. "I seem to recall being told...I think.." He mumbled.

Derrik took the cookie, mostly out of courtesy as he was not hungry. He nibbled on it, and found it to be good more so than not. "Well I could fix this garden up, just my abilities are bound to a few words, that no one ever speaks around me. But I don't blame them at all. I wouldn't trust me either."

Smiling, Derrik gave a nod to the man he know knew the name of. "Well Jade, its nice to meet you. I have seen many of your kind, none quiet as radiant as yourself though." He stood up and walked to a barren tree, that looked like nothing more than stick in a pot.

Derrik gave it a soft kick, which called the pot to crumble and spill over the ground. Derrik blushed. "The labyrinth really needs to have some work done to it. Its falling apart. Why just the other day I was walking, following the most peculiar creature. She was very fascinating, but as I followed, the very ground beneath my feet crumbled, and I found my self in a oblyete. I really hate them things. They are so dark and dreary. A place to keep things till you forget about them. Oh well, I can move about when and how I feel like it, so I was gone from it in no time."

Jade smiled when Derrik took the cookie, sitting back down on the pot, only to feel it start to crumble. He got up, panicking when a few pieces shifted, but stayed in place. "Is that the thing I should never do? Trust you?" Jade asked curiously, walking over to stand near Derrik, incase the pot collapsed. He blushed softly, fidgetting yet again. "And you have a knack for making me feel embarrassed, Derrik." He replied, trying to shake off his embarrassment.

Jade followed Derrik, giggling a little when the other broke a pot and blushed. Well, that was a first! "Yes, I can see. But if you take away all this barrenness...it takes away part of it's splender. Maybe strengthen the rocks, but don't make it immaculate." Jade commented, stooping down to right the tree that had fallen from the broken pot.

"Yes, trust. Its something Djnn take for granted. We are never trusted. We will do what we will. Make a laugh out of you. You may think that we are helping you, but in the end, its not. Its nothing more than a game, my dear. We play with hearts, toy with them. Release them. Reel them in. Play with them, and the body of their own. Release. And for some reason, you keep coming back." As he spoke he had come close and closer to fairy, and he was now standing close.

The breathe from Jade was warm on his cheek. He could feel the embarrassment he was causing on the others demeanor. He enjoyed it. Whispering Derrik replied once more. "Its what I live to do, you see. I am here to be a paradox of the heart. To confuse you, to take you as mine. To make you feel embarrassed by my actions. These are all my tools. And my many years are what have strengthened them."

Jade stood still, staring at Derrik as the other spoke. He felt a little unnerved by now, but his feet stayed firmly planted to the ground. He needed to start standing his ground and being braver, instead of kicking and screaming about the injustice and horror of everything. "I...see..." He murmured, glad he had hit the nail on the head. He supposed he was comfortable around Derrik. Not trust yet was it? He didn't know.

He stood still, staring up at Derrik when the other came close, unsure of what to say now. Derrik had just said he wasn't trustworthy and that he'd most likely use him if what he understood was correct. The blush was still there, so he directed his gaze down to try and concentrate on the ground. "It's all a game then, people are like the pieces of your game."
