Cole had finally escaped from Cassi’s grasp. She had been a bit overbearing lately, taking him to different café’s and stores where she would then proceed to ignore him and flirt with all the guys. Cassi had been distracted by something; Cole hadn’t bothered to take notice. Cole looked around for a place where he could escape the sun. While there was a cool breeze coming from the north, the sun, much like Cassi, was overpowering him. He wandered over to the play structure and climbed up to the highest tower. He always enjoyed looking on things from high, just simply observing. He watched as all the other kids ran around, making noise, screaming and laughing. But rather than join in, he sat in the shade of his tower.
He played with the holes that were in the mesh that made up the great metal structure, all the while thinking about what piece of jewelry he was going to ‘borrow’ from Cassi today.
Meanwhile, Cassi was on the other side of the park, looking for Cole and getting, surprisingly, frantic.

Tynan walked into the park easily. He brushed off some lint from his 'outdoor' clothes. They were nice, if a bit stiff with newness, jeans and a comfortable shirt. The polo shirt looked well on the ever formal Tynan, though the jeans seemed misplaced, especially since he wasn't wearing tennis shoes but loafers. His hand though was wrapped around Kaydence's hand softly, holding her close as his eyes looked around the park. It seemed normal, and safe, enough. He didn't like the thought of his little girl being in a dangerous place. Still this seemed nice and it was easy to keep an eye on her.
"Okay Honey, you want me to play with you?" Tynan asked, looking down to Kaydence. They gotten new clothes since he found her. Now she had a simple skirt, and t-shirt on, the skirt fell down past her knees but gave her plenty of room to run in. Her pink tennis shoes and white socks were cute and made Kaydence smile when they got them in the store. The only extravagance Kaydence ask for (and then not even that much) was the fingerless gloves. Taynan quickly realized that Kay didn't like showing off her 'brithmarks' and he got her plenty of different types of fingerless gloves for her to wear. Today's were pink, to go with her shirt and shoes. There was nothing Tynan could do to hide the scars under her eyes though.
"You don't have to Daddy." Kaydence chimed, her free hand wraped around the flute she refused to let go. Her silver hair, now trimed and well matained was pulled back by a simple white ribbion. Her wide gold eyes looked around. Tynan bought her almost everything but there was one thing money couldn't buy.
Friends.
And Kaydence wanted to find some friends.
"I'm going to go play on the playstructure Daddy." Kaydence assured him, smiling up at her guardian. "I love you." With a quick hug Kaydence turned to run into the fray of playing children, leaving Tynan alone.
She moved though the kids, a little shy and not sure what to do. She walked up the play structure, going to the top. She wanted someone to come talk to her, she just didn't know how to invite them too. She let out a small sigh as she reached the top looking around and then paused. Did she know that boy? The one sitting in the shadows?
The gold and silver child moved closer, glancing at the boy with long side glances, wanting to give him plenty of a chance to reconize her. After all she didn't want to bother him if it wasn't the guy she thought it was.
Tynan on the other hand decided to walk around a bit, until he could find a good bench. Then at least he could work with research or something. He wanted to give Kaydence plenty of time to play around. She deserved to make some good friends.

“Cole! Cole! Where the hell are you? Cole?” Cassi went running around the park, looking for her lost child. She almost broke her ankles three times, which is a low number when considering she was wearing 4 inch black stiletto heels paired with a tight black leather skirt that left little to the imagination. The wind was whipping her blonde hair into her face, hindering her vision.
After running around for a good ten minutes, she became exhausted. She sat down at the nearest bench, as she caught her breath. “Damn, I really need to start working out or something, I wonder if there’s a gym nearby.” She muttered to herself while leaning down to take of her heels and give her perfectly pedicured feet some air. When she sat up, she noticed a vaguely familiar face.
“Do I know you?” She sweetly purred at the man, cocking her head to the side in a flirtatious manner. Despite her earlier distress over Cole, it didn’t stop her from being herself. She stared at him inquisitively, her eyes big, and her eyelashes fluttering every couple seconds.
While Cassi was shamelessly flirting with yet another man, Cole remained in his high tower. At first he paid no attention to Kaydence, it was only until he saw the glint from her silver flute that he became interested. Shiny things in general always grabbed his attention, but pair that with a musical instrument and he was hooked.
Cole stood up and brushed off some unseen dust off his black coat. “You were at my house.” Cole called out to Kaydence. “You’re flute is very shiny.” He walked down from the top of his tall tower to be on the same level as Kaydence.
“Mother won’t let me bring my violin out in public. Says it makes me look stupid.” He grumbled playing with the worn out sleeves of his coat. Cassi had tried countless times to get him to wear something else, but he refused every time. He still preferred his simple grey pants and plain white shirt. His features were back into the scowl that he normally wears at the thought of Cassi making him leave his precious violin behind.
“My name’s Cole, what is your name?” He said in a very forced formal manner as if he was reciting something that some one had trained him to say. He was half rolling his eyes while he pronounced each syllable slowly.

Tynan turned when he heard a woman calling out. He truly was a gentleman. Manners from his upbringing, combined with his generally good nature made him eager to help those in distress. A very male part of him liked helping women in distress, sadly that part of him was no help when he actually was facing a woman. Especially a woman who so blanetly showed off the goods, so to speak. He couldn't help but stare, only his highest of upbringings kept his chin up and tounge in.
She went beyond beauty, beyond sex appeal, at least to Tynan, who missed out on prom night because he acidently started talking about birth control. Kind of killed the mood, mostly because that lead him to blable on about STDs, and then kids, and well it was all down hill from there. Tynan's face still burned at the thought of what a fool he was with girls. One would think he'd be a great catch, rich, good looking enough, kind, but he really didn't do well with women at all.
And that didn't become anymore clearer than when she actually spoke to him. Tynan gulped and looked around, then blushed deeply before he glanced around again. Oh no, she was talking to him. He was hoping he could stay in the background and just happily admire. Now he'd have to make up conversation and attempt at being witty. Oh boy....
"Uh...well...that is to say...um?" he stammered out, blushing deeply as he looked to the ground. He was horrible at this. He rubbed the back of his head and gave her a sheepish smile. "I-I-I-I believe...uh...well...you were....maybe...um?" He wasn't getting any better at this, he better just stop talking all together.
As Tynan quickly made an a** out of himself Kaydence lingered a little close Cole, and quickly smiled when he spoke to her. She turned brightly to him and listened intently. Kaydence was a real good listener. She took it all in and clung to her flute tighter at the thought of having to leave it anywhere.
"Thank you." she said first, giving a little cursty, for the compliment to her flute. Which to Kaydence meant far more than a compliment to her looks. "I think you'd look nice with a violin but maybe your mom doesn't want it to get hurt, you know with all these kids running around someone might acidently break it." Kaydence pointed out, holding her flute to her tighter at the thought. A boy ran by real quick as she did so and she let out a soft sound of relief. She didn't want to loose her flute.
"Oh! I'm Kaydence, it's a pleasure to make your aquatience." she recited back, giving another cursty as she did so. She wondered if she should offer her hand, at the party at Grandmother's Grandmother offered her hand. She then glanced at Cole and decided he wouldn't be the type to grab and kiss and then she'd look awkward and that be embaressing.
"I don't think you look stupid." she told him quietly, shifting her hands over her flute slowly. It was a sign of nerves but Kaydence could be a little shy and Cole was a bit intimidating, mostly just because he looked so annoyed.

A slow smile crept onto Cassi’s porcelain features as she watched the man in front of her stumble his own tongue. The was nothing more enjoyable to Cassi than making a man look like an a** in front of her, well, there was one other thing…
At this thought Cassi’s eyes wandered farther down. Her silver bangles glistened in the sun as she raised her arms to shield her face in order to get a better look at the man. “Yeah, I know you, you were at the mansion weren’t you? Right by the creepy music room. God I hate that part of the house. I avoid it as much as possible,” she trailed off, suddenly losing herself in the memories her encounter with the room.
As quickly as she fell into her introverted mood, she quickly snapped out of it. “Here, sit down, I don’t bite, unless you want me to,” Her voice dropped into one promising intrigue and danger. She patted the seat next to her quickly as she crossed her legs, kicking her heels underneath the bench.
She closed her eyes and let her head lull backwards facing the bright sun as the wind continued to play with her long gold hair. A thought of Cole flitted across her mind for a moment, but seducing the man in front of her quickly pushed all thoughts of her, son? Yeah, we’ll go with son, aside. He was an independent kid after all; he could take care of himself.
“Beautiful day isn’t?”
While Cassi was trying to make a new bedmate, Cole was trying to figure out what to do with his new playmate of sorts. She was the first girl other than Lynett that he had met, and Lynett didn’t count because they lived together.
Cole let out a small snort at Kaydence’s comment about his mother not wanting the violin to be broken. She barely cared about him, why would she care about a ‘junky old piece of wood’ as she once called it. “No, I think she just likes being mean.”
“Do all girls curtsy?” Cole blurted out as he watched Kaydence dip into her second one. It had been something that nagged at him since the first curtsy, he had seen a lot of girls do it, well except his mother, but she never wore long enough skirts to do it.
He slowly started to turn and walk back to his shaded tower when he heard Kaydence’s soft voice saying something he barely caught. “Um…” Cole never knew what to say when some one complimented him, especially when it was a girl.
So he changed the subject instead. “Do you play the flute or just hold it ‘cause it’s shiny? I do that with Mother’s bracelets. She has so many of them and they sparkle so I borrow them for a while. She always gets really mean about it. She doesn’t like me at all.” He shoved his hands into his pockets before looking out and watching all the other kids run around chasing each other.
A small mischievous glint entered his eyes as he spied a forest. “Wanna go an adventure?”

Oh no, she was still talking to him. Tynan's face grew redder and redder as he couldn't help but just...stare at the woman. When she mentioned knowing him, again, he did remember. She had that cute little boy, and raced in long enough to have his heart racing for a few days. Tynan blushed deeper as he remembered what he wrote in his journal. He shifted uncomfortable and wondered if he should try to make an exit of some sort.
Expect that she invited him to sit down, trapping him by his manners to sit next to her. He kept his eyes on his hands though, that were folded neatly in his lap. Maybe if he didn't look at her he would be safe. That one comment had his blood pressure rising though as he swallowed abudibly.
"I...um...that is...gah! I'm sorry." he burst out finally. "I am horrible with beautiful women, and you're just...just...great and I'm sorry." he repeated and rubbed the back of his neck. "It...it is a great day." He attempted to salvage, feeling perfectly horrible.
He had no idea that Cassi enjoyed making him look like a fool, or else he would have...well he would have felt just as idiotic but at least he'd feel less like an a**.
Kaydence on the other hand was doing much better. Despite being shy she had no fears in actually talking to someone else, just so long as the conversation kept on going and Cole seemed fine with talking. She gave him a small smile when he mentioned her being mean and she reached over to pat his shoulder softly. The question though made her pull back.
"Um....I dunno." she admited honestly, rubbing the back of her neck as she tried to think about it. Her aunt didn't crusty, or her grandmother but she liked cursting. "I just do it because I feel like it. Do you find that bad?" she asked a little worried. Though at least her compliment held out well.
"Oh! I really play it!" Kaydence said proudly. "I'm really good at it for my age. That's what Tynan told me, and I know he knows because he goes to special concerts called Symphonies, kinda like us, cool huh? Anyway, he goes to syphonies all the time and they all have flute players and I wnat to be in one someday. I think I could do it if I tried really hard and practiced a lot." Kaydence always got more chatty about her flute, besides it was a topic she really knew. She frowned though when he said he wasn't liked.
"Well I don't know about her, but...I like you." Kaydence admited, shyly but honestly. "I think you're fun." she almost whispered.
She glanced back down to her flute, all shy again before she looked up suddenly at the offer of an adventure. She wasn't too sure how she felt about that yet but...on the other hand....She shifted a bit, then nodded silently. An adventure could be fun!

Cassi smiled softly at the awkward movements of the man she was trying to seduce. A part of her was starting to feel a little guilty. This man obviously didn’t have the greatest social skills and she was pulling out all the stops. “You have to be one of the sweetest men I’ve ever had the honor of meeting! Most men by now have done away with compliments like that!” Cassi smiled, and not a lecherous smile like before, just a smile. One that reflected the simple joy she received from that compliment. “You don’t have to be so shy! I won’t do anything you don’t want me to!” She scooted closer to Tynan until her bare legs ghosted against the fabric of his pants. “By the way, I don’t think I caught your name? Or if I did I can’t seem to remember it at the moment, want to refresh my memory?” Her voice had an edge of daring to it while trying to remain sweet and friendly. ~~~
Cole was starting to get fidgety. He didn’t normally stay and talk with people on his on free will. He enjoyed his alone time. Cassi would call him antisocial, whatever that meant, he would think, but he just considered himself a very private person. Cole made a note of Kaydence’s insecurity over his question about curtsying. “No, I didn’t mean it was bad, just curious, boys don’t curtsy.” Cole’s face scrunched up in an almost pensive way when he said that. “We would have to wear dresses, blech.” He stuck his tongue out in disgust at the thought. “I’ve never been to a symphony, Mother listens to music called techno.” His nose wrinkled as if he smelled something unpleasant. “I play my violin all the time!” There was not a trace of humility as Cole talked about his skills as a violinist. “I’m good too, I can play all sorts of songs, mother buys me sheet music whenever I give her back some of the things I’ve stolen, unless she’s really upset at me…” Cole’s voice trailed off as he thought of all the times Cassi had been upset at him, which was a lot. “Um…” Another compliment froze Cole once again, he didn’t hate them, but they made him feel funny on the inside and he would rather not feel funny. “Come on! The trees are over there!" He made a motion for Kaydence to follow as he raced to the wooded area. “Let’s see where it ends!”Kaydence was nice and Cole wanted to share his adventures with someone for a change.

Tynan was an awkward man but not a stupid one. He, for all his stammering and easy mistakes he could still notice when a girl seemed...intreested. He swallowed once as blood started to leave his head he could only stare at her as she spoke, those perfect lips moving so pristinly. His heart pounded at the options he could have, if he didn't mess it up.
"I-I-I-I'm Tynan." he stammered as he tried very hard to keep his eyes on hers. It wasn't seemly for a man to let his eyes wander, it was far to forward and made a woman seem like less than a respectable compaion. Oogling was a private thing meant for behind closed doors. "T-t-tynan Nequam. And you're...?" He had to admit he forgot her name too, if he ever got it in the first place, though he'd be sure to remember it this time.
She was, after all, hitting on him. Tynan struggled to remember every woman that hit on him. They're weren't that meany, at least not like the woman in front of him. He been with women but rich women were a different breed than the average woman. Tynan would admit he much perfered the woman in front of him to the women he known in the past. She was...alive, so very alive.
Kaydence giggled at Cole's face at his disgust of the dresses. Though she wore one herself she understood that his disgust for the dress wasn't for them as a breed but just wearing one himself. She smiled a little at the idea of grumpy Cole wearing a dress. It was so amusing.
"Sheet music? Oh how nice. I normally just play music as it comes to my head." Kaydance admited. She knew no songs unless she put the flute to her mouth and started to play, then she knew so many songs it was really amazing. She loved playing though, really loved playing, feeling the knowlege rush though her head. Before she could follow the impulse to put her flute to her lips though Cole was talking again.
She frowned a little at the trees, not so sure she wanted to go into a deep forest but then she was beckoned to follow and more she wanted to have a friend. An adventure sounded fine as long as Cole stayed close. She followed quickly, rushing up and grabbing his hand. She gave him a nervous little smile but moved at his pace.

“Tynan, that’s an interesting name, where’s it from?” Cassi loved to hear about name origins, she loved the stories behind them. This may of course be because of the rich story behind her own name.
“I’m Cassiopeia Palmer,” she held out her hand for a handshake, extending her bangle-clad arm out to the man beside her. “But honestly, call me Cassiopeia, and I may have to kill you, it’s just Cassi, Cassi, nothing more and nothing less.” Her face and tone were completely serious rather than her normal cheerful disposition.
While growing up, her full name had received taunting from her fellow classmates, and Cassi was not a woman who forgave lightly. “My mother named me after her favorite Greek myth and constellation, if you believe it, my middle name is Artemis.” There was a trace of bitterness in Cassi’s voice as she spoke of her mother’s naming habits. Her mother had only died 3 years ago and it was still a rare memory for Cassi. Before she got to nostalgic, Cassi shoved her mother’s memory out of her mind and focused back in on Tynan.
He had a pleasant face, she decided. He wasn’t the type of man she normally went after, but a bit of variety always helped. That, and his stuttering was absolutely adorable. There was a type of charm about him, a quiet, awkward charm, but a charm nevertheless. She stared for a few moments, until she thought of something to say.
“So how’s your brat?” Her tone was back to being playful and friendly.
Cole was enjoying talking to Kaydence about his violin, it seemed like a good topic for the both of them, seeing as they were both very passionate about their corresponding instrument. “Yeah, I do the same thing, but Mother said if she had to listen to me play all the time, I was at least going to play real songs. So I gets sheet music. It’s fun ‘cause you almost have to be carfuller and then you ‘member them and people can hum along to the songs you play ‘cause they know them too!” Cole’s grammar went down hill as he spoke faster about his music.
“Now hurry up! There’s a lot to see!” Cole tightened Kaydence’s grip and pulled her as he broke into a jog. He continued to drag her deeper and deeper into the forest until he reached an ancient looking rock wall. “Wow, I wonder how long this has been here!” Cole let go of Kaydence’s hand and jumped up on it and took a few tentative steps on the uneven rocks.
“I love the outdoors, music sounds better when there are plants around. Come on, let’s follow the wall!” He walked forward a few steps before turning around to make sure Kaydence was still following him.

"Um...ah...well it means Dark. It's...Irish. I...I'm not named after anyone. My brother was named after his father." he offered, trying to get mattaching stories to hers, which he listened to closely. He gave a nervous smile at her warning but took it very seriously as he thought about if he ever had that problem. Not really but he never really attracted bullies, the schools he went too bullied kids for different reasons than the ones she went too he was certian.
"I think Cassipoeia is a beautiful name fitting of a woman with such unearthly beauty." Tynan said quietly, and then blushed deeply once he realized what he said. he gave a small cough before contiuning. "But I would never want to make you mad at me, Cassi. I think it's wonderful you have such strong figures to call your own. Artemis was such a powerful creature in lore, and suits you." he added, reaching over to pat her hand.
"But to each their own. I have no feelings on my name honestly. My last name I carry some pride over, but I come from a good family that raised me well. I am glad that I can be a credit to my family name." Tynan never felt weighted down by his family's name, he was comfortable with his wealth and his spot, he had other things to worry about. Like not messing it up with this girl that seemed very, very interested in him. Maybe he should ask her out?
Oh dear he was bad at that. But he could get a nice resveration and everything, he was sure she'd look stunning in evening wear. Yes, he would do it. He'd ask her out on a date. It was only right. He wanted to take her someplace beautiful anyway. He could get a baby sitter for Kaydence for a night. Maybe if she stayed friends with Cassi's boy they could stay together at his place. That way Cassi wouldn't have to worry about a sitter.
Just as he was ready to open his mouth to ask Cassi asked her next question which just triped the poor man all up.
"M-m-my brat?" he stammered again, looking over her face for some malice or hate to children but only saw cheerful pleasure so he relaxed. She had a realxed personality, no wonder she took child raising more relaxed than he did. "Kaydence...she is fine. Very sweet and loving, I'm glad to have her. It was getting a little lonely being all alone in my home. It's better with two people in it." he admited.
Kaydence listened to Cole quickly loose his dignity in his excitment and gave a light giggle. She also liked talking about their shared passion in music. It was a wonderful thing to have to share, she wondered if they ever be able to play something together. It seemed natural, and she was sure it sound beautiful. But first she'd need to learn how to read this 'sheet music' so then they would be playing together. She'd ask Daddy next time they talked.
She was tugged along though and she also broke into a jog to keep up. She wasn't so sure about going so deep into the wood but she liked being with Cole so Kaydence didn't say anything. She let out a small gasp as they reached the wall as the silver and gold girl looked over all of it. She loved old things that stood the test of time, they were humbler than new things but posses a resuring strength. She climbed up onto the wall too, taking some wobling steps behind Cole.
"I like it too. Music seems more alive outside." she admited, following behind him with a smile. She wanted to see where the old wall went to as well. She bet it was somewhere fun.
