----------
The sunshine flickered down that very hot afternoon, and the town burned with life while others stayed indoors, letting their fans keep them cool. Krinn sighed as he walked along the stone pavement, his hair brushed back, having grown a bit since the time he had arrived with Lan. The guardian had teased him, saying that he had magical fast paced growing hair and that before they knew it, Lan would be able to braid the poor kids hair. Though Lan knew nothing of how to braid hair so that was kind of an epic fail one in itself. Dressed comfortably in a tanktop and shorts, Krinn let his shining eyes turn towards anything of interest. He had pouted that morning when Lan had thrown a pair of sandals in his face, telling him that unless he wanted his feet to burn he would wear them. So here Krinn was, looking rather normal for someone who had been born out of a bottle. His actual clothing was wet from the water balloon fit at the cafe the other day, and was hanging out on the balcony to dry. Hopping over a crack in the stone, Krinn turned around and put his hands on his hips, sticking his tongue out distastefully at Lans slow pace. The guardian was behind him, his abnormal black and gold hair tied back into a spiky ponytail at the nape of his neck. It had been a day since his meeting with the odd man and his 'son', Cada at the cafe and now he had taken another day off, declaring it time for a break.
His shades were pushed back ontop of his head, and he wore a fashionable pair of capris, ending right below his kneecaps. An orange tanktop was snug against his torso, with a see-through white short sleeved shirt over it. A choker hung around his neck and he eyed Krinn with a yawn inbetween bites of a sweet green apple. Blinking, Lan cocked his head to the side. "You're really slow Lan!" Krinn said as he turned to hop over more cracks and dodge ongoers who turned to wonder whos kid that was. "You're just too hyper..." Lan sighed though Krinn didnt hear him. It was the first time he was actually really taking the kid out on the town to "explore" as the child had put it. Before it had either been for shopping purposes or for going somewhere. Walking along the sidewalk near the docks now, the echo of waves and seabirds sounded, making it more pleasant as men and women offered deals to passerbyers, selling whatever trinket they had in stock.
Stopping as Krinn ran along to look over the railing at the sea, Lan peaked over a small stall set up near the entrance of the market place - or atleast, one of the many entrances. Along all of them were small stalls that invited people to have a look and get a taste of the market, tempting them to enter for more. "See sometin' yah like?" The owner asked, returning from behind a curtain. Looking up, the chef blinked. The accent had reminded him of the strange man yesterday, and he half expected to see him pop up somewhere else. Looking back down, he chuckled. "Well there are so many to choose from. I really like them all." He said, picking up a small chain bracelet with a raincloud attached. His eyes flickered mischeviously. "Ne, old man, how much is this one?" He asked, holding it up. "Oh that? You can have it, free of charge." The old man waved it off with a laugh and Lan beamed. "Thanks a lot." The man waved it off once more. "Yer welcome. Have a good day....dont be surprised to meet someone new."
Lan blinked at the statement and stared at the sky in thought. What did he mean by that? Come to think of it, he had been meeting a lot of new people. Krinn, Millie, Sable, Mia, Cada, Marijus-whats-his-face... Blinking out of his daze, Lan looked over the stalls front. "What do you mean old man? Old man?" The old guy with a beard had disappeared while Lan had been thinking, and the poor guy didnt know what in the world he could have meant. With a sigh, Lan glanced down at the trinket with a smirk and looked over at his small companion. "Krinn!" He called, getting the attention of the other. "Catch." With that, he lightly tossed it and watched the storm gray haired boy who caught it and brushed back a piece of hair as Lan caught up with him and they turned a corner. Attaching it to his wrist, the boy put his hands on his hips. "You really are girly Lan." he said with a laugh, and promptly watched as the young adult turned to argue that he wasnt girly and tripped rather abruptly over a large amount of barrels and started to wave his arms with a yelp, falling forward. Krinn watched amused, crossing his arms with a small smile. "Uh huh. You just proved it though, by screaming like a girl." He said, rolling his eyes at the now fallen adult who stuck his tongue out at him before sighing, his legs hurting from the impact of the ground.
What a day it was turning out to be.

With the brilliant yellow orb hanging in the sky, normally it meant it was time to get up and out of bed. For most it was an easy task, getting up, washing, combing your hair, brushing your teeth and eating something remotely nutritious. Now those were the logical things to do; however for Ashton it was the opposite. For the past three days the musician had been bed bound in denial. First there was the sudden loss of his dear bottle on the crazy idea of going out into a storm. Then he had woken up in his bed as if nothing happened. Oh and how he wished it had been like that.
Nooo Oh noo…quite the opposite happened. Little did he know when he would open his eyes a child would be sitting across the room, munching on leftovers he had probably found in the fridge. Everything seemed to roll down hill from there.
”Ashton! Come on!” Came the spirited voice that cut through the raven-haired males thoughts. Who, grudgingly heaved a sigh and stepped out into the street, abandoning the nice patch of shade he had found. Being of fair skin, he always had the worry of burning.
”Who died and made you the boss…” Ashton grumbled, storm colored hues looking down at the mop of yellow hair. It wasn’t even blonde, it was yellow and black, and it suited the kid. And it made further sense since the bottled had glowed a yellow hue and was attracted to lightening. But since when were things like this logical?
”You did, one could technically pronounce you dead from how you’ve been the past three days” Ziya pouted, his gray hues matching the others with annoyance. Grinning in triumph when all he got in reply was a heavy sigh and a hand motion to start walking. The boy skipped ahead, looking around at everything. It was all new to him; he had been cooped up in that house for the past three days. He’d been itching to come outside, but he supposed Ashton had to sort himself out first.
Looking over at his guardian, he could hardly call him Dad because of how old he was and how old Ziya looked. Plus he gave off more of an older brother kind of vibe. The other always looked so sad, always alone. You’d think he’d be glad to have the company.
“Can we go to that market that lady was talking about?” Ziya asked softly, earning a silent nod from Ashton. He kinda wished the other would warm up to him faster, but the boy supposed he wasn’t used to having people his age around.
”I know a back road, so we don’t have to squish through the crowd” Ashton gave t he other a tiny smile and jogged down an alleyway. He knew it wasn’t too far, the pub was right on the edge of the entrance so he knew all the quick and painless ways. But little did he know it wasn’t going to be that painless.
”Can we get something to eat soon? We had no plates of food in the fridge left… well there was one but it smelt funny” Ziya crinkled his nose at the memory.
”Ugh, yeah don’t eat that…I don’t even remember what it was supposed to be… remind me to throw it out” Ashton frowned a little, putting his hands in his jean pockets. The breeze that flowed through the alley felt nice on his skin, sporting a nice short sleeved shirt for once.
Just as Ashton stepped out from the alleyway, a barrel came rolling at him. Before he could even get out of its way, it causes him just below the knees, sending him down onto his side with a very ungraceful squawk.

Krinn let out a dead whistle as he watched the barrel roll into someone else and knock them down. With a c**k of the eyebrow, he looked down at Lan. Only to realize he wasnt there but trying to dodge another rolling barrel that crashed into a wall next to him. "What happened to graceful?" He asked the other, smiling innocently at the glare thrown his way. "Graceful disappeared when I almost got attacked by a barrel..." Lan amended, brushing himself off and glancing up as he heard another crash. Then he blinked and realized that someone else had fallen to the fate of the large rolling barrels. Rubbing the back of his head, Lan facepalmed and groaned. What a day. What a day.
Krinn sauntered over to the now knocked over man and blinked down at him, wondering why he looked so dead in the first place. Lan was busy trying to get his brain back into place while Krinn eyed the new guy uncertainly. "Sorry about the barrels." He said after awhile. He looked over at Ziya, blinking. The obnoxious feeling returned that he knew him from somewhere and with an irritable blink of the eyes, he glanced back at the other guy. "Lans a klutz sometimes....actually, hes a klutz all the time." Smiling mischeviously, Krinn blinked as Lan grudgingly put a hand on his head. "Krinn, since when was I a klutz? I just happen to trip over things at times." Krinn smiled innocently at Lan, making for a casual excuse. "Thats what makes you a klutz though, isnt it?" He said backing away from Lans hand and putting his hands behind his back.
Lan sighed and looked back down at Ashton. "Sorry about the barrels. I didnt mean to knock that many over...they were just all of the sudden there." He said, a sheepish look coming over him while Krinn stuck out his tongue at the lame excuse in the background. Looking over at the person he had accidently stepped next to, Krinn blinked and looked Ziya over with a bored curiousity. "I'm....Lan...really sorry again." With a small smile, Lan offered his hand to help the other up.
Looking over at Lan and the other guy, Krinn crossed his arms behind his back and tilted towards Ziya. "Ne, are you related to the guy Lans talking to? He doesnt look old enough to be your dad." The boy said airily, curiousity filling him up and making him reckless and thoughtless as usual. He didnt mind the prospect of talking to strangers, even though Lan always told him not to. Speaking of which, the other was still over with that other male and Krinn stared down as his stomach rumbled. Maybe a pitstop for food was a good idea.

Well things couldn’t get more pleasant for him, getting knocked over by a barrel was Ashton’s favorite past time. Groaning softly, he faintly heard Ziya ask if he was okay but didn’t reply. Propping himself gingerly on his elbows, he tilted his head back to see who was casting the shadow over him. Seeing a dark haired child, he frowned at the look he was receiving. Had the kid never seen someone fall over before?
Opening his mouth to reply, he quickly let it fall closed again when a second shadow fell over his thin frame. Quirking an eyebrow at the banter, he sighed shortly and looked over at Ziya who looked a little helpless. Watching the child shrug his small shoulders, Ashton set his gaze back up when he was addressed once again.
“So they are magical Barrels then?” He chided, taking the others offered hand and carefully got up. “Don’t worry about it, its not like you have a hit out on me” He tried to joke; dusting himself off once he was on his feet again. Rubbing his arm a little, Ashton looked over at the dark haired child, who was heading over to where Ziya was standing. “Ashton, and like I said don’t worry… nothing is broken”
“No he’s not my Dad…” Ziya grinned a little, glad to see Ashton socializing, no matter how terrible he was at it. “Ashton is more like an older brother…. Is Lan your dad or brother?” The yellow haired dust asked in return. A small giggle escaped him when he heard the stomach grumble, knowing his was in the same state.
“I’m hungry too, do you know anywhere that has good food?” Ziya asked with a smile, since it seemed the other would know.

Lan glanced at the other and smiled sheepishly once more. Pushing a stray piece of hair back, he blinked. The man was rather kind for having been just knocked over by a barrel. Mia seemed ready to pounce on him when he had accidently knocked them both over the last time. Looking around at the barrels that had now ceased to roll, and was glad no one else had gotten toppled over by them. Then he remembered the old mans words and his face faultered for a second. It made him wonder what kind of guy the man was, but he didnt linger on the thought for long because the boy - Ashton, had just introduced himself. They didnt look like they were too far apart in age, and Lan wondered exactly how old the other was. "Not magical so much as moving barrels." He said with a lame attempt at a chuckle before recollecting himself. "Well thats a relief." Lan sighed, and smiled. "Nice to meet you."
Krinn blinked, looking over at Ziya. He shrugged and grinned. "I'm not related to Lan....hes a guardian really. But I guess I can consider him my older brother." He said, smiling. Then he glanced over at the two. "Hungry...?" He paused and grinned. "Well, I know a couple of places, but I usually get Lan to cook for me since hes a chef." He shrugged. "It is around lunch time anyways, maybe I can get him to make up for knocking your friend over by finding something or somewhere for you to eat." Looking at Ziya, he shrugged mindlessly with a smile. "By the way, I'm Krinn." He offered, wondering if Lan was going to make a new friend at all. Well, the other kid seemed much more different then Cada. Or Sable for that matter.
Lan on the other hand, wasnt faring as well in being very good at socializing. For all of his klutzy, laid back attitude, he was pretty clueless when it came to introductions and what not. Looking down as his stomach rumbled, the chef let his face faulter. Maybe they could take a stop at the cafe or his apartment for something to eat. After all, Krinn had dragged him out the door so fast that he barely had time for getting anything to eat all, save for some yogurt with a straw.

Rubbing his shoulder, he looked over at Ziya to make sure he was okay. He supposed this was how his own parents had felt when he was a kid, always wondering if he was okay, if he needed anything that sort of thing. Who knew he would find his inner parent so fast.
”Nice to meet you too” Ashton gave him a weak smile then looked back up at him fully. “Do you always greet new people by throwing barrels at them?” He teased, putting both hands in his pockets and relaxed a little. The musician supposed he looked like hell right now, if he looked anything like how he felt. The possibility of dark rings around his eyes, which would stand out on his pale skin and the tired look that wouldn’t leave his storm blue eyes. He hadn’t bothered looking at himself in the mirror so who knew what he looked like. Ziya just said it looked like he needed a bit of sun.
”Sounds like Ashton and I…. But he’s a bit more reluctant then Lan it looks like” Ziya mumbled and fixed his shirt a little. His eyebrows rose at what the other said, a bright smile on his face. “A Chef? Cool! Ashton can’t cook worth beans! So the lady he works for gives him plates of food all the time! But he can play the guitar and sing really well!”
Nodding, Ziya faintly wondered if Ashton would go for that, he really didn’t like inviting himself over to places it seemed. “I’m Ziya,” He said in return, giving the other a kind smile. “Sounds like someone else is hungry too!” The yellow haired boy giggled a little, having faintly heard Lan’s stomach protest.

Lan laughed and rubbed a hand behind his head, watching the other and sticking with a carefree smile. The young adult seemed kind enough, and it looked to him like everyone there was starving. Placing his hands on his hips carelessly, Lan shrugged with a smile. "Nah, this is a first with barrels. Usually I just run into them as a greeting - by accident of course!" He amended quickly with a chuckle at his own antics. Lan was a bit hesitant, since he didnt know exactly how to act around people he didnt know, but it just felt nice to act like himself instead of letting all of his manners get in the way of everything. He looked the other up and down quickly, taking in the pale skin which deeply contrasted against his own, slightly tan skin, and storm blue eyes. It was like a person of the night had just met with a person of the day. Lan let out a low chuckle in his head for that comment. What in the world was he thinking?
Krinn looked over at Ziya and let out a laugh. "Sounds like the complete opposite of Lan. He can cook, just cant sing. Though hes okay with pianos." he said, smiling. "Ashton sounds pretty cool. I've never met a musician before." It was odd that he got along so well with the other just after a simple hello. And not to mention his guardian had basically thrown a barrel at his 'older brother' friend. Looking down at his own stomach, he blinked. "Yeah, it looks like everyones hungry." He said thoughtfully and smirked. "A pleasure to meet you Ziya."
Lan was about to say something else to Ashton when Krinn appeared infront of him with a finger pointed at his face and another hand on his hip. The boy sure had a knack for showing up at the oddest times. Blinking at Krinns 'I have a plan' smile, Lan blinked, wondering what was going through the boys mind now. After a few weeks of living together, Krinn had opened up a lot more. Lan had realized he was definately more talkative with others and didnt mind jumping into the middle of things. Though it wasnt very surprising seeing as Lan had figured out the first day that the dust child really did speak his mind.
"Ne, Lan. I have an idea." Krinn said, grinning with the mishevious-ness of a cat. "I'm really hungry, since we didnt even try for breakfast, so can we go get something to eat? Or stop by the cafe or home?" Lan blinked and cocked his head to the side. "Whats the catch?" He asked, knowing Krinn always had something up his sleeve when he was like this. "Well seeing as you knocked someone over with a barrel, why dont you apologize by taking him out to lunch along with his friend. Or you can just cook somethin' up." Krinn smiled and Lan let his face faulter. It was a good way of making up to someone, and he wondered if the Ashton person was hungry at all. Honestly, he didnt mind the prospect of making up with the other in that way. He had done that with Mia as well.
Looking up, Lan put a hand behind his head and smiled sheepishly. "I suppose thats a good idea..." he said, Krinn disappearing behind him again and landing next to Ziya while the young adult made his own decisions. "I have kind of messed up your schedule I suppose. Would you mind me making it up to you in the form of lunch?" He said with a careless shrug and a smile. Of course, his own stomach was growling and Krinn was pretty hungry. Cooking was no big deal either, so it didnt really matter. They didnt have anything planned, so it would be okay if the other accepted, seeing as Krinn would probably be okay with the company as well as him.

A soft snerk escaped the raven haired male, a small smile appearing on his face. He raked a thin hand through his hair and looked to the side for a moment and scratched the back of his head idly. Making conversation wasn’t his strong point, he usually just listened to what everyone else had to say and made little comments here and there. Being a bartender, you just were there to listen.
”I’ve never met a chef before” Ziya giggled a little and toyed with a blackened end to his hair. The little dust was glad to have met someone new; maybe he could finally have friends! “Yeah he is pretty cool… but sometimes I think he’s crazy… he talks to himself a lot…. But I think its because he’s always been alone before I came” He sighed a little but smiled.
Watching the other child talk to Len, he looked over at Ashton, shooting him a smile. After getting a tongue stuck out at him, the little boy giggled at his guardian’s antics as he watched him turn aloof looking all over again. As if he had done nothing childish, he was good at getting away with that. Once you got past the paranoia, talking to ones self and strange quiet spells he was quite a fun guy. Kind of like a big kid.
“We actually didn’t have a schedule to be honest… but I never turn down a free meal” Ashton smiled a little and looked over at Ziya, who looked excited. “We haven’t eaten today either… that little monster dragged me out of bed and outside… forgetting I worked a night shift last night” he made an annoyed face.

Lan smiled. Well then, atleast he would be able to repay the man for knocking him over. And Krinn seemed to be getting along with the electric haired kid. That was always a good thing. "Haha, alright. Well then, I'll cook up whatever you want. Just follow me." He said smiling. "I know the feeling...Krinn woke me up at the crack of dawn to explore." He said, earning a 'you deserved it' stare from the dust child before he turned his attention back to Ziya. "You dont mind coming by the apartment do you? I've got a lot of ingredients there to cook with." He said, putting his hands on his hips and absently wondering who was the older of the two in that sort of situation.
"Its a perfect place - where we got rolled over by barrels." Lan said thoughtfully, starting to trail down the road slowly so that Ashton and the kids could tag along. "My place is just around the corner." He smiled cheerfully, thinking it might be nice to have company for a change. After all, he hadnt really sat and relaxed with anyone other then Dasity in a long time. Probably not since he had been with the cirque group.
Krinn looked over at Ziya and smiled. "Looks like lunch is free today." he said with a small laugh. "Lan came from the circus before traveling to Amies, so hes pretty strange himself. It sounds like those two will get along fine." he said, trailing along as Lan started to walk. "So, have you been here long?" he asked mindlessly, welcoming new conversation in since they were going to be having lunch together as it was. Lan would probably be drinking yogurt as usual, and Krinn would probably get a sundae if Lan didnt preach to him about the importance of nutrition again.
He watched the two absently while idling along with Ziya, wondering exactly how this would go. The man didnt seem like Mia, nor did he seem anywhere near as mad as Marijus and the guy named Cada. It was odd to be meeting so many new people already, but then again, it was sort of nice. Especially when he got along with them. Though it was hard to say whether he liked some of the people he encountered or not. Including the lazy cat Sona, who was sitting at home snoozing away on the balcony like usual. Krinn glanced at the clear sky.
I wonder how this days gonna end...

Nodding quietly to the other male, he peeked over at Ziya seeing him happily talk to the other child. As anti social as he was, he knew it wasn’t fair to make the little boy the same. But this Lan seemed nice enough, much more talkative them himself so that was good. But Ziya was a nice kid who deserved to have a few good friends and this little Kirnn, though he wondered if it would lead to sugar filled sleep overs and play dates. Raking a hand through his unruly black locks, he blinked as he held it back and looked at the other. “Hrmm? Oh yeah sure that’s fine… probably for the best since Ziya gets a little antsy when I try to get him to sit still somewhere…. Too much energy that one” Ashton smiled a little.
“Circus? Cool! Ashton has never been outside of this town before so he doesn’t have cool stories like Lan probably has!” Ziya exclaimed, grey hues bright with the idea of stories. Ashton had admitted once that he only knew stories about the other towns through others stories. “Oh me? About three or four days go really… Ashton’s still trying to get used to having me around….”
Looking skywards himself, he silently wished for a thunderstorm, he loved watching the lightening streak across the sky. The sharp contrast of brilliant yellow and grey was neat. “How long have you been with Lan? You two seem really close!”

Lan let out a soft chuckle at Ashtons response as they arrived, the door clicking closed behind them as Lan started to ascend the stairs. "It sounds like those two might be able to relate. Sitting still..." Lan shook his head and pushed open the door to the apartment, dropping the keys on the table near the threshold and turning to Ashton with a sort of sheepish smile. "Sitting still doesnt seem to be very possible for children." Lan glanced around the apartment, the living room right inside the door, then glanced back at Ashton with another grin. "Get as comfortable as you can...and dont worry about the paint cans. I'll start up lunch - anything in particular you want?"
Krinn grinned and crossed his arms behind his back, stepping into the apartment and glancing around for a moment before turning to the other child, his eyes ablaze with entertainment. "Cool stories?" Krinn laughed a bit, with his hands on his hips. "I'm sure Ashtons got atleast a few." He reassured sheepishly, taking after Lan in that way. Listening to the other tell him about how long he had been there, Krinn blinked and sank into the sofa, Sonare coming around to hop onto the edge of the couch and become eye level with Ziya to eye him suspiciously for a moment. "That means I've only been here a little while before you." Then Krinn smiled once more at the question, his dual eyes spinning with curiousity and happiness. "Really close?" Krinn grinned. "I've only been with Lan for about two weeks, but I guess we're close because we get on eachothers nerves so much."
Lan watched the two interact, entertained by how ready they were to jump into conversation. He was already pulling a bandana over his hair, a few strands of gold and black tickling the sides of his face. Turning to Ashton, he smiled, wondering what the other liked to eat on a regular basis. Knowing Krinn, the kid would want something like pasta or breakfast. The kid had always loved pancakes, as Lan had realized early on. Odd, huh?
