(( PRP For Korini, Citricious and Switch Gear ))

Switch had been on her own in the town of Durem for a while...and the supplies she brought with her were dwindling drastically. She figured it was time to find a Grocery store when she opened her fridge to find nothing but a single bottle of ketchup, an empty bag of bread and a half eaten jar of olives. Definitely time to go grocery shopping.

When she set out on her own to go find a Grocery store, she wandered for the greater part of three hours; as smart as she was, she seemed to forget she didn't actually KNOW where any were, and didn't think enough ahead to get a map.

Eventually she stumbled across one, but she had taken the roundabout way to get there; it had to have been only around two blocks from her home, and yet when she had left her apartment she had initially gone the OTHER way. She was on her way back home when she found it; The light blue haired woman had initially thought the search was fruitless.

As the saying goes, you should never grocery shop when you're hungry. The green eyed, blue hair woman was both Hungry and exhausted; her grocery cart, packed to the brim with everything from baking soda to ice cream to frozen meat. There was even a few chocolate bars poking out from between a carton of milk and a package of ham.

Switch didn't like chocolate.

Right now, the woman, dressed in simple jeans and a baggy green hoody, was staring absently forward while she stepped out from the frozen foods section, not looking where she was going.

There was a definite jingling noise as someone else was coming out of the Foreign Foods - Canned Goods - Juice aisle; the inestimable (or so she thought) Korini was going on a shopping trip. She was not a Durem-dweller, but lived in a house in the countryside, about a thirty-minute walk north of the town itself, and came to town mostly to buy things. The contents of her cart were a little eyebrow-raising: three bags of kibble designed for small animals, a large package of soda, a parcel of frozen shrimp, several cups of ramen in various flavors, and sundry other items.

The cart had to weight at least fifty pounds, what with that heavy kibble, and the young lady pushing it had the posture of somebody trying to shove a load of cement uphill. Her dark hair was in her face, and from below the hem of her skirt, a white-tipped fox tail twitched in either frustration or despair. She seemed to be the source of the jangling, with an assemblage of mismatched necklaces laid over her clothes. Wood beads, glass beads, plastic beads, and even a bird skull than hung lower than everything else dangled on strings, completely obscuring the print on the front of her jacket.

With her hair blocking her view, it was no wonder she ran her cart slap-bang into the side of Switch's, and this seemed to jolt her back into reality just as one of the kibble bags flopped to the floor from the shelf beneath the main part of the shopping cart.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I didn't see you!" she babbled in apology, and stooped (with even more noise-making) to shove the kibble back into place.

The loud crash from the sudden shopping cart collision did not miss the ears of a recently off-duty employee. Well, a recently fired employee. Luka hadn't known that one could be fired for wearing too much metal. In fact, he had made sure he attached all the chains and bangles to himself as he could, since he had been advised to ‘dress up on your first day of work’. Luka had even put in his favorite black metal eyebrow piercing. But clearly, his friend’s definition of ‘dressed up’ was far different than his.

As the teen sulked away from the locked door labeled “Manager’s Office” he stopped by the two ladies who had ran into each other. Clearly the loss of his job hadn’t yet set in, as he waltzed right up to the two and smiled. “Hello there, do either of you need some-” he caught himself before he could finish the sentence. “Ack, no! I mean erm, are you guys okay?” One glance at their full shopping carts, and he was suddenly reminded that his mother had asked him to grab some stuff on his way back from work. Well, seeing as his ‘work’ would have ended in six hours, he figured he had more than enough time to do that later. Pulling his long blue-streaked black hair back into a makeshift bun, the boy bent over, peering around the shopping carts, his metal clanging as he did. "Nothing else fell, right?"

Switch didn't hear anything; she didn't hear the clanking of many necklaces, she didn't hear footsteps, she didn't hear the squeal of an overly full cart; all she could hear was the growling in her stomach and the little voice in her head that screamed 'If you dont eat now I'll KILL YOU.' Of course, that ended when her shopping cart had an all-out collision with another one. Startled, Switch let out a little cry, clinging to her grocery cart to make sure it at least was safe; it had her food damnit! It had to stay safe!

Once the threat of losing her food was out of the way (which took all of three seconds to get over), the light blue haired woman started to panic slightly; only this time involving the woman. "Oh my god are you okay?!" In her mind's eye she saw the lab exploding again, she saw the burns that a few people were unfortunate enough to sustain...Switch was terrified of hurting someone, so even a shopping cart accident would make her panic. "I'm sorry, I'm SO SORRY!" Her breath caught when she realized she was speaking over two other people, not just the one; she noticed the boy then, and she frantically looked around for the third shopping cart. "I'm sorry!" She said to the metal-wearing kid as well.

"Nobody's hurt? No cuts, bruises, scrapes, burns?! Houses are still intact right? The carts aren't damaged, right?!" As frantic as she was, she still knew when she was being a moron; and right now her mental 'shut up now' alarm was sounding nice and loudly. Her expression changed suddenly, and a forced laugh escaped her lips. "Nevermind, cruel humor." While trying to pass it off as a mild case of bad-humored hysteria, she shook her head in the direction of the young man. "Naw, nothing from my cart spilled; its more like a really big can of sardines than a shopping cart anyway." Her head inclined back to the other woman, giving her a curious once-over.

"Sorry again, I wasn't paying attention. I like your little skull there, thats cute!" A thin smile played on the woman's lips. "Thank you for helping her." Her attention shifted to the male with the two-toned hair; she'd have to find out if he worked here and if he did, she'd have to talk to his boss to let him know he had an amazing employee. "Uhm...My name is Switch...I'm new to Durem, nice to meet you?" Despite having had a collison with the woman, Switch wasn't going to pass up an opportunity to make new friends. Or at least people she could talk to; it was horribly boring being along all the time.

Korini plunked down on the floor, sitting beside her cart with a sort of dazed expression, hawk-yellow eyes wide, but she shook her head and came to her senses momentarily. She waved Switch off with a vague "Thank you, thank you, I'm fine," and got to her feet; her skirt was a mismatched patchwork that was almost as jumbled as her necklaces, all rich, muted colors and variant patterns, and beneath that was a pair of paint-stained blue jeans. The appearance of Luka seemed to take her aback, as she gave him a once-over and raised her eyebrows as if she wasn't sure what she was seeing.

Though her first urge was to get her dander up about being careless with an overfilled shopping cart, the fox-tailed lady seemed to realize it was her fault, too, and just smiled at Switch. "I'm Korini... Feel free to play with that, I know it's kind of a mouthful," she said, "It's nice to meet you too!" Then she turned to Luka. "How about you?" Might as well ask him, since he had come over to see them and so on, which was pretty nice and made up for his silly appearance. It wasn't as if she was one to talk, being a weird hybrid of hippie, bag lady, and tribeswoman.

Luka smiled and gave a soft laugh, something that one probably wouldn't think was possible for someone who had that many pointy things on him. "It's alright, no one's hurt." He said, trying to reassure the blue-haired lady, his hands gently holding her shoulders as he looked her in the eyes. He had found that was an effective means of calming down hysterical school girls, so maybe it'd work here too. Speaking of blue hair, he would have to ask if it was natural or dyed, becuase he knew his friend was looking for that colour, and it looked fantastic on her.

Letting go of her, Luka put his hands on his hips, just above his neon green piano belt. "And it was no problem at all, really." He gave a grin to Korini, completely ignoring the look she gave him - he got it a lot, and if he hadn't learnt to deal with it, then he'd probably be a shattered mess of emotions on the floor.

Putting out a hand in the directions of both ladies, he finally introduced himself. "It's nice to meet you, Korini," He gave her a polite nod. "and Switch." The same gesture. "My name's Luka, and I'm pleased to meet both of you."

Switch's green eyes, as wide as they were in her moment(s) of panic, found themselves locked by the metal head's gaze. It was kind of calming to have someone look you in the eyes and ensure you that everything was alright. Sighing in content she nodded, her gaze moving down to the extended hand; and though she was on his left, she took it as an open invitation and shook it with her own left. "Do you work here?" She asked, not really thinking but wanting to get it out anyway. "You're a really nice kid."

"Korini and Luka...Okay, thats not too hard to remember." Hey, she could remember chemicals, she could remember these two names! "Are you two from Durem?" Absently, she picked at a few items in her cart. "Uhm...if you are, I'd really like your help..." She couldn't think of a way to keep these two from leaving right now; as silly as it was...she'd been alone for so long it was silly of her to let a possible opportunity pass.

Korini decided to greet the kid unconventionally and placed her hand palm down on top of his, then bowed deeply in the traditional manner. "Switch is right, you're a nice young man. It's good to meet you, Luka," she said, finally getting past the metalheadedness and thinking Aw, how cute is that! If only her little brother was that nice--he was about that age.

"I don't live in Durem, I'm a little north of here... I've been here a while, though! I know my ways around town, for the most part," she said airily, thinking of her long absence and whether that had changed much. As far as she'd seen, it hadn't. "I'd be happy to help you, miss Switch. Is it because you're new?" Switch had said so in the introductions, or so Korini remembered. Could be wrong. She just wagged her tail slowly, making her skirt swish and bunch in places, and hoped assisting Switch would make up for the shopping cart trouble.

Luka laughed nervously as he looked at the ceiling. "Heh, "Do I work here?" you ask? Erm... Funny story," He sighed. He didn't really want to get into the fact that he was fired five minutes into his first job, just because he set off the metal detector. "I was just fired, actually." He paused a moment before quickly changing the subject. "Thanks, though. My mother always prided herself on having been able to get me to read the entire Etiquiette book." He kind of felt like he was babbling pointlessly, so he stopped, and looked at Korini.

An intrigued gaze glazed over Luka's eyes as he watched Kori greet him in, what he considered to be, such a formal manner. He wanted to ask if it were from a specific culture or religion, but he didn't want to offend her. People can sometimes take curiosity as an insult, and he didn't want her to take his curiosity the wrong way. Hearing her mention the whereabouts of her abode, however, sparked a common thread between the two. (Beyond them both being somewhat unusual.) "I don't live in Durem either, but I live closer to here than to Barton so it's easier to come here for what we need, so I know the area fairly well." He shrugged, and looked back at Switch. "What do you need help with?" Maybe, if he were lucky, he could get them to help him with his groceries? He never knew what brands to use, and hoped that the ladies would be educated in that area.

"Oh." Switch said almost awkwardly when Luka explained himself. "Well...I'm going to talk to the guy who owns this place anyway!" She decided with an implike grin. "And then I'll make him feel really bad about firing you." Then, if the manager decided to give him another chance, Luka could either jump on the opportunity OR he could feel really good about telling him no. Either way, at least he had the choice. "I'll do it before I go!" She decided, pumping a fist in the air like she was a comic book hero going on some big quest. Korini had received a quizzical look when she did that funky bow thing...but it was quickly overlooked as it was a neat little thing to do and she actually liked watching Korini pull it off.

"Oh." She said again, this time because both Korini and Luka weren't from around Durem, really. "Uhm...Yeah. I've never stepped foot in Durem before I was relocated here so...I'm at a little bit of a loss..." The blue haired woman said sheepishly, massaging one of her many layered locks between her index finger and thumb. "Well...the main things I guess, like food places and the kinds of stores around here and the Doctors office and the hospital..." They weren't brought up because she wanted to know where they were, she figured she would need to visit at some point...especially when she found and unpacked her little lab kit out of boredom.

"But I guess the biggest thing right now is food. I'm starving..." Switch whined loudly, her vocals accented by an angry growl from her stomach. "I only have a bottle of ketchup and half a jar of olives left and it took me HOURS to find this place." She dreaded lugging all of her stuff home on an empty stomach. "I guess a taxi is first on the list though...to get all this stuff home." She eyed her full grocery cart with both contempt and longing.

"A stranger in a strange land? Poor thing," said Korini in sympathy, patting Switch's shoulder. "You sound like you need an all-out tour of town! And as for you, Luka..." The way she rounded on him was almost forboding, but she flashed him a winning smile. "Firing you was a bad move! I'll go with Switch, I bet we can get your job back in no time," she chirped, and for good measure gave him a thumbs-up. Switch wasn't about to outmatch her for enthusiasm just yet!

The food situation made her grimace--yikes! "Wow, um... Do you like Chinese food? I know a nice little restaurant uptown, not too far from the hair salon. You do know where that is, right? It's easy to spot, really," said Korini, starting to babble but fancying herself helpful. Even though Chinese food sometimes disagreed with her, it was still quite delicious. She glanced at the grocery cart, and froze a bit when she spied a couple of KitKat bars sticking out from behind a carton of milk.

"I dreamed about this..." Another vision, she'd had it last Wednesday: a dream that had a brief flash of looking into a shopping cart and seeing KitKat bars. Premonition was weird, since she was never quite sure if it was the future that could be or will be, but it gave her a newfound confidence with this encounter. There was a degree of fate here! That was exciting.

They were going to... complain at the manager? For firing him? As slightly frightened as he had been when Korini had turned to him, Luka smiled. If it hadn't been for his self-restraint, he would have wibbled like a child and hugged both of them. "Actually," he thought, "Why wouldn't I hug them?" and in one swift motion, the teen was hugging both of the ladies he had just met, grinning madly. "If you actually do, you have no idea how much that would mean to me." Screw self-restraint, he had been trying to find a job for over a year, and this had been his only chance.

Pulling away, Luka looked over at Korini, "Oh! I think I know what place you're talking about. It has really good dim sum, and it's deep fried pork is famous." At this point he became rather animated, waving his hands in an excited fashion. "Or, maybe I'm talking about another place, but I think it's the same." The boy finally took a breath, and rested his weight on one leg, feeling more relaxed.

"I vote we get this stuff paid for, drop it off," He thought for a moment, wondering if they would consider it safe to drop off their groceries at their houses. Possibly, but who knows, they might be paranoid. "Somewhere, wherever you guys want to, and then head off to a restaurant or cafe." A grin crept onto his young face. Luka was very much a people person, and so he had become excited about making new friends and spending time with them. "We could walk there, too, so Switch could get a better feel for the town."

The teen reached to the back of his head, and pulled the loose bun out, shaking his head a bit as the bi-coloured hair fell around his face and neck - he had always liked the feeling of longer hair, it was sort of like a security blanket. Combing through the dark strands with his fingers, Luka glanced at Korini, catching what he thought had been just the end of a sentence. "Pardon? What did you dream about?" He was curious, firstly as to why she had brought up her dream, and secondly for how it related to their current situation.

"Yeah...I really do." Switch agreed with the foxlike woman, her grin growing wider when she had a partner in crime with whom to complain to the manager. A surprised cry left her lips when the boy hugged her; she hadn't expected that! Her grin turned into an awkward smile and the woman lightly and half-assedly returned the hug. "Well...You're too nice of a guy to just let the injustice pass!" She recovered quickly once he let go of her; she didn't mind being hugged, but she wasn't overly fond of sudden and surprising movements from other people. Other people were variables...and a lot of times it was the variables that caused explosions and Switch was more or less shell shocked.

"Chinese? I LOVE Chinese food!" The blue haired woman clapped her hands together. She realized then that she was overly hungry...so her proclaiming a love for Chinese food was up to debate when it came to fact. "But I really do like Chinese food! Even when I'm not starving. I'd eat pretty much anything right now, even chocolate! I don't like chocolate." Which explained her cart, really. "But I like that idea! Buying food, complaining to the Manager for Luka and then dropping off the food then GETTING food. I think I can handle things in that order." Switch decided with a nod. "I didn't know there was a hair salon in Durem though, so I'm not really helpful...I don't dye my hair often 'cause it grows so slowly." The woman rambled when she was excited and even moreso when she was hungry.

"Dreamed?" Green eyes blinked curiously before focusing on the fashion-eccentric fox woman. "Like Deja-vu? You dreamt the grocery store and food?"

Korini seemed unfazed by the hug, and enveloped both Luka and Switch in a returning, jingly squeeze that smelled strongly of some sort of vanilla-flavored perfume; she was a great appreciator and distributor of hugs. Her tail was wagging like a flag in a high wind. "Dahling, anything for you," she said with a feigned high-society drawl, punctuated by a crooning laugh. The swerving of the topic to Chinese food was just fine with her, and she looked just as animated, letting go of Switch in order to perform some elaborate hand gestures.

"Tokyo Express or Peking Wok or China Gourmet? I think there are like three of them in this town alone... My favorite's the sesame chicken! But yeah, there's all sorts of good stuff," she babbled, and narrowly avoided knocking one of her arms into a display of jarred pickles.

"Not to worry, Switch my dear, we'll chaperone you for however long you need," said Korini sympathetically, trying to keep a wobbly pickle jar from tipping over with the same hand that nearly dislodged it from the shelf. The mention of her dream made her smile a bit.

"Oh, it's... I can see the future, sometimes. I can't really choose when it happens or what I see, but it comes up in dreams and sometimes daytime things, but that second one isn't very often... It runs in my family, so to speak. I'm probably crap at explaining this, sorry..." Korini tucked a long strand of her own blue-black hair behind one pointed ear, feeling all of a sudden self-conscious.

The teen laughed lightly at the supportive responses by the ladies, and thanked them yet again for their generosity. However, as soon as the third person in the trio confessed her love for Chinese, a smile broke into his pale face. "That's awesome!" Hearing the list of familiar names that Kori had spoken, he continued onwards. "So I guess the only decision remaining is which restaurant to choose."

Luka was suddenly distracted by the wandering thought of which one of the three he had visited. And so, thinking for a minute, Luka tryed to recall the name of the restaurant that he so fondly remembered. "I'm pretty sure the one I went to before was called the Peking Wok." He murmured, half to himself. He was not about to state that he was 100% sure, though, seeing as he often had problems with remembering names.

Shrugging off the thought, he started speaking again, more energetically this time, a chain of his clanging as he bounced slightly on the spot. Had he not been so enthused about going on an outing for the day, Luka likely would have remembered to ask about Switch's hair colour for Tyrell. However, easily distracted as he was, he turned to Korini with growing interest. "No, it's okay, it doesn't sound like it's easy to explain. So it's sort of like you can occasionally see the future?" His eyes widened in surprise. "That's really cool."
