Ugh, some things about life bothered her so much.
Well, wait. Not life itself, no...life was fine. She was alive, she was happy...for the most part, and she had a family. But her Mumsy, Vanilla Swirl...ugh, there were so many things wrong with that mare, so many, many things. Some things, even, that were worse than her Grandpappy, Bliss.
Her Mumsy (she called her Mumsy instead of Mother or Mom because she always thought it suited the strange family she lived in) never really let her only daughter do what she wanted. Ever. Even when growing into adulthood, the crazy mare had to sneak out every now and then to get her fill of adventure. And then, upon returning home, would have to make up a ridiculous excuse as to why she was out in the first place. Butter Pecan, her older half-brother had come up with some pretty good cover ups for her in the past, but 'Nilla caught on to that little trick after a while, and only bought the ones that truly made sense.
So they were running out of ideas. And running out of ideas meant less time to be by herself.
Less time to be by herself, meant less time to BE herself. She couldn't be wierd around 'Nilla, it was unacceptable. That's why she wished her Pop didn't run off with her brother, or at least, she wished he took her with him. Rainbow Sherbert couldn't stand her Mumsy anymore.
AND her name happened to Rainbow Sherbert. Who in their right mind names their child that? Seriously? She didn't even look like sherbert, whatever the heck that might be. Ugh. So Rainbow Sherbert gave herself her own nickname, Bertie...and everyone but 'Nilla called her that.
But today was different. 'Nilla was gone, gone with some random stallion like the little whore she was, and so Bertie seized the opportunity to run off, but not before telling Bliss she'd be gone just to make an excuse for her if 'Nilla returned. Walking through the path in the forest, her mind preoccupied with any new adventure, the mare smiled.
Today would be a good day. For sure.
