Elnara had never been so harried when preparing for a trip, despite the fact that they technically weren't going far and needed nothing more than clothes. Celebor, of course, was well-prepared in advance, but Serenity needed a reminder to take warmer clothes than she had worn in the Southland, and all of the children younger than that needed help with just about everything. Skye kept doing little twirls in the hall next to the portal as she waited for everyone else to be ready, while Storm and Starr kept rifling through their bags and exchanging items and clothing. Silvrendir was standing between Idhril and Kaito, keeping a watchful eye on the mischievous neko, while Shiro was kneeling against the wall, talking to a very silent and very observant Ura, who had developed quite far in his few days of existence.

It wasn't that any of them were misbehaving, per se, but it was more a matter of the volume of their chatter as they waited for Lore, Donovan, Kara, and whoever else was going to come on this trip.

There were odd heavy thumping noises going up the steps, the odd thumping noises coming from one large gray feathered griffin that was following Kara along with a sleek, dark blue winged feline. Kara stopped in front of the portal giving Tao the handsign to stay. She had gone through the trouble to re-train the griffin. Seeing as she found it more difficult to have Tao stay with them, she hoped that the poor creature who had meant to do so much would have a better use in another land, or at the very least more breathing room. She simply could not stay in the greenhouse any more or run around outside of the inn.

"Good Tao," Kara smiled as she petted the creature.

Tao gave a birdy purr if that was possible as she rubbed her head against Kara's hand, she was still very much the gutton for attention.

The quick padding of feet marked the arrival of Feng and Ryu, Feng as usual dragging Ryu along with absolute glee. She loved to stay in the river near the house and besides she so wanted to visit Aliya again, she also... if she heard correctly wanted to visit the new child that was probably there.

Triton was behind them at a much calmer pace, he was helping Miyu and Lin store away the bento boxes that they had made the day previous. For the day before Trisha in her boredom for new forms of art had asked her brother to show her about making sweets and bento boxes. It became a family art project that would be edible in the end.Miyu was also making sure the books she was bringing was still there in the bag. She was quite looking forward to another trip, and it had become a regular thing for her to make those trips.

Close to her side was Toshiro who was riding on her head, he preferred Miyu because of her quiet nature. That and he had a feeling it was going to be her that he was going to be stuck with.

In addition as if the line of people wasn't already long enough Cindy decided it was time to make a return visit. She was quite happy and eager to for that matter, it had be far too long.

"It's like a small army," Donovan muttered as he surveyed the group of people before him.

There were so many people it amazed him in a way, but he also reminded himself that this was not even everyone possible.

Lore hurried up the steps unaware that a griffin had made it up before him. As he turned the corner to make his way towards the portal he was quite... shocked at the amount of people that were crowding the hallway.

Elnara was among the tallest people there, so when Lore came up the steps she could see him clearly. An expression of relief crossed her face, but as much as she wanted to go to him, or for him to come to her, the hallway was just too crowded.

There was nothing for it but to just pass through the portal, then.

"When you get through," she instructed her children, opening the door for them, "stay close. The last thing we need is for someone to get lost."

Celebor passed through the portal first. After all, he knew the area better than his siblings, and he would be able to make sure that they stayed where they were supposed to, as well as protect them in case there was any unexpected danger.

Serenity followed after him, gently prodding Skye ahead of her, calling Storm and Starr after her as she went.

Next went Idhril and Silvrendir, the little angel careful to make sure he stayed close to his sister - just in case. He was growing rather skilled at making barriers now, but he didn't want to have to test them right away.

Shiro rose to his feet and followed after them all, taking Ura by the hand and leading him along like a child (which technically he was, but Shiro treated the demon as if he were his own child rather than sibling or guardian).

Elnara didn't want to take any risks with Kaito, so she picked him up and carried him in her arms as she passed through, first making sure that none of her children had left their travel bags behind. While it wouldn't have been a disaster, it would have been quite difficult to try to come back here against the flow of others who were still in the hallway and who would be making their own way through the portal for the next short while. Once she was certain that they had everything, she, too, stepped through the portal, and into her home world.

It was early fading in the Four Lands, and the leaves on the trees were beginning to change their colour, reds and golds slowly taking over the greens and falling to the ground. It was a fairly warm day, and the sun was shining brightly in all its force, but there was a soft breeze rustling through the treetops, and with it came the promise of cooler days to come.

There weren't really as many young children, though Kara sent the older ones ahead along with the younger ones before going in herself. Since she wanted to make sure no one got left behind, she would be the last person to the enter the portal.

Triton stepped through along side Cindy as he took in the scenery, it had been a very long time now that he had thought about it.

Miyu skittered through sticking close to her uncle and aunt, it was always so strange to see how fast the time had passed.

Donovan didn't even need to usher Lin through.

She ran through and grinned at the change in season, this was a good season to play outside in. Not too hot, not too cold and plenty of leaves to play with if she was so mind.

Lore stepped through, and felt the cool air along the bare parts of his skin. He looked up at the sky of a different world and saw that while things were somewhat the same, there was also something different about it. Or maybe that was just because there were so many people about this time.

Once everyone was through and spread out enough that they weren't all jostling against each other, Elnara moved through everyone to seek Lore out and greet him properly.

"I'm glad you made it when you did," she smiled, giving him a one-armed hug and kissing him on the cheek. "I don't think all of us could have stood to be stuck in such a crowded space for much longer."

Celebor meanwhile herded up his siblings and began taking them all in the direction of the ranch. The valley was closer to be sure, but the last time he had been there, his grandmother had told him that she would be staying with Elrohir and Haradhel until they came next. Besides, those from the valley would be coming to the Ranch eventually anyways.

Donovan entered and looked around, satisfied in what he saw at the moment.

"Kara, you should leave Tao here, she's a good girl, but she'll probably scare the horses, and she's never seen horses before. Let Feng and Ryu take care of her, besides introduce Tao to Aliya's kids and she'll be happy as a lark."
PostPosted: Thu Apr 03, 2008 7:25 pm

Kara and Tao were the last ones to enter of course, and Tao's head perked up at the sight of all the leaves. Of course by now she knew they were not edible, but it also meant the fluffy tailed things were fatter than usual, but Kara's hand was on her neck which meant not to go anywhere.

Wish sniffed the air, it was fall for certain, or what did they call it? Fading was what it was called. Either way, winter would be on it's way evenually here.

"Okay," Kara murmured as she turned to Donovan.

Feng grinned as Ryu took in charge of Tao, "Don't worry mother, we'll look after her and she'll love Adan!"

Feng nearly squealed at the thought she wanted to see the boy again, and the twins... can't forget about the twins.

"We will see you later mother," Ryu told her as they headed off towards Aliya's house, Tao ambling along side them.

Lore smiled warmly lightly kissing her back, "Indeed, I didn't think there would be so many people," he admitted, "But everyone has a reason for being here today, so it only makes sense."

He had to chuckle a bit at that.

"Shall we go?"

Elnara smiled back at him. "Of course," she agreed, setting off. She let go of his shoulders and slipped her hand into his, shifting Kaito a bit in her other arm as she walked.

Storm looked around, his white eyes taking in everything as he began to walk. After they had been walking for a few minutes, he turned to Lin and asked, "This is where you come all the time, huh? This is different from where we were the last time we came here."

"That's because the ranch wasn't here the last time we were," Starr pointed out logically.

Meanwhile, in the valley, Ulani and Ulrich were spending some quality time with Adanedhel, now seven years old, and Adwin and Alyse, now four, in the yard between the two houses. The two elder elves were sitting on the picnic table, and Ulrich was telling the children stories while Ulani used her Wishsong to make moving pictures that went along with it.

The children listened, rapt with attention, though it must be said that Adwin was fidgeting a bit, rocking back and forth on his knees as he listened, eyes wide.
