i would have to say nazo since he is so much stronger then sonic and even matched with super sonic

I'm stuck in between metal Sonic and Knuckles. Metal Sonic's the more dangerous one, but he's a robot. Knuckles on the other hand can get stronger and stuff, giving sonic a natural challenge. So my vote's more for knux...who is also my favorite character.

i'd have to say Shadow....cuz both Sonic and Shadow r pretty much equally matched...which in turn makes it harder for them to defeat one another

Well Silver qualifies as "other" for me, since a rival continues to have an interest in fighting you to prove who is stronger, while I figured Silver just fought Sonic because Mephiles tricked him, which is different from a rival.... But Metal Sonic can also make himself stronger, through unatural ways, as we've seen time and again (Sonic Heroes being the most recent example)

i'd have to say Sonic vs. Shadow. They are evenly matched in almost everything. But i would also say that Knucles was once Sonics greatest rival. But they are more friends than anything now.

i can't see sonic and knuckles as rivals. though earlier in sonic x they fought. i think shadow and metal sonic are the best rivals for sonic.

Eggman. He's not really all that much of a villian anymore. Although most of those choices are now friends of Sonic, friendly rivals, not rival rivals.
