Click to show.A rumbling darkness had made its way slowly at first across the clear, if somewhat greyed skies, bringing with it a thick, smothering heat that had been more than enough to stoke his growing irritation. His recent hunt had gone poorly, a bloody mess left on the rocky earth beneath his hooves marking where he had made a small and unsatisfactory kill. Hunger continued to rumble deep in his belly, but it had reluctantly accepted the scawny rabbit for now--at least until he could find something better.

The stallion shifted faintly and lapped at his bloodied chops before he bore his stained fangs in a silent snarl at the thickening clouds that had swallowed all of the light. Sanguine eyes glittered as though in challenge before the heavens themselves relented and split, sending icy rains to drown the world below. They were carried on the breath of howling winds that cruelly whipped and soaked his glittering black hide, falling on broad shoulders and further matting the stringy crimson of his long mane. Nemesis snarled outloud this time, the sound low and aggressive while playful winds tugged at his wings, trying to snap them open. He was having none of it.

It would be foolish to try and fly in this mess. A bolt of lightning roared silently across the sky while the thunder crashed after it, like some mocking echo. The Kalona male's mood continued to plummet as he silently shifted forward, blackened lips curled back to bare his fangs. How stupid it was, being caught out in the rain...

The firey, black stallion too had been caught out in the rain. Although he was just now returning to his home once the clouds had split apart and the cold rain plummeted to the earth. Another good kill. But of course--he knew where all the good hunting grounds were.

He drew his wings tightly around him. Not one for the cold....or anything wet to that fact. Though he knew of at least one who might of been out during this time. He must rather preferred to be in his mountainous home. Where it was nice and dry.

Water droplets rippled off his body as his muscles slid beneath the cracked skin. The ever burning whip around his neck which would of seared into any one else's flesh snapped and popped as water pelted it. Hissing in an almost urgency for him to move faster lest it be put out.

But Valarauco knew better. It had nothing to fear.

As he traveled at a swift walk towards home, the scent of fresh blood was caught on a harsh breeze. Snapping his head in its direction a curious eyebrow raised. "Hmmm..." His eyes narrowed as he pondered this. Whoever had spilt this blood had done so not too far away from his own territory.

And this raised a bit of curiosity in the Kalona's mind. Nostrils flared as he tried to scent any other smells. Something more in the likes of another Soquili. The only other kinds that would spill blood were Skinwalkers and other Kalona. And he knew it was not Zulimar. No. Not soon after she would have probably made herself known to him, but no one came. She did like to frequent his area after all.

No. This was someone knew. And he was going to see just exactly who it was.

Another bolt of lightning ripped through the sky, just like his teeth ached to wet themselves on something more substantional. Soon, soon. Something would undoubtedly be flushed out by this mess, be it an animal or another Soquili--he wasn't too picky. A sharp crackle caught his attention, ears swiveling to pinpoint the source while he paused, drawing himself powerfully upright to face this potential threat. He was a big male, with the strength and aggression to assert himself in almost any situation.... and now just wasn't the time to piss him off.

His narrowed eyes slowly tracked the dark demon that rippled forth out of the rain, great gouts of steam wafting from his body that coursed with molten veins. Nemesis could value the impressive display, but for now, took it at face value. His thick neck arched itself slowly, bony wings of red-ribbed flesh still held tightly against his muscular body to keep them from snapping open while his spaded tail began to flick in slow, menacing strides. His bad-temper was making itself known, but he'd never been one hide his feelings.

Taciturn as always, the glittering beast openly eyed the stranger, protesting not to his approach though making one thing quite clear--the other could pass on without a word, or he could try to engage in conversation and tread carefully. As another Kalona (though lately, that title seemed almost worthless from all the filth that sullied it), Nemesis was at least convinced enough to not make a meal of him. From the looks of it, he wasn't enjoying the rain any better... a grudging similarity, then.

Valarauco did not try and hide his presence. Oh no. He made sure whoever it was full well that he was coming. Not one to take precaution when it came to snooping out who was around.

His red eyes quickly settled on a black figure. Long, red hair catching his eye for only a second before he gave the stranger a quick sizing up. Now in the past, the stallion was no quick to judge on weither or not one was a true, blue Kalona. But with the recent conversation topic he had had with Zulimar, he was a bit more on his toes about it. Too much filth ran through some Kalona's blood lines now a days. Too many were so mixed.

Though you could usually tell who was and who wasn't just by their looks. You never knew who would of snuck through the cracks.

The electricity in the air was strong. Not just from the storm, but he could feel it rippling off the other. As well as himself. There were few he could stomach the company for. The way this stranger held himself seemed like that of one who was pure blood.

But then again one could not be too sure.

Cloven hoofs settled heavily into the moist earth as he stopped a mere couple yards. He didn't keep the distance because he was wary, no. You just never knew how others might react. He had learned that quite quickly around Zuli. Though he quickly cleared his mind of her. His focus now was on this one.

"Greetings..." He rumbled. Wings tightening around himself as a violent gust of wind beat against his body. Eyes quickly shifting down to the meager meal it seemed this one had been--enjoying. Though it didn't look quite appetizing to him in all honesty.

He tossed his horned head without thinking as he felt himself being sized up, dull, sopping locks of red slapping wetly against the side of his neck. The other carried himself like a full-blood, this much was true... but if true Kalona could be lowered to such levels, then halfbloods would have little difficulty playing themselves off as something better.

The tension was thick as the burning monstrosity slowed, close enough that Nemesis could scent his strange, sulfuric scent. He barely caught the rumbling note over the sound of the storm, though, slowly, his soft lips fell across his teeth to shield them. "You don't look like one who'd enjoy being out in the rain." He said gruffly, nodding curtly in way of greeting.

When the other's eyes slid to the pitiful remnants of his meal, the male rumbled irritably to himself. "Storm scared off the best picks." It rankled with him more than it should have--he was no common scavanger, scrounging up whatever he could find! Perhaps that's why he hadn't wasted a lot of energy on hunting. He'd wanted a quick bite, and found out all too soon that that would be the only bite he'd get, at least for now.

His gaze soon returned to the face of the red and black stranger. A quick eyebrow raising at his first comment. "I only know a few who would. I, myself, prefer the heat inside the mountains during times like this." Valarauco's head lifted slightly as he gave a quick glance to the dark clouds and lightening that flashed up above. "Perhaps I should of picked another time to go out hunting."

Moving his wings closer against his body, he lowered his gaze back down but not at the stranger. More or less off into the distance where his home lay nestled within the rocks of the higher mountains that were warm from absorbing the heat from the sun. But soon enough his eyes returned to the company at hand. Giving him another quick look over, the image of this perhaps fellow stallion burning itself into his memory for later times.

"Perhaps if you knew where to look you'd find something better than just a skinny, half grown rabbit." He motioned with his head back in the direction he had come. "You can find something better to eat in that direction amongst that clutter of trees. Enclosed areas are better places to hunt during storms. Though the risk of lightening is greater, most animals look to very covered places for shelter. Which makes it easier to pick them off since at the time their more worried about getting out of the rain." The Kalona wasn't above giving hunting advice to others. It wasn't one of the places he regularily hunted so it didn't matter to him weither or not someone else hunted there as well.

A heavy snort from his nostrils produced a warm and visible breath to rise from them. "By and by, might I know your name? I don't believe I've ever met you before. Though it seems rather rare that I see one of my own kind now a days...at least pure ones anyways."

A wordless rumble of acknowledgement drifted from the male while the rain continued to pool from the sides of his glimmering neck and body. With his mane little more than a dull, dripping sheet, stringy locks suspended in the air, Nemesis knew he looked foolish indeed. No matter. He'd come here to hunt, and as long as his damn mane didn't make to hinder him, he'd ignore it. The mention of hunting made him glance, and he might have acted a bit more aggressively had it not been raining. The cold water made him feel sluggish, and doused his raging temper to mild pricks of irritation.

Most mountains, he knew, were freezing unless active--and from the molten appearance of this other, Nemesis didn't find that hard to believe. "This yours?" He grunted a little, referring to the surrounding territory. If he'd intrudered, well... his current mindset was something like 'tough s**t'. It was raining, he was still hungry, and honestly not in the mood to make ammends. He still held himself upright and proud, though the tension in his arched neck faded when the stallion gave him hunting advice. Didn't mind then, did he?

"I'll keep that in mind." Nemesis grated quietly, still too focused on the wet to feel any sort of resentment that the other was helping him out. He'd never ventured out for a hunt during the thick of a storm, after all. "Nemesis." He offered without hesitation before trailing his baleful gaze across the other's steaming hide. "...Our numbers have dwindled by mixing with filthy blood." The growl trembled low and deep within his chest while his bloodied teeth ground against one another to express his displeasure. "You are?" He finally questioned once his temper flared out and went dormant once more.

"Heh, no. But you might never know who's territory you'd be walking through." Valarauco did not care much for other's territory. He liked to go as he pleased, whether they liked it or not. And most didn't. But that was another matter. His own territory seemed to lie in the forsts near the mountains. Though there never were any definitive lines. It seemed to change constantly.

By now the stallion had blocked out the elements. His own body knew how to keep him warm as water rolled off his back and sides. Though strangly enough his mane still whipped around in the air. Like an eternal flame that refused to be extinguished.

He knew much about numbers dwindling with filthy, impure blood. The stallion had delt much with it over the time he spent in these lands. "That'll change soon enough...." The stallion rumbled. The comment had drawn his thoughts back to Zulimar for a second. He would have to find her sometime soon. Shifting the weight on his cloven hooves, his mind snapped back to the here and now. For some reason he often drifted off like that every now and then. When things reminded him of things that he needed to do. "Valarauco."
