The New Academy
The Academy stood tall and proud with its light green walls and open windows gallantly catching the suns rays. The grass blades that surrounded the entire school moved in the waves of the wind, creating a sea like motion. The main doors to the school were 10 feet tall, created out of a fine wood that was stained a deep green forest color. 7 feet from the entrance stood the village's symbol trimmed out of the grass and surrounded by ivory rocks. The scenery outside was set perfectly with its serene and peaceful atmosphere.
Inside the academy was another story. The sounds of students practicing and teachers coaching could be heard from the large sparring room located in front of the main doors. The roof towered 2 stories high with a domed shaped glass roof that let the sun beam in. However, the room stayed cool, thanks to a cooling system the farmer's had created using water. The room was divided into four areas so students could be practicing their taijutsu while others practiced other skills.
Heading to the east end of the building, were the classrooms where students would study hard and listen to the teachings of their instructors. Each room contained 10 desks and a wall length chalkboard. Each classroom had windows that outlooked the village and Kusakage building.
Towards the west end of the building was the town's library. Its books contained a wide range of knowledge. The Kusakage had specifically sent out a ninja to collect books from neighboring countries and cities and bring them back here for the children to read. She had also added a few books of her own, which talked about techniques that only the village of grass had in their ranks. Also, in the west end of the school is the teachers lounge and testing area for graduation time.

Jutsus Henge no Jutsu: I decided to use this skill as the first Jutsu to learn. The children's determination will flow faster if I introduce a Jutsu to them first. During this exercise, I used these rules: Roll a 1d20. You must get an 11 or higher to successfully complete hand seal and transform into a crude image of the object. (We used a large stone) It was required of each student to successfully attempt this 5 times for the first day of training. I had each student post the following stats with each training post; Cp: Train: ?/5 Experience: ?/100 If a student successfully performed the jutsu, he was awarded +1 Experience and -2Cp. If a student failed an attempt, he would lose -1Cp. To regain Cp they had to rest for one post to gain back +2Cp. Part II The final part of the training is done much like the first. I picked an object for the students to transform into, by using the seal of the tiger or sheep, they would transform. After they did their transformation, I would make them hold it for 2 minutes. Cp: -2 for succesful transformation + -1 per minute held Train: ?/4 Experience: +10 Experience for completion Formula: 1d20 + Chakra Control DC: 10 To regain Cp the would have to rest for one post and recieve +1Cp.
Nawanuke no Jutsu I will tie two students together using my Rope Skill (1d20 + 1d10 + Use Rope(Dex)) The students will each roll a (1d20 + Escape Artist(Dex)) and add their totals together. If they beat my score they have successfully untied themselves. If not, they must try again to beat the same number. They must do this 3 times to complete training and will recieve 10 experience points.
Bunshin no Jutsu For the first part of the Bunshin training, the students would practice their handseals;Tiger boar ox and dog while building up their chakra. DC: 10 Formula: 1d20 + Chakra Control Train: ?/5 Experience: +1 when handseals have been completed. Points: +1 Chakra Control No cp cost and no hp deduction. Part II The second part of the training would be to create the actual clones by using the hand seals. To successfully create a clone, the student would have to have a total of 5. At every incriment of 5, the student would make a clone. 5 = 1 clone (-1cp) 10 = 2 clones (-2cp) 15 = 3 clones (-3cp) 20 = 4 clones (-4cp) If a student only has 3 CP then he cannot create 4 clones, even if his total is 20. Resting for one post will gain back +2Cp. The must successfully complete the jutsu 4 times, disregarding how many clones they create. Formula: 1d20 + Chakra Control Train: ?/4 Experience: +1 for every clone
Kawamiri no Jutsu To learn this technique, I took the students out to the bamboo forest and made bundles of bamboo for them to use to practice. I made two different exercises for this Jutsu, because of inactivity. First, would be the solo training. The student would pretend that his opponent was coming at him with a strength of 3. Formula: 3 + 10 = DC: 13 Kawamiri Formula = 1d20 + Kawamiri Train: 4/4 Experience: +10 Points: +1 Kawamiri Second, would be the students who were practicing in pairs. One student would attack using the formula: 1d10 + Str. Then the defensive student would use their opponents total + 10 to create their DC. They would then use the formula 1d20 + Kawamiri. Train: 4/4 Experience: +10 Points: +1 Kawmiri
Kakuremino no Jutsu (Cloak of Invisibility Technique) This jutsu is where one uses a cloak or a piece of cloth to make oneself blend in with the background, interpreting oneself invisible. I had the students practice with each other by using their spot checks. All the students would hide while one student would count to 10 while the others hid. Once they were hid, the student counting would use a Spot check to find them. Formula: 1d20 + Hide(Dex) DC: ^^^Whatever that comes out too^^^ Formula: 1d20 + Spot(Wis) Train: Successfully hide 3/3 Experience: +3 for each successful hide Points: +1 Hide and +1 Spot
There are two special jutsu that will be taught to students that are not required standards but in kusa they are. Kai release and Fuda jikkai.

Skills How to Train: Below are descriptions of exercises you can do to train you skills. In the profiles I have you add trained points onto skills for a reason. This is where it comes into play. You take the base DC I give you in these exercises and add your skill points onto it and that gives you your DC. You can do it as many times as you like but the DC will change every time. Such as if your kage would like to do treat injury with a skill of 54. He would take the DC: 10 and add his points to it which makes the new DC: 64. That is what he would use.
Now, every time you do an exercise and complete it, the number of times you must successfully train it will go up by 1. So, if you train your spot skill and the amount of training is 5/5 the next time you train it you will have to post 6/6. If you have any questions about the training system ask them in the Kusagakure news thread.
The same goes for Abilities.Taijutsu To practice Taijutsu, the students were paired up and sparred against one another. I try to keep those with a high strength together and those with a weak strength together. No one was allowed to use ninjutsu or genjutsu during the fight. Taijutsu was the only techniques used. The kept fighting until 5 HP was left. To Attack: 1d20 + Taijutsu(Str) To Dodge: Dodge (No dice roll) To Grapple: 1d20 + Bonus Melee Attack To Escape: 1d20 + Escape Artist To flip, Handspring, etc: 1d20 + Tumble To Damage: Random number 1+Str to 6+Str Ties go to the favor of the attacker. Rolling a "1" is an automatic failure. Rolling a "20" is an automatic win. Experience: +3 awarded to the winner and +1 awarded to the loser. Points: +1 Taijutsu to both students.
Escape Artist In exercising this skill, I paired up my students up to practice escaping grapples. One student would roll and 1d10+StrMod and escaping student would roll a 1d20+Dex. Each student had to successfully complete this 4 times. Once the training was completed the students were awarded with +2 Experience and +1 Escape artist skill point. If a student failed to escape a grapple it would be -1Hp. Train: 5/5
Treat Injury You have requested that the students go to the hospital to help you treat injuries. I have taken the time to form a lesson plan. They will be setting splints for broken bones. They have to reach a total of 10 or higher to set the splint correctly. If they fail, they will have to try again. Once they have set 4 splints they'll recieve +1 skill point to Treat Injury. DC: 10 Formula: 1d20 + Treat Injury(Wis) Experience: +1 for each successful splint Train: ?/4 Points: +1 Treat Injury Part II After they have done that, onto stitches. They must have a 15 Total or higher with the same equation set above. Each time the successfully stitch up a patient the recieve +2 Experience. To stitch up one patient they must do 5/5 successfully stitches.
Swimming The children will need to meet up in the bambo forest where there is a river. They'll have to swim across the river on their own strength. DC: 10 Formula: 1d20 + Swim(Str) Train: ?/3 Experience: +1 Points: +1 Swimming Part II The children will be swimming across the same lake, but this time with 5lb weights tied around their ankles. DC: 15 Train: 5/5 Experience: +3 Formula, Train, and Points are all the same as part I.
Shuriken Each student will be given 10 shurikens and be placed in front of a target board. There will be 3 rings around the bullseye. 0-5 = Ring 1 (+0Exp) 6-10 = Ring 2 (+1Exp) 11-15 =Ring 3 (+2Exp) 16-20 = Bullseye (+5Exp) Formula: 1d20 + Attack Ranged Bonus Train: Use all 10 shurikens up. Experience: Add your total by what you threw. Points: +1 Shuriken if experience total is 35 or below. +2 Shuriken if experience is 36 or above. Put in each post: Training Experience: (Keep adding what you hit together for your experience score.) Shurikens: (The remainder you have left.)
Diplomacy This was just sit down exercise I had the kids do during lunch. I had suggested that they vote on what skill they wanted to learn next. By using the Diplomacy skill, everyone would try to persuade one person to vote for their skill. Whoever had the highest Diplomacy would win, or if the person who was being persuaded beat all their attempts with sense motive, they would win. DC: 1d20 + Diplomacy(Char) vs 1d20 + Sense Motive(Wis) Experience: Winner recieved +1 Points: Winner recieved +1 skill(diplomacy/sense motive)
Perform (Charisma) Each subcategory of performance, should be its own seperate skill, like a ninja weapon would be. Act - Speak the lines successfully and with emotions. Dance - Learn a routine and get those kicks up high. Sing - Hit those high notes just right. Stand-up - Say that punch line just right. String Instrument - Keep your fingers on the right cords. Wind Instrument - Don't make it squeek. Formula: 1d20 + Perform(Subcategory) DC: 10 Train: 5/5 Experience: +1 Points: +1 (Subcategory)
Tumble (Dexterity) Practice your flips, handsprings and jumps through the trees or on the ground. DC: 12 Formula: 1d20 + Tumble(Dex) Train: 5/5 Experience: +1 Points: +1 Tumble
Cat and Mouse [Move Silently][Listen][Hide][Spot] This is a game played with two or more people. In the fields of Kusagakure, there is a mouse who is trying to make his way through the field without being spotted by a cat. He must cross a 25ft distance without being detected or seen by the cat. The first roll is done by the cat. 1d20 + Listen(Wis) As the cat listens, the mouse tries to move through the fields. 1d20 + Move Silently(Dex) DC - If the cat's Listen total is higher than the mouse, the mouse must take cover. 1d20 + Hide (Dex) The cat then has to find the mouse. 1d20 + Spot(Wis) If the cat fails, the mouse can continue moving, but now must be warey. 1d20 + Move Silently(Dex) + (-1 for every time heard) The mouse can only move 5ft at a time. Train: 5/5 If the mouse is seen by the cat, he is caught and the cat is rewarded. Experience: +2 Points: +1 Spot +1 Listen If the mouse successfully moves across without being seen, he is safely rewarded. Experience: +2 Points: +1 Move Silently +1 Hide
Secrets [Gather Information and Read Lips] This game is played with several people. All players line up in a row. The first person in the line is given a fairly long sentence by the sensei. The object is to pass the sentence completely intact and unaltered down the line of players. Sensei may ask players to go through more than one round. Checks: -Gather Info: 12 -Read Lips: 1-5: Only heard main idea (+0 exp) 6-10: Caught a few key words (+1 exp) 11-15: Had most of the wording correct (+2 exp) 16-20: Perfectly understood (+5 exp) Rewards: -Experience: Total experience gained during game, An extra +5 exp to everyone if sentence remains unaltered at the end of the game -Points: Everyone gets +1 Gather Info, + 1 Read Lips, If sentence remains unaltered, everyone gets +2 Gather Info, +2 Read Lips Game Play: - Player 1 passes the sentence to Player 2 1d20 + Gather Information (Cha) - Player 2 must try and decipher the sentence correctly. If Player 1 failed DC, then Player 2 receives +1 on their Read Lips DC 1d20 + Read Lips (Wis) - This continues from player to player until it reaches the end with the last player retelling the sentence to Player 1. Player 1 then has to repeat both the original sentence and the sentence he heard out loud to the class.
Reading [Knowledge or Ninja Skills] The Kage had sent Takahashi Koro on a mission to retreive many different varities of books that would cover the basic knowledge groups and ninja skills. You can only read up on a ninja skill ONCE to gain a skill point. Other areas such as the knowledge areas can be read up on as many times as you'd like. You must post what you're reading and if you're character understands what he is reading. 1d20 + Knowledge(Int) DC: 10 + 1 per level/completed training 5/5 + 2 per level/completed training Experience: +1 Points: +1 Knowledge: (to whatever you're reading up on) [Note: There are libraries in the Kusakage's Office and the Academy]
Chakra Control You instructor has told you to focus chakra onto your hands, which is the easiest spot to gather your energy. DC: 10 1d20 + Chakra Control Cp Cost: -1 per failed DC Train: 5/5 Rewards: +1 Chakra Control and +1 Experience

Fujiwara stopped before the academy. He had seen it many times, yet he always stopped and looked around as if it was his first time. His favorite part of the school was the village symbol trimmed out of the grass. Whenever he stared at that symbol his heart raced and he was filled with images of himself as a gennin. He could see himself wearing the gennin uniform and branding a new shiny headband, but those were only images that had yet to be realized.
He stepped inside quietly and looked up. Immediately he saw the huge blue sky overhead. That was his other favorite thing, the glass dome that served as a roof. He loved staring through the glass and just loosing his whole sense of self, as he scrutinized every cloud. But again he shook himself from his distractions and walked further into the school. This afternoon he was here for some extra classes. After all he had begun his shinobi life a few years ago and was in dire need of catching up with his comrades. However soon afterwards he remembered he was supposed to meet up with the Kusakage and rushed out of the school.

Opal walked into the academy and paused for a moment to breath in the crisp air and silence. Unlike the Kage's office this place was not stuffy and full of old papers and the smell of old men. Why Konpaku had left her the job was unimaginable. Walking down the hall she turned to room on her right and walked up to the board. She picked a piece of chalk and quickly in her beautiful penmanship wrote four things and underlined them
Shinobi Principals
Taijutsu
Ninjutsu
Genjutsu
"Now tough guy tell me what all these mean and give me one example of each if you can." Opal asked knowing most likely he knew nothing of the four.
Answering the question 1d20 + int dc:10 4/4 Special: you get one roll for each, if answered wrong move to the next one.

Fujiwara read each subject and gathered everything he knew and speculated about everyone of them. He found the task a lot harder than he would have liked. Because he had been so far away from a shinobi village all his life, most of the information he had was that they were ruthless and pitiless, of endless strength, masters of the shadows and practitioners of magical arts. But he wasn't sure how much of that was true and what percentage was fabled lies made up by the countrymen.

After thinking for a few minutes Fujiwara finally formed a answer for the first topic underlined on the board. He took a deep breath and began voicing his answer.
"Shinobi Principals. The standards which we structure our life and choose our path. Um... I would say that they're are two main principal group the values of their village by which we determine what we can do and what's forbidden and our own personal principals which drive us pass our human limits."
As he finished voicing his answer he felt a little weird. Though he was born and raised in the country, he knew how to read and was considered smart back home, compared to the others whom could barely write their name...
(I didn't use the mods since 20 is an auto success, is that okay or should I always use them??)

Opal was surprised by his answer and was quite impressed as well. It seemed he was smarter then she had first assumed. If the boy could continue to impress him this way then he could more then likely graduate in half the time required. "Nice choice of words. Lets move on to the next one."

Fujiwara read the next topic and read it out loud. He had only a general idea of the subject and wasn't feeling too confident. His sensei had complemented him and that had made him extremely nervous. But like before concentrated deeply and prepare for his next answer.

Fujiwara frowned as no information flowed into his mind. He tried and tried but he couldn't form a smart answer like before. He thought about making up an answer or as his friends back home would do 'winging it'. But he wasn't confident enough to convince Opal-Sensei, so instead he said, "Um... I think it has to do with physical abilities of ninja, but I'm not too sure... I need to study a bit more..." he said sounding disappointed in himself.

Opal smiled as she sat on the desk in her short mini skirt and crossed her legs. It was no surprise to her how the child knew a few things but not others. It was normal, ninja used words and symbols only they would know for reasons to hide their secrets. "Its fine kiddo, believe me no one has all the answers or none of us would die. Taijutsu deals with hand to hand combat of a shinobi. It is the most common of the combat forms and is one of the easiest to learn until you get into things such as the blind palm or drunken fist style. Lets move on to the next one."

Fujiwara listened carefully. His sensei's word calmed him and he decided simply to do his best instead of trying to impress her. There was no use fussing over things that couldn't be change, he decided to simply try his best and dedicate himself to absorbing as much knowledge as he could from Opal-Sensei. Calmed, relaxed and focused, Fujiwara continued with the next subject ninjutsu.

Like before, Fujiwara didn't really know the answer. However he would at least prove to his sensei, that he wasn't just a dumb farmer-boy, by trying to deduce it, from what she explained Taijutsu was. He figured it was better trying to deduce an answer than simply stating 'don't know, or next...'
"Sorry, I don't really know but... If Taijutsu deals with physical combat, perhaps this Ninjutsu is another form of combat. Back home myths spoke that ninja could use magical powers to aid them in battle, perhaps this Ninjutsu is one of these fabled powers?"
