Moray had been restless since Nadra left. Her last words rang in her ears. Haunting her dreams was Nadra-telling her goodbye... leaving her already. As a cub-Moray had been attached to Nadra for some no real reason other than they shared colors.. but now that Moray had grown-and remembered Nadra-she was begining to think otherwise...

Moray had taken to resting away from everyone else now-her thoughts deep on following Nadra... on being with one who was as white as she. She sighed, blinking her purple eyes. She didn't know what to do. It was as if Moray and her cousin Mawu had changed personalities. Mawu-who had been sullen and quiet-was now outspoken and happy... and now Moray was miserable.

She lay down, her paws tucked under her chest. She blinked, lowering her eyes. Today, instead of studying the bright sky she loved-she was intent on seeing dirt. She was restless-she knew what she had to do-and she'd have to do it quickly. Nadra had left weeks ago... if she had any hope of finding her-she'd have to leave soon...

Gurami lay as usual at the mouth of the den that she and Banda shared, her pale eyes were closed to the world, her mind on other things, other places, other times perhaps, she didn't even hear the approach of her palest of daughters. Yawning she flashed teeth of palest white, it was only then that she opened those lilac eyes to view the world around her.

She felt tired these days, her cubs grew older by the day and already it seemed like they must flourish and leave the proverbial nest before she wanted them to. Guppi was already distancing himself from his family, unwilling, or perhaps unable to accept that he had to take his place in the pride, as did his brother, and Moray, well she seemed to be very dreamy of late like she was lost.

She knew she must speak to her cubs and help them with their ills, she just wans't entirely sure how to go about it.

Moray was tempted to seek out her mother and frantically figure out what to do... she didn't understand her feelings or Nadra's. With a moments notice, she stood and headed to where her Mother and Father had made their den... hoping that her mother was there. She gazed straight at he ground as she walked, blinking slowly. She was adding things up.

Did she love Nadra?

She sighed, spotting her Mother outside the cave entrance. "Mom..." She said with a smile, though it contained a bit of sadness-as she padded up to greet her mother and give her an affectionate nudge.

Soft lilac eyes opened at the voice of her daughter and she smiled, her lips turning in a cheerful puurr which rolld off the mouth of the den she and Banda shared.

Giving Moray a gentle lick to her cheek as a small kiss the lemon yellow female crossed her forepaws and looked at her daughter. There it was again, that far away gaze, that look of worry of question. "Is something wrong Moray?" She whispers tilting her head to catch her daughters gaze.

Moray sighed and looked away from her Mother. Not sure how to start the converstation. She looked down at her paws, envious of her Mother-for she was a beautiful thing-so yellow and pure and she was cubs and... she loved... Moray was envious of her Mother and Father.... they had eachother and She-had no one now... Nadra was gone. She sighed, looking up at her Mom. She'd start the topic off slowly.

"Mother... you love Father don't you?" She asked, blinking her purple eyes slowly." Like-you love him and want to be with him alot right? I know here In our Pride-girls like girls alot right!? Well... I think I like a girl..." She started, looking at her feet. How to tell her mother that she was in love with an Adult.

Gurami tilted her head curiously. What was going on here? She smiled a small puurr echoeing from her chest. "Come now Moray, there is no need to be shy my love. You can tell me anything." She raises a slim brow her pale lilac eyes shimmering softly.

The pale yellow lioness looked around as her daughter mentioned her father and she smiled weakly. She always had to check for admitting such a thing while in public was really not very wise. "You know I do my sweet, but you must be quiet about it, it breaks my heart but it is not the way of the pride you know that. Now, speak to me and tell me your ills my love."

Moray felt her heart swell in her chest. Her mother was always so warm and comforting. She lifted her pale head to look at her mother in the eye. "I love someone Mom. I don't know how she feels about me though... and the worst part Mother... is that she left the other day. I tried to ignore it... I tried to tell myself it wasn't right cause she is your Age Mom...

But... I think I really love her. I want to follow her." She said, looking down and making little snuffling noises. She was so sad to have to tell this to her mother. It hurt... wanting to leave home but wanting to stay. She couldn't understand her feelings. She couldn't bear to have Nadra leave and not know. She couldn't do it. "I... I feel so heartbroken Mom..."

Gurami smiled at her daughter. She understood the feeling and she knew there was only one thing to do. She reached out a paw and lifted ehr daughters head, she smiled softly gazing in to those plale orbs. "Then go my love, you cannot stay in a place wheer your heart doesn't belong." She purrred and groomed her daughters cheek gently.

"Just promise me you will come back and see us some day, let me know you are okay. The world is a very differnt place out there so just be careful okay?" She smiled softly her pale lilac eyes shimmering saddly, she knew she had to let her daughter go, even if it meant letting her leave the pride to find her true love. It was the best and only thing she could do for her, to set her free.

Moray looked up at her beautiful mother with a grin... one of pure happiness and joy. Oh, her mother understood-she knew what she meant. She as so happy, her purple eyes lighting up as she bounded around her Mom. "Oh Mother... you understand perfectly... I wanted to come and ask-er... question about it-but... you knew what I was going to say... Oh Mom! OH MOM! " She sprang upon her mother, covering her with kisses.

"I promise. I promise on the very white of my fur Mom! May I be cursed with blackness! Oh, Mother..." She said, looking up at her with a rather happy-sad smile. She reached up and kissed her mothers nose... "I promise mom. I make a promise now-" She paused, looking down at the ground and grabbing a rather bright blue and red rock. "-I promise on this pebble mom. When I come home-I will bring this back to you! I promise mom!" She said, picking up the stone in her mouth. She then, before she could change her mind on leaving, started towards the end of the jungle where she knew she could not return for a long time... only to see her mother.

Once Morays back was turned upon her, Gurami let tears flow down her cheeks. it was the last thing in the world she wanetd to see her daughter leave her, but she knew she could not ask her to stay.

She remaiend int he same possition for a long time, her pale, lilac eyes gazing out after her palest fo daughters until she vanished in to the undergrowth. "Good bye my love" she muurrs, a sad smile forming on her maw.

Who knew when she would see her again, but at least she knew, or thought she knew, Moray would be happy.
