who: Aurum & Edward Elric (maybe Liliana if Ed calls her in)
what: dude! Aurum went on a date and didn't ask her parents first! & it was a blind date!
where: House in Bass'ken Woods. Let's say the library.
when: morning. The day after her date with Josh Kirkpatrick
why: ohmygosh, you mean you didn't see this coming? xp

Leaving the kitchen a female kitsu on the small side paused to stretch happily, her petite white and gold body relaxing comfortably. It had been a wonderfully delicious breakfast. Simple. Strawberries, toast, and just a little eggs. Not only that... but she was feeling good otherwise. Straightening Aurum checked her red bows then trotted to the magic door. Just the day before she had made her first friend outside of the family. It was nice to have a friend.

Although... she was feeling a little guilty for coming home so late after their 'date' of sorts. Blind date, but still a date. But she was an adult, right? It was okay for her to be out on her own. Even late.

Still... maybe she should have told her parents? Oh dear. It had all happened so quick when her cousin Wade asked her to help his friend that it had completely slipped her mind to speak to them about it. Well... what was done was done. Aurum slipped into the library for a new book. One on Alchemy today. Thank goodness for the growing Alchemy section in their library. Unfortunately she was still going to run out of books she had yet to read fairly soon. There had to be a way to get more... unless there were not more? Oh dear...

Surprisingly... or perhaps not so surprisingly... there was a kitsu draped haphazardly on a lounger in the middle of the room. He seemed to be sleeping, his head hanging a little bit off one end with his left paw draped over his stomach and the automail limply hanging off one side. Yes, it was none other than Edward Elric, Aurum's father... if the strange sleeping habits and automail were not clue enough.

His coat was absent today, likely left back in his and Lily's room. Usually when Ed slept, he was out cold and for quite some time. However, he was here for a reason... he had been waiting on Aurum as he knew she was bound to show up here sooner or later. It seems though he'd decided on a nap in the process.

When his daughter strolled in, there was silence. That is until she made her way to the alchemy books and a golden eye peeked open, looking at her upside down. You would think the blood would have rushed to his head by now.

"Where were you last night?"

It would not surprise Aurum in the slightest that her father was in the library. After all... this was the place they all came for books and as much as her father knew -and mother for that matter- he was always learning more. Not only that... but it was the perfect place to nap for it practically guaranteed peace & quiet.

Yet at the sound of her father's voice Edward's youngest jumped at least twice her height with a loud and sharp 'yip!!' of surprise. Crimson wings spread with their golden tips, displaying quite clearly the symbol of Ed's teacher on their backs even in the library's light. Landing she spun, not even going on the defensive as Ed & Zell had taught her. This was daddy.

What others might find comical -or even she might under different circumstances- Aurum did not, looking into her father's upside-down face anxiously. Only one of those golden eyes giving her that intense look of his... and still Aurum felt like a kit all over again, about to be chastised. Even in such a silly position Edward Elric was imposing when he looked at her like that. At least to Aurum. She felt her knees tremble slightly beneath her and gave a smile that seemed to take a little of that quake into itself though still warm and loving. "Ah... good morning Daddy. Did you already have breakfast?"

It was habit, natural, to ask such a question and it was out before Aurum had time to think and actually mentally respond to the one asked her. She did not intentionally skirt the question, though looking back she may have subconsciously tried to avoid it. For the time being only, for only a fool could completely forget how her father could have a single-minded determination. Even if she could distract him for a moment, he would come back to what he had asked until getting an answer. And more.

He had to hold back his smirk as he startled Aurum, instead keeping his one eyed gaze level on her. That is until she replied to his question with another of hers. Ah ha... something was definitely up.

Edward then flipped himself around to lay on his stomach. His brows creased and the corners of his mouth turned downward in a frown as he sighed. "You didn't answer my question" he pointed out, before leveling both eyes on her. Edward Elric was not easily fooled, even if he could sometimes be dense as a brick.

He simply waited for her to give an explanation, and none too patiently at that.

Her mouth formed a surprised little 'o' as it was called to her attention. "oh! Sorry!" She hadn't, had she? Whoops. "Um... I was out... making a new friend..." Aurum's head hung low nervously, her ears hanging slightly limp as her bangs nearly obscured her pinkening cheeks which her white fur did nothing to hide and her voice dropped in volume. White to gold tails curled around her paws, red wings closing around her like a blanket. "... on a blind date..."

Head still lowered, Aurum worriedly lifted green eyes to see her father's reaction. Would he be terribly upset with her? A wave of panic gripped her. Would he be mad at Josh? ohno.ohno.ohno.

Resting his chin on a proped up paw, Edward yawned lightly and inspected his automail digits, "Oh is that all..." ... 3, 2, 1 ... *eartwitch* "WHAT?!" Golden eyes were now wide and staring at his daughter in disblief. A blind date?! Did she REALLY have the same genes as he and Lilianna?! Maybe she was a mutant! How did they create such a girl!

"Buh... Aren't you a little young for that?!" Yes she was fully grown, but that didn't mean she was -mature-. 18 year olds were fully grown but hardly ready to get married and have children! Okay.. so maybe he was jumping to conclusions and still thought of her as his little girl.. but still!

"Who set you up?!" And now those golden eyes had a spark of flame within them. Oh he would give, whoever was responcible for this, a few choice words.

Relief started to wash over her... only to be replaced by a whimper as all of what she had said seemed to have dawned on her father. Aurum went to her belly, curling wings and tails around her in the face of her father's furry. Gold-tipped ears flattened unhappily. She had never intended to make Edward upset! Again she whimpered sadly, unhappiness wetting her green eyes and making them sparkle. Her voice was barely louder than a whisper, and shook slightly. "I... I'm an adult, am I not, Daddy? I didn't think..." No she really had not... "I didn't think there was anything wrong with doing it..."

She blinked, startled by the question and cowered by the flame behind her daddy's beautiful, golden eyes. oh dear...

Aurum gulped. "C-cousin Wade, Daddy. He... he asked if I could help out his friend... because he was afraid of girls. Only Josh wasn't really afraid of girls. I don't know where Cousin Wade was getting that. But he was awfully nice and he didn't know a thing about the date and oh! Daddy! I had a splendid time!" Although her voice remained soft Aurum gradually went from nearly stuttering and stumbling over her words to talking so fast by the end her words very nearly blended together. It was with frightened hope her green eyes reached for the blazing gold of her father's. oh dear... she had really done it this time. Was going on a date really this bad? It had been so nice...

((okies... rofl at Ed thinking Aurum might be a mutant... ^_^))

Edward's ears flattened a bit as he saw the beginning of tears in his daughter's eyes. Oh man... he didn't like it when Lily or his daughters cried. Crying girls always seemed to make him melt.

He sighed again, eyetwitching at the mention of Deadpool. Oh... he would kill him... but later. He may be Bryna's boytoy but that wasn't going to stop him from giving Wade a test of the Elric temper!

He couldn't stay upset at his little Aurum though and just rested his head on his paws, looking miserable. "You are an adult... but you shouldn't be" he said softly. It had just been too soon.. too fast. Why did they have to grow up so quickly? He would have rathered they taken as long as he did to grow. It just wasn't fair. He was starting to feel old now.

oh no... now Daddy was sad?!? ohno. ohno. ohno. That was almost worse than Daddy being angry. Angry was at least something Aurum attributed to her father, what with his temper. Whimpering very softly -almost inaudibly- Aurum crawled forward on her belly until she was directly in front of the lounge Edward was sitting on. Then putting her white gloved paws upon the edge she pulled herself up, tucking her slightly smaller body against her daddy's side as she nuzzled him. Aurum curled into his side then nudged gently with her head until she could get it tucked beneath her father's chin. "oh Daddy... I'm sorry..." What else could she say about growing up too fast? "You know I'm always your little girl, right?" There was a lilt of hopefulness in her sweet, soft voice. He did know, didn't he?

"I just wanted to help... and to meet other kitsu... I'm sorry, Daddy... You know I'd never want to upset you..." And he was upset, wasn't he? Her brow ridges rose & fell alternately in worry & sorrow.

His eyes were tilted downward as Aurum crawled across the floor, whimpering and then curled up beside him. There is so much of Lilianna in Aurum, he could always see it. When she spoke, Edward finally looked up at her and mustered a little smile, "Yeah.. I know."

Who knew that he would get so attached to his children. He certainly hadn't anticipated anything like this. He put his flesh paw around, knowing she hadn't meant anything by this. "Your mom and I were really worried." After all, Aurum had never disappeared for an entire night like that before. He really had been worried. Edward had paced to the point of nearly wearing grooves in the floors, barely restraining himself from going out and looking for her. Infact he probably would have had not some more sensible people held him back. Perhaps he was just a bit over protective.

He was still going to kill Deadpool though.

Still curling close Aurum's gold tipped ears fell as she learned she had caused her parents to worry. "I'm sorry, Daddy. I never intended to. I... guess I didn't think about it, in thinking there might be something I could do to help someone." For despite learning her parents' alchemy & magic Aurum felt small in her ability to actually do something. Small... yes her actual physical size never bothered her, but there was a part of the white and gold femme that wanted to feel some sense of accomplishment perhaps. She was not sure... it was difficult to pin down really. Aurum just... wanted to help others. If there was any way she possibly could.

Breathing in her father's safe and familiar scent Aurum snuggled closer. "I should have told you & Mom I was going, but Daddy... was it wrong?" There was a slight plea to her voice. She had enjoyed her 'date'... Aurum would be sad if it had been wrong.

Edward heaved a sigh, quiet for several moments. "Naw..." was his final responce. What she had done wasn't wrong... no... infact he doesn't think it was really her fault. She's just young and naive! Its that Deadpool guy who's going to get it!

He then grinned at Aurum, "But it wasn't the smartest thing to do either" he said with a little laugh. As if he was one to talk! He did stupid stuff all the time. "Oh well... atleast you had fun." She came back in one piece, but that didn't mean Deadpool was off the hook.

Her slightly smaller body gave a sigh of relief and Aurum started to smile weekly. Slowly she pulled her head out from beneath her father's to smile up at him, laying her head sideways near her paws. Her head-tilt at this angle was almost undetectable but for the questioning perk of her upturned gold-tipped ear. He said that... then laughed? "But Cousin Wade would never do anything that would let me get hurt." ...or so she believed. To which she might be right. There had been that pebble incident, that Aurum neither understood fully nor even that Deadpool had been involved. Really... her father was right in her being young & naive.

Then her tails were wagging as Aurum smiled happily and a soft faint purr vibrated her body as she snuggled closer to her father's warmth and love. "I did have fun." She giggled softly hiding her face in her long bangs. She would not mind doing that again. Seeing Josh, or meeting someone else new. It certainly was easier, having a blind date rather than going out and meeting someone on her own. Aurum was not exactly shy... but she had a little trepidation about randomly going out and meeting random kitsu. In that thinking... it was much safer for her to meet those others had her meet. So... friends and family introducing her to their friends seemed to Aurum the safest thing, right? It was a simple put perhaps odd logic.

Edward frowned a little bit, thinking that Aurum trusted people far too easily. She could get herself in trouble one of these days. He didn't even know Wade, and thus didn't trust him with appointing people to date HIS daughter.

"You can't trust everyone you meet Aurum... even those closest to you are capable of doing harm. You really should be more careful." Now his tone was serious and even carried a note of bitterness. He didn't want her to go through some of the same crap that he had.

Aurum saddened, her ears dipping ever so slightly once more. "Even those closest...?" She studied her father gently. Who was closer to her than her family? How could they hurt her? Why would they hurt her? "But Daddy... how should I be more careful? How can we live... without trusting?"
