Welcome to The Brass Cog tea-house, with a wonderful view out to the clouds surrounding it. Outside of it you see a painted sign for the little yet long tea-house, flaking slightly and in need of a new cover of paint. Small rows of flowers hang from the window panes of this little shop. The grey slate tiling glints in the sunlight above. There is a bench outside, and the tea-house is surrounded by a low white picket fence. From what you can see by the circular windows, it has two floors.
Upon opening the door, you come upon a small yet comfortable room with a rather low ceiling. It seems to be divided into three parts, a small corridor leading off to the next part and going down two short steps every time. Each room. The first room contains a counter and behind it all kinds of collections of cake, coffee, and of course tea. There are many different types to choose from and they all look delicious. By the door you came in is an old brass umbrella stand and a row of hooks for hanging up your coat of hat. A maze of brass pipes crawl along the ceiling in a disorientated fashion, but let out wonderful warmth with the occasional soft hissing of steam billowing through them.
The second room is simply filled with four tables with cushioned chairs, old paintings and an old record player resting in one corner. Beside it sits a row of shelves with numerous records sitting on it.
Finally the last room contains many loungers, arm chairs and a sofa. It is rather crowded in this room, with all of the soft seating and a low wooden coffee table. A small stone fireplace at the back of the room lets out a welcoming glow and warms the whole room wonderfully. At the right back end of the room is a staircase leading up to the top floor, and a sign stating, "Staff members only."
We hope you enjoy you stay at the Brass Cog tea-house.

Myles walks into the tea house and finds a table. Laying his satchel upon it, he sits back against it, takes a ukulele out and begins picking out a quiet, relaxing melody.

While ordering her cup of tea, Lenore hears a strain of the music and smiles. Thanking the person who had helped her choose the drink (so many unique types and flavors to choose from!), she finds a seat close enough to the musician to hear him well - but not close enough to be disruptive by far.
She opens a book and starts to read - ostensibly, at least. The music keeps pulling her attention to it in a calm sort of way, until it's all she can think about. Still, she goes on pretending to read until the musician is finished playing, then she looks up and smiles at him. "That was beautiful! I've never heard someone play like that, you must be really talented!"

"Talent is merely the application of time. And time I have quite the surplus of. But most likely you've never heard someone play a ukulele like this because it is treated usually as a novelty. I prefer to treat it as the instrument it deserves to be."
(Yeah, I know, a uke in this period is probably an anachronism, but that's the name of the guild, dammit. xd )

Tara walked down the corridors quietly and then stopped in the room where Myles and Lenore were sitting. "Can I help get you anything?" She asked with a small smile to them. She was wearing a white shirt at the time along with a black waistcoat and pinstripe trousers. An apron rested on top of this, and as ususal she wore her long but not heeled boots.

"That may be true about talent. I still say you have more than most people, whether or not time's on your side with it. But still, it's a beautiful instrument, and the music you produce from it is too. I can't imagine anyone treating it like a novelty." Lenore studies the instrument without touching it for a few moments. "You called it a... ukelele? Odd name, that is. I assume it means something, right? I wonder what.... ah well!" She stops rambling suddenly as the waitress appears, and smiles again.
"Ah, hello! Em, actually, yes please. I was talking with someone up at the counter, who recommended I try cinnamon tea with a bit of honey in it, but... they seem to have disappeared." She grins sheepishly. "I guess they didn't actually work here, now that I think about it. To be honest, that sounded pretty tasty, but I don't remember seeing it on your menu. I was wondering if you could tell me if you have that in stock? Oh, and you must sit and hear him play! He's too modest to admit he has natural talent, but it's worth a listen by far. Oh!" She turns to the musician. "It's rude of me to presume anything. Might I trouble you for another song, if you aren't busy? Perhaps in exchange for a drink of your choice? My treat, of course."

He smiles and begins strumming a simple melody as he says, "cinnamon tea with honey sounds intriguing, I'll have to try that." And then he moves on into a more complex tune, his fingers dancing on the frets.

Lenore moves over and makes a motion for the waitress to sit down to listen if she wants, and smiles at the new song. She hasn't heard anything as lovely since... well, for a while, at least. She grins as she notices how fast his fingers are moving, and wonders how they don't trip over one another.

Myles notices and begins strumming the same tune at the same speed, but with entire chords instead of picking each note. His hand flicks back and forth over the strings like lightning.

Tara sat and listened enchanted by the music. "It is wonderful." She breathed slightly awestruck. "And we don't have it on the menu but I can most definitely get you that." She said with another smile. She got up and walked down the corridors and back behind her counter. She set about finding the things she needed. Teabags, cinnamon, honey... After about ten minuets of careful estimating of how much cinnamon and honey to use, she was finished. The result looked rather delicious, she decided that she would have to try it someday herself. She walked back to the two. "Your drinks madam and sir." She said and handed them their slightly steaming drinks. "They're still rather hot."

"Ohhh, thank you, they look beautiful!" Lenore admire her drink for a few seconds before taking a sip. A blissful smile slowly spreads over her face. "'Tis perfect, the best tea I've ever had!" She looks slightly puzzled at the waitress. "You should have made yourself a cup too, though. You aren't busy in here, and surely your boss can't have a problem with you sitting down when there's nothing to do. Besides, two people talking is nice, but three's even better! Especially if there's music from time to time. Doubly so if the music is as wonderful as Mr.... emm, I just realised I don't know your names, either of you." She stands up and bows formally. "My name is Lenore, pleased to meet you! If I ramble too much just say so and I'll do my best to be quiet." She sits down and grins at them, then remembers her tea. "Oh, right!" She takes a few more sips happily, wondering who will answer first.

Tara grinned. "Ah, I would but I have just drank some tea recently myself. Regular kind that is, but I should love to make some for myself some day too. "It is a pleasure to meet you Lenore, my name is Tara, and don't worry you're not rambling on too much. Simply talking which is nice. It can get very quiet around here, but I call it my home. It is even better when we get such talented music players and friendly guests." She said nodding towards them with a smile. She tucked a strand of her onyx black hair behind her ear and looked at them both with her sapphire blue eyes. "If you don't mind me asking, where abouts are you two from?"

"Ah, I'm from America. New York City, to be exact, but I can't go back there... I really have no place to call home now." She pauses for a slight instant, downcast, then perks up. "Well, besides here, I mean! So I suppose I'm an adopted sky person in a way. But what did you mean by that, Mr. Million, that you're from the sky?" She grins half-teasingly, in a good way. "And is that how come you're such a wonderful musician, no matter how much you claim time helped? Ah, and where do you come from, Miss Tara? If it isn't rude of me to ask, I mean."
Lenore relaxes back in her chair and listens to the music again in the slight pause, letting the song take over. A slight movement catches her eye from the door, and she smiles. Another person attracted by Myles and his music! She walks over to the newcomer and smiles warmly. "Hello! Would you like to come join us?"
