I always figured sniping was a legitimate vending skill. surprised I just don't like Artificial Inflation.

I don't think it'll affect me much.
95% of the time I purchase from the Marketplace, It'll be by buying, not bidding. I did bid when I first started coming to Gaia, but after awhile, I kind of fell out of sorts with it.
I think it's an interesting idea with the 1 minute grace period given to bids at the last minute, or something along those lines I believe.
I think it's funny that I could just imagine a bunch of gaians bidding just an extra 1 gold to the item, back and forth, drawing out auctions and such for days and days. lol

I like it and I don't like it.
The anti sniping measure I don't like, because that was one of the ways I tried to get cheap items to resell again. It often didn't work though, as someone was always just a little faster than me. I guess I won't miss it too much. I can see the positives to this though, and I think they will outweigh the cons. First of all, people with slower internet connections (like me when I'm living with my parents in the summer) have a chance. Second, the seller gets a fairer price for their item, especially if people keep bidding on it over and over again in the last minute.
The not being able to cancel in the last five minutes: Thank you Gaia, thank you! When I was a newbie (three years ago), nothing would make me angrier than when a seller would cancel an auction I was about to win just because they weren't getting enough for it. Why couldn't they just set the starting bid for no less than they're willing to accept? Is it a marketing ploy to get people to bid? It's stupid!

I find it funny that they're kinda forcing people to learn how to set their bids. Though I'll miss sniping cheap game items, I'll adapt. As far as the time extension on bids, I wish it a bit shorter.

<3 Queen of...I used to snipe a lot of things before but I seemed to have lost that skill recently xd I don't think I mind the extension. *shrugs* But I definitely love that Gaia stopped people from being able to cancel bids. I hated when I was going to get an item for way less than the MP price and then the seller canceled. stare The new rules are good. 3nodding Musical Hearts <3

Never cared for it.
The only time I used the bid option is when I wasn't paying attention and just used the bid and buy option.
I like the idea of being able to change the price of an item..... so most likely I won't be using the bid at all!
As for buying items through bidding..... I really don't have the patience to wait for a bid.

I think it's a last ditch attempt to keep the auction format viable in the Marketplace.
As I know I've written before, I NEVER bid on auctions. EVERY SINGLE AUCTION I used to bid on was cancelled in the last couple of minutes because the seller didn't like the price. I realized this was a complete and utter waste of my time and I now completely ignore them.
I think it's a fair trade off - the non-cancelability of auctions more than 5 minutes old vs. auto extend. Something for the buyers and something for the sellers. Maybe it'll make auctions actually useful again.

I don't like auctioning anyway, my style is to get it while it's cheap, being the Sealeds vendor I am. It won't affect me. Atleast gaia's making a fair decision for a change.

We have to take the good with the bad. Even though there would be anymore of THOSE FREAKING LAST-MINUTE CANCELLATIONS, we can no longer get last-second auctions.
Ah well.

It only took me once to discover the horrors of bidding so I never use it anyway.
