Nadine came plodding into camp, winding up the trail that led to the dens. In tow behind her was an oddly coloured lion, new to the area. She was glad that the lioness had decided to join them, or atleast check things out. They so needed more lions in their ranks. The mountain felt empty without lions filling the caves, and she was glad to have a new body. Perhaps she'd even spark the interest of one of the other male lions. Two sets of cubs! That would be most excellent.
Finally reaching the top overhanging cliff, where she met with most lions, the dark red lioness let out a roar, calling all lions to her that were lounging around the mountain or surrounding areas. She'd break both news of her own cubs, and a new member at once. Hopefully the pride would find it joyous news.
Sitting down and nodding for Mable to do the same, Nadine absent mindedly took a paw and began cleaning herself, waiting for the others to accumulate.

Mable followed the powerful looking lion up the winding path. She wondered if it would ever end. Maybe it was just her nerves, but it seemed like the dang trail went on and on forever. As she followed close behind she surveyed the area. The path up to the mountains was that of a very narrow one. It wouldn't be easy for enemies, and such, to get to their place without running into another lion.
She let out a low breath and smiled as they finally reached the end of the path. Laying before her eyes was a series of many caves. A couple of lions were in sight as she scanned the area with her eyes. Slowly, they landed on the edge of the cliff and she took a sharp intake of breath. The view was amazing here. Her eyes sparkled at the prospect of being able to lay near the cliff edge and just bask in the sun. Hopefully the clan would accept her.
She puffed up her chest and sat down beside Nadine as she nodded for Mable to do so. Mable held her breath, wondering what all the other lions in the clan would be like. The first lion she saw advancing was intimidating in size. The color of blood red and the sand, he was a handsome lion. He has an air of authority around him and Mable assumed it was Nadine's mate. She bowed her head in respect as he neared closer Ash's ears twitched as he heard Nadine's roar vibrate through the various caverns of their home. Lazily, he rose up from his resting place and sauntered out of their den. He smiled as his eyes fell onto his mate. She was so lovely. Her fur and eyes sparkled in the sunlight. Her belly was bulging slightly, from the cubs that were growing ever bigger in her. His eyes roamed over to the stranger that was sitting beside Nadine. With his eyebrow cocked he made his way over to them.
"Who's this?" He asked as he reached them both. He rubbed his muzzle against Nadine's in a now second nature gesture of love.

Accepting the nuzzle from Ash, Nadine licked his nose just as he was pulling away. Giggling a bit, she looked around for others before she replied. " This is Mable. And she's joining our family." She said simply. "I found her while wandering, and we had a nice little chat." Nadine gave Mable a wink, and continued to wait for the rest of the pride to muster.
Her stomach lurched a little and she decided to lay down to wait. Pregnancy was so different! She wasn't really aware of all that happened. She'd been around other lions before of course, but it was a completely different thing to be going through it ones self.

Sachmet walked through some grass following the smell of the pride she had been in. She had gone hunting one evening and fallen down a hill quite a long distance away from where the pride had been and had gotten very lost. She had been searching for them for weeks now and had finally found a trail of one of theirs. She had been following this trail for about two days now and felt that she was getting closer. She lifted her head and looked around to see if she could catch any fresher scent on the wind. She did catch a little bit but it was far away still. She kept walking as she looked around for any sign of them. She felt bad that she hadn't found them sooner and that they might have been worrying about her while she was missing. "I do hope they accept me back into the pride."

Sighing, Nadine wondered what was taking the rest of the pride so long. Never before had it taken this long to muster. To her knowledge no one was out on the hunt except for sachmet, whom, she suspected may have decided against being part of the pride.
Negative thoughts soon began to plague her. Mind racing, Nadine could see that which she wanted most slipping away from her like the prey into a hole. How long she had dreamed of a Pride, and how long she had hoped it to go well. It turns out however, that lions were a little more fickle than imagined. She cursed under her breath as she regreted not spending more time in the plains, possibly finding more lions, or getting to know the ones she brought out here better before the trip.
With a deep intake of breath, she slowly exhaled. It was the hormones. It had to be the hormones.

Ash nuzzled Nadine and purred low in his throat. He knew she was worried about the pride and he felt bad that he couldn't do more about it. "We'll make it, don't worry." He sat back on his hind legs and looked up at the sky. "Don't forget, we have the cubs coming soon." He looked back down at her, smiled and winked.
(( Sorry it was so short..I have to hop off of here. Being kidnapped by friends. ;o ))

Sachmet walked through another section of tall grass and looked around. She was getting closer to the scent, it smelled stronger here. She caught the scent of the head female from the pride and she smelled different...With cubs? She thought to her self and smiled. She walked up onto a large rock and looked around. She thought she saw a few lions in the distance. She called out to them, "Hello!" She said hoping they were her pride and not another pride. She jumped off the rock and headed towards the lions she had seen hoping that they were her pride.

Ash's ears twitched as he heard a distant voice. Sniffing the air he caught a familiar scent. Looking around, he narrowed his eyes as he vision tried to focus on a dot of a lion. As the lion moved closer he saw that it was a female lion...and not just a stray one. "Sachmet!" He bellowed as the lioness got even closer. He nudged Nadine a bit to get her attention.
Mable watched as the two head lions conversed and did their lovey dovey thing. She was kind of jealous of their relationship and wondered if she'd ever have anything as good as what they had. Mable's ear perked up as the male lion turned his attention to an approaching lion. Mable's fur rose as she didn't recognize the lion and wasn't sure if the leaders knew her either. She may not be officially part of the pride, but she'd show she was serious of joining if the need were to arise.
When the male lion bellowed a name she relaxed a bit as she realized that the approaching lion was more than likely either a friend or a member of their pride.

Turning toward where Ashoka was bellowing, it was indeed the missing lioness. It was good to see more familiar faces. Nadine still had a theory that they'd be going down to the watering hole before too long however, to bring in some new blood. The Rogue in many of the lions had not left, and many went off wandering without a word.
Noticing Mable's uneasyness, Nadine purred at her. "No worries girl, it's a lioness we previously thought lost is all. It will be nice to have her back. " Then, casting glances back at the caves, gave another roar for assembly. She was almost getting to the point of irritation. Atleast some should have showed up by now.

Sachmet walked up closer and looked at the other lions infront of her. "I'm sorry for getting lost. I fell and didn't know where i was or who i was for a little while. I didn't mean to cause any problems for you leaders. Am i still welcomed back?" She asked as she looked from one leader to the other. She could smell it better now, Nadine was going to have kits.

Turning to Sachmet as she came up the path, Nadine smiled at her. "Of course you are. Just no more wandering off again or standing on dangerous cliffs!" she joked half heartedly. Really, by now, the pride should have shown up. Sachmet herself was a surprise, but with one last growl she lay back down. She didn't approve of tardiness.

Sachmet nodded. "I'm sorry for that. I'll keep my self more alert to what i'm doing so i don't lose you again." She looked around at the lions that were there. "So who are these new lions?" she asked wondering who was here. "And where are the others? Do you know yet?" She asked wondering if they were going to be heading out soon.

Giving out a snort that sent dust in front of her flying into a small cloud, Nadine smirked. "I havn't a clue where everyone is... they've been distant lately. As for this one," Her head directed toward Mable, "Her name is Mable, and she's come to join the pride. I had hoped to tell the whole pride at once, but i grow impatient." Nadine sat in silence a moment, contemplating on just what was happening to her Pride. She knew it was hard getting one started, but she hadn't suspected this difficulty.
Sitting up, Nadine nuzzled Ashoka and turned toward the three Lions. "Ashoka and I are to have cubs. Soon i'd wager." The cheerful news she had been dying to tell the pride seemed dimmed by their absence. She did however, put on a fake smile to keep up appearances. " It will be the first litter born to the pride!" She let out with pride, chest puffed a bit more than usual.
