Kyle Chopped and Screwwed
I've been playing guitar since November officially. I have learn the easiest form for the major, minor, pentonic major, pentonic minor, and blues scale. I know most open chords and how to play power chords, and how to play a major and minor barre chord (but i really suck at them). Im currently learning F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X. (my first song!) and it's going ok, and for learning it for 2 weeks i think it's come a long way. Making up solos and melodies are not nearly as difficult for me as they once were in the beginning too. I cant really tremelo pick or alternative (is that the world for up and down) pick.
*gasp*
All that is leading up to what should i do now? Should i work on technique? Get the barre chords down? Just keep learning songs? Just try to make up more s**t on scales? I've hit a wall sorta, and i need to find a door to progress. And if you can help me by monday that would be sweet
sweatdrop .
Basically, just practice technique, everything you know, you can still become MUCH cleaner and faster, it might help to learn some modes and such, learning the different methods of picking is a pain, but there are some decent videos on youtube that may help with that.
what I would do to help tremelo and alternate pick would be
looking up some metal songs, slayer is a good example
of "gallops" rather quick short sequences of 3 notes,
mostly on the E string, eventually you'll be able to alternate
picking up and down the strings.
biggrin Hope this helps!
