I thought it would be cool to have a thread where people can compare how different armies would mesh together.

The combo that my friend and I are putting together: Dark Eldar and Khornite Chaos. So much assaulting, so little time...

A good combo a friend and I have is,
My guard, very sit and shoot. His Black Templar. Assaulty.
He stops the nasties from smacking me up. smile

My friend and I were thinking of Teaming his Dark Angels up with my Blood Angels. Both armies are fast, so we could take the fight to them quick, with all my assaulters and Baal Predator I'd take care of infantry and he'd zoom in and use his teleport homers to engage the stronger points in the enemy line with terminators.

I remember mention of a battle in the 3rd edition rulebook where Space Marines, Eldar, and Imperial Guard all fought side by side against a Tyranid invasion, and managed to win out; that'd be an interesting battle/campaign to recreate.

Imperial Guard and Tau. Just hope that the enemy doesn't get close.

Uh, In any case, Ork mercenaries and Imperial Guard. Hard hitting CC units with an extra shooty backup. If not that, a "Traitor Guard" force with a few Chaos units. Cannon fodder backing up maybe a few Havocs and a Chaos Lord. Fits in with the fluff better than the existing Chaos force does. Also, Eldar and Tau; vaguely similar armies doing vaguely similar things: skimming around like dicks while shooting you up.

I would have to say that Tau and Ork Combo would be good, its good power range and a backup, if, so to speak, the opponent got too close you have all your assault units, mainly the orks, to go in and kill
And the one I plan to use is Eldar and Necrons, for a few reasons: Necrons have the "we'll be back rule" making them good as cannon fodder while your fire dragons move in and destroy the tank Eldar are all around units, they have something for every occasion Necrons can move in with an eldar close combat squad behind them I basically use the necrons as diversions

That's like comparing Blood Axes and Snakebites. It's the same army, they just spam different units.

Elysians and Catachans then. Pairing sweaty jungle bunnies with mobile air support. Don't give me bullshit that guard is all alike, just like those crummy chapters they got their own rules and flavour.

That would be like pairing Slaneesh(sp?) deamons with Eldar.

Only GW tossed all fluff out the window, so any army can be paired and mated with any other army out there.

Lt. Brookman Only GW tossed all fluff out the window, so any army can be paired and mated with any other army out there. Pretty much. Any fluff can be overlooked if you can find a clever explanation.
