I decided to make a thread for the CC Ultimania, like the one Lunar has for the FFVII 10th Anniversary Ultimania. Post all the Cloti goodness, though really, this is all that's needed.Quote: KEYWORD Cloud and Tifa Cloud and Tifa are childhood friends, both born in Nibelheim. Though there was also a period later where Cloud lived away from them after having contracted Geostigma, they finally reach a commune with each over and return to living together once again. In DC, they rush together to Vincent's aid, in his battle against Deep Ground SOLDIER.

"neutral" doesn't mean you have to see Cloud as single or take the middle or neutral answer. It means you have no emotional investment in the matter. Otherwise seeking the counsel of a neutral party would be pointless (If I die, tell my wife... hello).
But yes, funny how their distance decreases, ain't it? For a women he can't stand, Cloud just can't ever seem to get away from Tifa.
Must be some damn effective shackles.

But, that's okay. =-D I'll see if there's anything else in the CC Ultimania that needs to be posted here, though like you said, that's really all you need. rofl Yes, and for a woman he can't stand, he decides to become obsessed with her promise, protect her when she's in danger, and have a "risky" scene with here. rolleyes
I can't stand things like,
"Cloud doesn't care about the promise anymore"
or,
"Cloud was forced into the promise and forgot about it."
Also,
"Cloud agrees to be Aeris' bodyguard".
I really can't stand when some Cleris fans use this as proof, because they ignore that Cloud promised Tifa a long time ago that he would always come to her aid. They also ignore that Cloud was obsessed with protecting people and that promise, and they refuse to accept the fact that Aeris IS the damsel type. You know, for being the bodyguard of Aeris, there are a lot more instances when he does or tries to protect Tifa. rolleyes Wow, Cloud decided to protect a friendly woman who appeared to have no experience fighting. That makes him in love with her, but the fact that he protects Tifa the course of his entire life is mere friendship. (P.S., he had Zack's persona, lol. =D )
"Cloud let Tifa rest against him because he was just being nice and didn't want to hurt her feelings"
"What was he supposed to do, push her off a cliff?"
"He would have let Aeris do the same thing"
How laughable are these? :giggle:

And that is true. I was just referring to the people who seem to be so driven to the idea that the only canon is that he's single. These same people will send their time disproving Cloti left and right, but leave Cleris alone. Which to me is the opposite of being a neutral... but oh well. XP
I don't mean all neutrals, I just mean certain ones I've come across in my days.
@Lunar: Yes, I assumed it was posted somewhere, but I thought why not have a similar thread to post all CC Ultimania Cloti quotes. I guess I'm just really enjoying all these quoting threads in case if you ever come across a silly person. XP
Oh, and I love how they make the claim he rejects Tifa when the screen goes to black. Hmmmm... that's convinent for their argument isn't it? That there proof is so obviously hidden behind a black screen. Hehe.

Very nicely done though.
Also, nice use of defining the word "dim". It seems to make so much sense that way, that it's hidden (which is also what his feelings are described as in other sources). Sure, it sounds like a negative word but as I said in Zeris, love is love is love. I mean, if he really didn't fall in love with her and that's what the line is "actually" saying, why use the words, "in love" at all?
Well, I'll add to your definition with dictionary definitions of the word "dimly" pertaining to something like this (as in I'm leaving out definitions about the term being used in other contexts).Quote: not seen clearly or in detail not clear to the mind not seeing clearly not understanding clearly Obscure to the mind or the senses Lacking sharpness or clarity of understanding or perception Quote: in a dim indistinct manner; "we perceived the change only dimly"

I reiterate my statement that 'secretly' or 'quietly' would be a better way to translate the word they give as 'dimly'. The kanji used roughly means 'obscured from view', and it makes so much more sense in context.

Thanks Ryushikaze. That's good to know. Either way, it's obviously meant to be some sort of hidden love, which we know is true from the game. Anyone saying otherwise doesn't know the meaning of the word. XP

About the "love" topic, Cleris fans use the FFVII commercial as proof of their love: A love that was never meant to be. Personally I don't see much of it because it was never meant to be so it'll never happen but with all the new sources and stuff, this only seems contradictory.

Err.....yeah....no matter what anyone says, this quote right here implies something. wink Someone completely neutral would understand that this quote means that Tifa and Cloud are canon. Plus, living together already implies that they have a relationship. *Shrug*

Exactly. It's very straightforward. You don't use dialogue to imply something romantic if you don't mean it as such. Realizing your feelings for someone is always said in a romantic context. If they wanted it to not sound romantic, they would have done so. They also follow it up with living together, meaning they took their relationship to the next level. XD
